    COFFEE

    LOL
  2. She's trying to throw you off! You're getting socks!
  3. Sleded and I got the boat out for one last shot at the pike yesterday on long point bay. After being tossed around and soaked out in the lake with nothing to show for our efforts besides a ton of floating vegetation, we moved into some sheltered canals to target the panfish which were plentiful in them. We had a good day and went home with 12 decent perch, the rest were released. The trip back home was brutal though even though the lake had flattened a bit.

    COFFEE

I recommend organic coffee.. that mass produced stuff has as many cancer causing agents as a pack of cigarettes.
  5. Trust me this trib is open year round for trout. I'm not going to name it. It's a small spot and gets enough pressure as it is. I refuse to fish it in the day time anymore as it's always full of people .. there is one legal spot to fish, the rest are trespassing. On boathouses, bridges, private property. It's kinda sick really.
  6. I kept it because I assumed it was a chinook with funky colors. Now I believe it was a brown with a funky mouth.
  7. Nice, only 5 days left up there, great to see some getting out before it's too late!
  8. Great report and nice fish! Thanks for sharing.
  9. Guess you had to taste it to know that it was not a trout.. lol I've stopped caring. I now know what it was. Thanks for the help guys.
  10. Male Atlantic Salmon: After some investigation on Google I'm also 100% sure it was a male atlantic. No tags either. I wasn't aware there was a stocking program on atlantics in Lake Erie.. any thoughts?
  11. No I just focus on more important species throughout the fishing season..
  12. Well I just googled "male atlantic salmon" and boom, there it was. Definitely a male atlantic. Wow if that's how atlantic's taste I hope I catch more, LOL
  13. I ate it, it was delicious. Caught it on a roe bag bottom bounced and it was a Lake Erie trib. I thought I knew it was a salmon when I kept it.. didn't really think about the strange coloration until afterward. I was just too excited about the meal, LOL! It fought like a champ, no jumps though. Definitely not a trout though, I can tell by the taste of the meat, haha Now I kinda feel guilty for keeping an atlantic..
  14. Thanks for all the great tips guys hopefully I can put them into play and land a few tomorrow morning.
  15. Okay.. so I went steelheading today and all I managed was this mystery fish. I was sure it was a salmon, but after inspecting it closely I couldn't figure out what type of salmon. It was a male, and I kept it. The pics were taken after I took the guts out and it had laid on shore and bled out for probably an hour, but the coloration remained the same just a little lighter. After eating it this evening (it was delicious by the way) I know for a fact it was some type of salmon. I've just never seen a salmon with that kind of coloration. The weirdest part for me was getting a salmon that looked so fresh this late in the season. Maybe some OFC'ers can clarify my catch! And the ever so famous, "porch shot"
  16. Hey all.. I'm just getting into pike fishing again this year and haven't had much experience fishing them in the fall when the water cools like it has recently. I'm wondering if trolling is still productive this year with spinnerbaits and such, and if so should the troll be slowed down, sped up, kept the same, or what? Or would casting jerkbaits be more effective? Any info on late season pike would be appreciated! Thanks!

  19. I might be overlooking the obvious, but wouldn't the handle still be clearly visible as it dangles into the water from your waders?

    Steelhead

Wow, I can only dream about getting one as big as the 2nd one! Nice!
  21. Gerritt try to find freeze dried Goji Berries. The natural values guy at my work put me on them and they help a lot. 9 bucks a bag and just eat 2 handfuls in the morning. Read up on them, they are good for a lot of things.
  22. Gravel pits are generally too polluted and oxygen deprived to hold anything besides bass, panfish, pike and carp. Pollution comes from acid rain and polluted groundwater leaking into the system, and since there is no drainage it all stays in there.
  23. I'm sorry but how is Darryl real? The only places he fished in the last 8 years on his show were expensive lodges that nobody who earns a real paycheck could ever afford, where the fishing is so easy. I like when he acts like a certain new color of lure he got from his sponsor is working for him. You could use a bare hook and get the same results where he's fishing! Same reason I don't like 90% of hte fishing shows these days. People pay to go to these lodges because the fishing is easy, plain and simple. They get free trips to these places so they can look good catching a million fish and promote a sponsor product. He's the same as all the other hosts, the only thing different is that he promotes catch and eat while most others are all about the catch and release. Grrrrrr.. that's my rant
  24. Congrats Bosc and Pieter! Nice work.
