  1. I wish it rained worm blowers on my river. But really, that is pretty sick. And strange. Is there like a hospital dumping them up river or something? Not druggies, they wouldn't leave them in the packages..
  2. Around here shopping carts and bicycles are the main litter.
  3. lol, been there, done that (on a friend's private pond with no moving water access of course)
  4. Yea DSN most have been very skinny out of that spot since early December. I think the only food source they have is crayfish and the french fries people feed to the ducks. lol Not so much feeding going on however they are probably getting their fill of corn from me. I've dumped a ton in that spot for chum. Funny I said "never too cold" because the next day it indeed got too cold. The upper part of the creek froze right over (rarely happens!) which cut flow off significantly to the lower area of the creek where I do the majority of my carp fishing. I still gave it a shot and had a short tussle with a little guy but most of the carp had moved deeper and closer to the dam. Talk about a flash freeze!
  5. There's a ton of good noodle rods out there to choose from. When I'm doing that type of fishing (rod in a holder) I use a 9 foot ugly stick. Plenty long enough for me. Hurts the crap out of my neck trying to look up in the air at a 13 footer all day.
  6. Mine is based on what would be my ideal annual income. Oh, it's my name too. I dunno.. people are still calling me "Big Bass Rich" everywhere I go.
  7. For quantity, sometimes quality and more reliable conditions (not as rough) hit up the Haliburton area. Pick a lake and drop a tube chances are you'll get tons. For quality, Lake Simcoe has it. Lots of people nailing 5lb+ fish there all the time. Just gotta keep an eye on the weather.
  8. I'm a little upset to hear that there is a season on pike in this area now. I rather enjoyed the year round opportunity. Oh well there's still Lake Erie.
  9. Well today I proved my theory that carp feed actively all winter. -10 outside plus whatever windchill was and I still managed to go 2/3 on the carp. They are still hitting canned corn on bottom. The secret is getting the bait right to them. They won't move far to hit, but they still fight just as good as in the summer. Lots of fun and I will definitely be back for more as winter progresses. Anyone who's not a fan of ice fishing get out there for winter carp action on the rivers it's a blast!
  10. For the record, walleye do stage and run rivers to spawn in the spring. Just not all of them.
  11. I don't know about other places but down here I think there are only 2 creeks open now and they both get pounded pretty hard (being that they're the only 2 open in the area). From what I hear the water has been either low or the creeks have been blown for several weeks now making for tough fishing.

  13. I figured OFC needs a fishing report so I thought I'd post this little one from Thursday. Well with Sugarpacket and Splenda on the east coast I decided I should make the best of it and get out fishing. Been telling our friend Jamie that I'd get her out fishing for over a year now so we figured yesterday was the day. Got down to the dam and after giving her some casting lessons we had our lines in the water. I was hoping to get Jamie into some fish - she had some massive hits, one nearly took the rod but she didn't get to them in time (too busy lost in her own world). I managed to land two scrappy little guys but man oh man I should have brought a net. Reaching into that water was like reaching into liquid nitrogen.. FREEZING! After releasing these two fish I made a break for Timmies real quick. Meh even if the fish were tiny by carp standards they still put up a scrap and it was good to get out. Looking forward to getting out again but it looks like the weather may have other plans this weekend.
  14. Congratulations!
  15. I saw guys netting minnows at a local dam get busted by the MNR on many occasions. They were taking several thousand minnows at a time.
  16. I'd eat it
  17. Teach them a lesson and shop somewhere else. Guaranteed if we all went to local shops BPS would certainly lower their prices.
  18. Youtube doesn't seem to be working at the moment but I remember the video and it was hilarious!
  19. I trickle charge my deep cycle once a month in the winter. Seems to work well.
  20. If you want local weather and radio just get a cheapo radio. Sirius is awesome though for music.
  21. Rivers and warm weather are never a good combo for good ice. I assume the Ottawa rises and falls when there is a lot of runoff which would make the ice unstable. At least they got the hut out and nobody was hurt.
  22. Right at the bottom of the page
  23. What they didn't post up my invitation on the RB site?
  24. Sleded, Red Devil and I headed out to some Lake Erie canals to start the day looking for crappies and bluegills. When we met Red Devil at the spot he already had 4 crappies bucketed. The action was intense on the bluegills and the crappies were biting pretty good as well until about 2:30. We also got into some OOS bass surprisingly. That's gotta be a first for January open water fishing! Gotta love global warming! Red Devil with an OOS bass: The weather was perfect for BBQ'ing as we had BBQ elk burgers and ONIIOOONNNSSSS!! Sleded was so full he could barely move. In fact, we thought he was dead so we had to call the police to make it an official crime scene. The murder weapon: While the police were investigating the murder, Red Devil and I got them to snap a pic of some of our fish. Luckily Sleded was okay and we weren't charged for murder. As he woke up, he continued eating. As we moved spots to a different canal after the BBQ I sat up in my redneck fishing throne and continued to slay the bluegill. Then it was my shot at an OOS bass, and what a monster! After that, Sleded and I moved on to the mighty Lynn in search of carp, but to our surprise there was nothing but panfish biting. Oh and an OOS trout .. lol And then Sleded scored with the trophy fish of the day, the World's Greatest Sportfish - king of all fish - the rock bass. It was an awesome day on the water and we can account that on the fact that the video camera battery died again! Can't wait to get back out.
  25. Sugarpacket, Splenda and I headed over to the Filth Mansion for a birthday bash since Sleded and I's birthday's are so close together. There was Busch, Pizza and ONNNIIIOOONNNSSSS!!!!
