Tru-Fuel still ethanol free but not like you’d want to fill up anything other than a small tank with it.

You’ll have to forgive me if I’ve asked this question before, like 15 years ago, my memory is terrible. I’ve had a few 12 and 14 foot cheap tin boats over the years. The kind that swell out to 60-65 inch beams but narrow considerably at the transom, 50-55 inches perhaps. This time around I’m looking for something that has a decent transom width, I’m thinking 67 inches plus, in a 14 foot boat. Does that extra width in the transom provide much benefit, beyond looking much more robust? Stability? Fishability? I figure wider is better but is there any sort of consensus regarding minimum transom width in a 14 footer? Thanks

All true I suppose. Particularly the bit about me treating my mower better. But…it ain’t gonna happen.

The lawn mower references make me curious. Why is it that I can leave my mower literally outside beneath the snow all winter, never stabilize the fuel which is probably already old by summers end, and it still starts reliably in the spring? Granted a few extra pulls initially but then good to go for the season. Boat motors have finer jets or something? Obviously the outrageous cost of an outboard is incentive enough to have one take every precaution, just curious why they are so finicky/sensitive.

Should mention there is a fair bit of boat traffic though

I’ve fished various sections of the Otonabee , from shore and aboard some kind of crappy boat/canoe and there’s always been plenty of water where the weeds don’t reach the surface. That includes where the river empties into rice, although it’s been a few years.

You know what that means! 3-08 day is just around the corner!

Smitty, I double checked this. Apparently it’s totally inaccurate and the authors words have been selectively quoted (or misquoted) to make windmills look less effective than they actually are. It’s based on the premise that windmills are placed in poor locations where in reality they’d most likely never be built. They are ugly though, I’ll give you that. If you look at Homer-Dixon.com the supposed author suggests the poster is fraudulent and that he didn’t write that.

Let sleeping dogs lie. Interesting thread. In the pic with the bank of 3 of them I think they look vaguely like some kind of high tech urinals. The props might make you hesitant though..

He mentions in the post it’s a .22, unless I’m misunderstanding something

I would’ve given up fishing years ago if not for senkos and wacky rigging. Started catching fish in places I had fished countless times prior with little to no luck. Got to be one of the easiest techniques to learn/use. An o ring gets you a lot more mileage out of your worm, worth the 3 seconds it takes to put one on.

Googling the article I can’t say I’ve ever heard the term “Cabbage Dragon” before either, but I like it,

Oh yeah, I hadn’t even noticed till you mentioned it, but there they are. Surprising that I’d get any ads political in nature as the majority of my time is spent searching porn. Go figure. That was a joke. Should clarify.

That’s awesome. No mention of it in the article and I’ve always been poor at identification;would that be a tiger? Super cool regardless.

Anyone in Hamilton area able to pull a dent from a car?
Weeds replied to Raycaster's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
Just did some googling. Nov 5th, 65 bucks all you can carry, although I don’t know if they’d have your door or not. Just to be clear, you also have to pull the part yourself. -

I remember Standard Auto Wreckers in Toronto used to have an all you can carry day, can’t remember for the life of me how much it cost as it’s been a million years since I was there, but I think it was reasonable, especially if there were a few items you were after -
Victorinox also make nice knives. I’ve had better luck with them than Henckels. 12 inch chef knife with the rosewood handle is my go to kitchen blade.

I don’t think your link is working. I bought a couple a few years back, one like yours and the other the slightly thicker bladed stainless steel variety, in orange handle. Really like them both. Great value too

I’m pretty sure Dara’s post was intended as a friendly reference to “A Christmas Story”

I have a hard time following the threads detailing the ins and outs of bringing a boat over from the states. Could you possibly rent a trailer here and bring it back on that? How big is the boat? -
There’s a 2020 Tohatsu 3.5 for sale on Kijiji, East Gwillimbury , asking 990. Supposedly mint.

I picked up a like new 2018 Suzuki 2.5 for 500 for my sportspal, which I figured was a good deal. You might be somewhere around that price point. I have the narrower flat back sportspal and actually managed to fall out when I stood up and leaned over the motor to check that it was pumping water out. Thought I was gonna tip the canoe so flopped out. Ruined my cell phone. Some weight up front would’ve really helped. Other than that it was good.

At least a couple of lighters as your guaranteed to lose the first one before you even use it. A hatchet. Some kind of camp knife. Couple pairs of cheap cheater glasses. Something to read on rainy days or if the kids ever give you a moments peace. Aspirin because they probably won’t.
