What are you looking for?? I've been able to find digital copies of vinyl LP's that were never reissued as CD's. People have gone to the work of inputting a turntable into their soundcard. Most often they will be .flac files " free lossless audio codec" but they can be converted to mp3's if you want. Legal sites like Itunes tend to focus on new and popular stuff, the more obscure stuff always had better luck on the torrent sites.

Very nice work, looks great I might of doubled up the clamps, one on each corner of the board could be a flexing problem, probably just over cautious on my part.

Downriggers on the front of the boat????
dave524 replied to thefireman's topic in General Discussion
I've run a pair of manuals attched to a board attached to the oarlocks of a cartopper while fishing remoter lakes in Haliburton, never an issue even with the shorter arm riggers. I'm sure you will be using something with arms longer than thosse little J arms we had, If that's what you want go for it. -
I actually have done better with fresher type baits. One thing to do with nightcrawlers is to take a needle and thread and run it through 4 or so crawlers and then wrap them on a hook so there is few loose ends, helps greatly with small stuff stealing the bait over time. Raw shrimps from the seafood counter are great as are traditional fish cut bait. Best however for me has been frogs, think you have to watch the species you use now, use them alive or dead and if they are too big, cut in half for 2 baits.

Some artists are trade friendly and don't mind if fans tape performances and trade, believe the "Greatful Dead" were the first to do this with a taper's section in the audience back in the 70's. Couple of sites that have a lot of legal free downloadable music are: http://www.archive.org/details/etree http://wiki.etree.org/ There are other sites that use torrents that you have to be a member of to use the trackers, they also trade what are known as ROIO's, "recordings of independent origin". These are audience recordings of concerts, recordings of FM radio shows and even DVD's of TV specials, audience recordings and broadcast concerts that are not copyrighted or available commercially. As a member of quite a few of these let me recommend Dimeadozen The Trader's Den Lossless Legs HungerCity and Pure Live Gigs google should put you to the Homepage of these sites should you wish to go this far and join Going to commercial and copyrighted material, I have had issues with the previously mentioned Pirate Bay, not with a virus in the actual downloaded material, but some of the banners, pop ups and ads seem to have issues with them, BEWARE!!!! I would try Demonoid.com first, don't seems to have the same issues there, it is a member site as well but will let you download recent uploads without membership. Hope this helps you or anyone else interested in music.

ditto on the House Finch, males are similar but look like their head and shoulders were dipped in raspberry jello. they are quite common.
-
Ditto on the Safari / Astro, I'd replace mine with a new one in a heartbeat if they still made them Tows my stuff well ( up to 3000 lbs.), lots of room for gear if you take one of the rear seats out, will handle all your kiddy seats and even the best one on the used lot today should be in your price range. Got a 97 with only 122,000K on it , keeping it till it dies, never had a majour issue with it.

Thickest I ever saw then was in Stoco Lake, fished there for Musky back when a chum was in the air force based in Trenton. Pods and pods were visible at high speed motoring just hanging lazily just under the surface.

D ) would look great with T-Top over it for those hot sunny days PS. don't get a bimini attached to the gunwales like I did, totally defeats the open.... walk either side of the console when fighting a fish.
-
Done the best with a float rod, larger than normal float and leader, egg loop on a stout hook and a big gob of fresh skein.
-
I read somewhere there was a accidental deletion of the .pdf or .html file of the Shimano rod and reel files. Pretty sure they are still available, been like that for a month or so on the website.

I agree, Coho and at 15 lbs a pretty good one at that. IMHO the best of the bunch on the table out of Lake Ontario. Good shooting , nice to have the option of a warm water and cold water fishery down that end of the lake.

Looking good, I had the 80's vintage Sylvan centre console 18' Rodmaster, very similar boat. Like the fuel tank up front, mine was always a little heavy in the rear with the starting battery, fuel tank, starting battery, V4 Johnson and 9.9 kicker all at the back, especially when 2 guys were setting riggers the water was close to the top of the spashwell. That fibreglass console with the stainless wheel sure is a lot nicer than the vinyl covered plywood one and plastic wheel the Sylvan had. Love the vinyl flooring and covering too, Sylvan carpetted everything back then, even the gunwales, looked good in the showroom but after a dozen years decided it was not the brightest idea. Again, very nice and well thought out rerig.

I think the bulk of the fish in the spring are spawners from the lake. If you want cats now, I lived in Port Rowan and Long Point when I was younger and caught cats up to 20lbs , 8-10 average, surf casting on the lake side of Long Point in the evening. Same baits, shrimp, worm balls, cut baits, couple oz. pyramid sinkers on 9 foot saltwater spinnners, rod stands with bells on and a campfire. I remember we got them right up to duck season and August was probably the hottest month, in all these years never have gone back to see if they are still there, but have good memories of a great times, best spot was down off Hasting's Ave near the old Big Creek channel. The bottom was all sand where we got them, it was quite a well known fishery at that time, sometimes a few carloads would come from Detroit and fish there.

When " Erie Dearies " were popular I hated the gold plated Aberdeen hook that came on them, used to set them up with a single and a treble trailer snelled on mono like a worm harness, worked well off riggers or a dipsy for Erie eyes, the weighted head was less prone to line twist than a standard worm harness.
-
Don't assume you can use your vehicle jack on your trailer, especially if the tire is flat and the axle close to the ground. Those scissor type jacks come in handy and are pretty cheap , collapse to a low height.

If they are doing a headshake with a large heavy plug or spoon and their head is out of the water I think it is better to let the line go slack. I believe the rule long ago was to bow to the fish on a jump, think it is easier to throw the lure out of the water as there is less resistance air vs water. edit:the weight of the lure is used more to their advantage out of the water on a headshake.

I deliberated on the 16 vs. 18 footer years ago. I had the boat narrowed down to a Sylvan Rodmaster but the price jump held me back, then I found a dealer that had a last years demo model V4 Johnson tilt and trim that he would let go with warranty for the same price as a new 3 banger 70hp, so I powered the 18' with that instead of a 16' with a 70hp. Everytime I went out on the water, Salmon on Ontario or Erie Eyes I was glad I had the 18, ran it for 20 years, I'm sure if I had the 16' I would have upgraded at some point. I see on the link that Spincast posted a Starcraft 19 Fishmaster with a 2007 115hp Etec, the price didn't look too bad, unforunately it is sold. IMHO that would be a sweet rig for what you want, think you be very happy with a rig in that class. I launched solo most of the time and no problems with that size of rig.

The speed seems to be right in the ballpark for a regular Sympatico High Speed account. I'm a bit of a torrent junkie and am hanging on to an old uncapped Sympatico account and those are the speeds that I get. The best support for Sympatico I found comes from a forum called DSLReports.com, there are two forums in there , " Bell Canada " and "Bell Canada Direct", with Bell's approval a few Bell tech's handle inquiries and problems, find it much better than phoning overseas. There are also forums for Bell Expressvu and most routers, the place has been a Godsend to me when I've encountered problems. The problem here might not be the modem or the phone line, I've encountered this slow loading at times and 404 errors and most of the time it has to with crappie DNS addresses assigned by Bell. For about a year now I've been using DNS adresses assigned by an outfit " OpenDNS " with none of the frequent problems that I had before. Might want to give it a try.

One of my favourite techniques for trolling from a canoe was a flyrod with a hi density full sinking line and a streamer, the paddling motion would give a pulsating action to a maribou streamer that was very effective on SMB and the occasional walleye. Ok, this would not give the depth you require but I'm thinking a lead core trolling outfit ( like recently on sale at CTC ) would acomplish the same effect at greater depths from a canoe. Another thing I would try would be to place a larger, light gauge williams wabbler type spoon about 18" ahead of the fly with the hook removed and the fly snelled off the back , it has been an effective combo on specs, should work on lakers at well.
