  1. This might be of some help, unforunately some of your pieces may be discontinued http://www.fish307.com/mag10a2006andolder.aspx
  2. The one thing I am adding is a sea anchor or drift bag, the legal anchor requirement does nothing as far as keeping your bow to the waves if you are dead in the water far offshore.
  3. There has been a lot of walleye stocking effort going on lately in Barnum, just a mile to the east of Kash, don't know how access is but might be worth a try for eyes.
  4. I'm sure it was money well spent for the knowledge, plus a phenomenal day of bassin"
  5. After a few dozen trips to the blue zone we might all get a little complacent, careless and take a few shortcuts. It's a bit of a read but shows how quickly things can go bad for even a very experienced offshore fisherman. http://www.glangler.com/_blog/Great_Lakes_Angler/post/MULL's_BLOG_Stupid,_Adrift_and_Thanking_God_for_a_Coleman_Cooler/ guess you need to click on it in the recent posts, doesn't seem to want to link
  6. I think considering the age of the lure they mean an Uncle Josh pork frog, not a piece of a real frog.
  7. OMG, that what happens when you are retired, not only do you not know what day it is, I'm having trouble with weeks now
  8. just noticed it is Friday the 13th too in Dover, local Ontario Party Pooper detachment probably bringing outside reinforcements in this weekend, best be on your best behavior down there and have all your safety gear on board.
  9. Long Point launches might be especially busy this weekend, think this is the weekend of the big Pottohawk Party, well past the age of participating but a wild time in my younger years
  10. Rich is also in Norfolk County, the walleye down that way out of Ports like Burwell are a distinct subspecies that chase down salmon spoons at salmon speeds. Took some boats from down that way a bit to get with the program in this end during the recent 444 Derby out of Port Colborne.
  11. Actually, it has been my experience that the main Coho runs come after the main Chinook run is a rotting memory , in years gone by I've seen very bright fresh Cohoes in the river as late as Dec with ice forming in the river.
  12. In the Port Colborne to Fort Erie area, there is a night bite inshore in a few locations trolling stick type crankbaits, you could try in your location or trailer there.
  13. Electrical noise has always been random marks and/or vertical lines on anything I have used, this sounds more like a poor connection or a voltage problem to me.
  14. Luckily down this end of the lake we have a lot of structure inside of 60 foot deep, so you know where the fish will be, after 60 it flattens out so you need to travel a mile out to pick up 2-3 foot of depth Very interesting, only one, there goes my strategy of tryin to outrun them by trolling
  15. Yes, great catch there Billy Farmin??? How many sheepies did ya get
  16. Jordan Harbour had an excellent largemouth fishery, nobody fishes there any more now that the Campbell's Marina is gone and I understand it is silted in pretty bad. Lots of largies hanging around in the Fifty Point Marina too.
  17. My favourite large dry fly for smallies is actually a streamer, take a muddler minnow and fish it dry on the surface, they will float well cause of the deer hair and is a reasonable imitator of probably a hopper, large caddis or a miller type moth that has fallen on the surface. Bass aren't fussy if it looks like food
  18. While I haven't tried them with braid, keep them for stacking a 2nd line off a rigger, easy to place anywhere on the cable, but think they might work cause of the clamping action with braid, have a look at the Roemer Release. http://www.roemerrelease.com/catalog.htm#1
  19. Not a good idea, the female actually carries her eggs on the underside of her tail until they hatch.
  20. X2 on the 15' , too long, 13 or maybe 11 1/2 too if you intend on fishing for residents on smaller brushy creeks.
  21. nicely done those are pretty respectable largemouth
  22. Read bigmacs quote from the MNR very carefully, the last line seems pretty clear, The fish must be planted there from a licenced source if all the conditions apply, fish that naturalize in a pond through other means do not apply.
  23. Does he have a bill of sale for the fish? Or is it a naturalized population from a white bucket transfer from a nearby water body many years ago? I would tread lightly if fishing outside the fish and game act.
  24. No, not ducks, but I have released young pheasants on private land many years ago and we did have to wait until opening day. Again, the pay to hunt pheasant operations are licenced and do get an exemption. Generally the land owner does not own the wildlife even though it is on his land, it is the Crown.
  25. You still have to follow the seasons and limits when hunting on your privately owned land, why would fishing be any different?? I think those public pay by the inch trout ponds are licenced in some way and are possibly exempt though. Would you shoot a duck out of season on that pond, if not why would you take a fish out of season?
