  1. There are many private campgrounds as well as Emily Provincial park in the south near Omemee. No place that you can camp for free unless you want to take your chances with trespassing charges. All of Pigeon is good, some spots are just better than others.
  2. They've updated the article now and yes his body has been found. I'm sure the tourney will go on now as planned. If you are going in the tourney, take a lesson here and wear your PFD at all times on the water. Those who talk about the state of the Belwood pike fishery being bad are right, it sucks. But where else will catching a 24" pike get you $1500. If you catch even a little one, take it in, it might be the biggest one caught.
  3. Don't be surprised if the derby gets CANCELLED sometime late tonight or early tomorrow morning. http://news.therecord.com/News/BreakingNews/article/540976 If they don't find this poor fellow today, I'd be very surprised if they let a few hundred fishermen drag hooks through there tomorrow.
  4. Sounds like you have the north end of the lake figured out. Just keep the same approach in different locations.
  5. There are some shore spots for crappie, Stern Rules. Marko your computer screen is fine, the crappie were very dark.
  6. Met my buddy Griff at Shades today to check out his new boat. He got a We No Nah fisherman 14 foot royalex canoe. Nice boat. He caught a pike that was 18" but I wasn't close enough to take a pic. I caught this one that was 24" on a white 1/8oz jig & grub combo that Griff said he caught his on. I also caught 6 crappies, 3 rockbass (WGSF) and 2 small largies on the same white grub combo. The crappies were all around 8 or 9" long and all went back in the drink. The wind was picking up so we pulled out at 1:30pm after starting around 9:30am.
  7. I too have a daughter in grade 3, the same age as Tori. Shooting is too quick for these two. A long life in agony would be a fine punishment. The young woman better get the book thrown at her too. I don't want to see any of the crap that Karla Homolka got away with in that case here. She was the abductor, she should get everything he's going to get. There better not be any schizophrenia defense like that greyhound bus beheader guy got off on either. That is just crap.
  8. Try fishing off the concrete at the Caesarea launch. If I had to fish Scugog from shore, that would be my choice.
  9. The crappie get big in Scugog. I caught one last year that was 13". I'm sure they get bigger, maybe up to 16".
  10. Very impressive.
  11. I'm no carp expert Marko, but that one with the funny scales might be a mirror carp or maybe a mirror/common cross.
  12. I always gravitate towards smaller conservation area lakes when the wind blows over 30km/h. Find one with a launch in the northeast end of the lake as the wind will be blowing from the southwest. You can fight the wind early then blow back to the launch at the end of your day.
  13. No pike in there A2F, musky & bass (out of season), walleye, crappie and perch. Don't forget your white bucket, everyone else there will have one and you don't want to feel left out.
  14. Welcome hairwig. Nice set up for rubber lips you have there. Where do you buy that corn?
  15. Very nice report Cliff and some great pics. Congrats on the new PB pike.
  16. Supposed to be pike and bass in there as well as some panfish species. Also carp, suckers and catfish if bottom feeders are what you're after. Too many people just burning gas, jetskiers, water skiers, and people just generally ripping around for a kayaker like myself to enjoy the lake. Might be alot nicer on a weekday.
  17. Do you mean Conestogo lake north west of Elmira? There is no lake by that name anywhere near Cambridge. Here is a link. http://www.grandriver.ca/index/document.cf...=123&sub2=0
  18. Welcome to the board Joey. You picked a great place to buy a trailer. Just find weed edges and you'll find fish. Discovering your own spots and presentations that work will be the most rewarding. Looking forward to your reports and take lots of pics, we like pics .
  19. Medical supply stores stock them for scooters and electric wheelchairs. Best part, no tax on goods for the handicapped.
  20. Nice one Jamie. They do give a great sleigh ride, don't they.
  21. I fished this lake two years ago in the shallow end and caught a carp. I was thinking of going back and trying my luck for the pike that the conservation area's website says are in there. Does anyone have any experience on this lake? Any lures that were productive or areas that I should try? PM me if you would prefer, thank you.
  22. Maybe put a coat of paint on that canoe, if you've got any left over.
  23. Better luck next time HF. That lake looks too good to be without fish. Good looking dog you got as a new fishing partner as well. I'd say paint over the blue to match the red stain, but what do I know.
  24. Original six sounds good to me. Boston vs Chicago final.
  25. On a musky trip to Pigeon lake several years ago one of my friends left his card in the cottage. There was two of them in the boat and the C.O. informed them that they must both stop fishing and return to get it before fishing again. They were 4km from the cottage and the guy with his card wanted to keep fishing until lunchtime then go back. The C.O. said that unless they wanted to surrender all but one of their fishing rods to him, that they both have to be in possesion of their outdoors cards to continue fishing.
