  1. My little guy is already begging to go in the boat.... But usually a spin on the seat in the driveway does the job.... But today he took the controls... http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee516/roosnutz/8B9A3BA1-33A1-42E8-8337-7DDB84007AA3-4462-0000059F1095CE4B.mp4
  2. Actually got they didn't seem to mind strait 15 pound power pro last time either....
  3. I use 12lb mono and they don't seem to mind any...
  4. You ever hit a fish going 30 mph....?? It's a hazard
  5. Andre it depends on what kinda speed you want out of it.... If your gunna want to target musky and use the kicker.... Id go at least 9.9... Some days I'm getting musky going 5-6-7 mph... Against 1-3mph current... But walleye trolling is different.... 3mph max in 1-3 mph current....
  6. They did get a tv show deal On wild tv and pursuit channels
  7. They were introduced to our waters intentionally as a food fish.... As far as I know.... And again I'm not against bow hunting carp... Heck ill give you solid advice on structure and baiting if you'd like... Just be respectful to the resource.... And one CO to the next will give you different answers.... So I'd stick to what the regs say in the book.... I'm glad this hasn't gone nasty... And thanks to everyone involved for making valid arguments on the subject.... It is a grey area that can be twisted from one extreme to the other....
  8. This is from our regulations GENERAL PROHIBITIONS – IT IS ILLEGAL TO: ........ • Abandon fish or permit the flesh to spoil, if the fish is suitable for human consumption. And plenty of people consider carp a delicacy... Give it away to someone that will use the meat... And for those that say the MNR encourages anything other then harvesting for food or trophy mount should be reporting these officers that are enforcing based on their personal opinion...
  9. That's a bold statement.... Maybe for that area....
  10. Only tip I can give is remove your feathers.... My brother always did..... Also Keep in mind if your planning on shooting carp (wich most do) it should be for consumption.... Not to line the shore with rotting carcasses or to be left floating for boaters to hit... They are considered a sport fish BY MANY... so to kill them for no reason other then target practice and sport.... You might upset a few people... And I think your suposed to aim low because the water bends what you see....
  11. The great Len Hartman once said... "A rookie musky angler should buy the best gear possible to start... Then go cheap later on... Because an experienced musky angler can overcome obsticles that a rookie cannot..." $350 should get you a solid combo... The biggest factor in my opinion is the size of fish where you'll be fishing.... Is it a trophy fishery like Gbay Nippising st clair st lawrence...or more of a numbers fishery like a Kawartha lake (no offense... I wish I had fishing like that some days)... But a good all around rod would be a 7.5 foot heavy action st croix premier... I have a few of these.... My favorite rods for sure... As for a reel... Put a few in your hand and see how they feel..... I like my curado 300.... But it cost $300... I also have an Abu Garcia C3 or C4(can't remember wich... It's dark blue)... I paid $69.99 for it and its still going strong after 10 years of walleye, carp, and musky fishing...
  12. Nope... St Lawrence.... It's not a huge fish... Just "obese"... It was only 26 inches long...
  13. In all honesty I read the document and agree with it for the most part.... I've called the police several times because I couldn't launch my boat do to people swimming and loitering around the boat launch.... I do think this should be seasonal however.... Because the 2 marinas listed are popular fishing spots in the spring when boat traffic is at a minimum.... As well as ice fishing... And the Eco park listed has a small man made stream that has created a fall spawning run for the few trout and salmon we have in the st Lawrence... And this bylaw will protect those fish... The way this reads to me is it isn't city wide... Just a few small locations that are really busy with boaters... And Cornwall literally has miles of public shoreline to fish...
  14. I just read this ... http://domino.city.cornwall.on.ca/Active/Development/egenda.nsf/965d04e85bb82eb4852573ae007b4532/dc20dfab4b6d2406852579510067df1f?OpenDocument
