  1. hopefully the bears didn't get him...
  2. \ Wow.. didn't really state the cause... heart attack? RIP
  3. I just checked the lower unit gear oil after bringing it home. I trusted the seller when he said he checked it and was apparently good. It was not and I noticed one of the seals was shot... the oil was milky - not good! How serious is this? I drained the oil, and I will replace it once I purchase a new seal. The funny thing is the motor ran really well when I tested it. Started without a problem, impellar seemed to be functioning and sounded great. Can I buy seals at any marine dealer or must they be Honda seals? Should I have the engine checked by a Honda mechanic now? I am going to change the oil on it too since I don;t think he really changed anything on it for the entire time he owned it. Motor looks great b/c I don't think it was used much. It was on a sailboat. thanks
  4. oh i forgot to mention this: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
  5. Holy!! And you guys think a coyote has a chance against a deer??? No way.. I think the coyote predation on fawns is overblown after watching that.
  6. If it came down to that (heavy seas) I would not likely stay out long... My boat isn't that big. If it did get windy and rough I suppose I could use the main motor. Sounds like it should work, then.. The seller is telling me that the 4 stokes have more torque than the 2 cyl. Is this correct? I always thought that 4 strokes were not quite as "punchy" Thanks for the responses, fellas!
  7. Hey guys, I am in the market for a kicker motor for my 16'+ aluminum. I think the boat weighs roughly 1300lb. Is a 5 hp Honda adequate power for trolling on Lake Ontario and other big water? What do you think? Should I go for a 6 or 8 hp instead?
  8. Doesn't Stabil act as a counter agent? That is what I put in my tank on every fill up.
  9. Anyone else feel that??
  10. Why would the OMNR release this statement if it was a complete fabrication?

  12. As if Toronto hasn't been screwed enough.. one f-ing billion dollars for 12 hours of meetings.. tens of millions lost revenue (restaurants, etc..) We get nothing from the Feds.. one billion could have built 10km of subway lines.. This event should never be held in a big city.. put it on a cruie ship in the middle of the Pacific.. commie protesters can't swim
  13. Not worse than many other lakes in Ontario.. Try fishing Honey Harbour/Port severen... widow-maker waters...
  14. Isn't Cranberry a "private" lake with limited access?
  15. Is it just one colour or are there options? where to buy?
  16. I've fished that lake about 5 times... It was LipDip's descriptions and reports of Head that got me curious. I did catch smallmouth quite easily... no muskie, but didn't target them... no walleye yet.. I like the lake b/c it's small and not too far and has a good, free launch. Good weeds in the southeast "bay" In my humble opinion, one needs to fish a lake a good 5 to 10 times within a year or two to figure it out... at least..
  17. Great info! Thanks for sharing!
  18. Ya, nothing beats a palomar for ease and strength. I was curious if there were other good ones out there that might be even stronger...
  19. Hey folks, I am tinkering with knots this morning and I am wondering what your favourite knot is for tying floro leader line to terminal tackle (swivels, etc) or when tying directly to a lure like a spoon or crankbait? I have used polamar knots and even uni knots.. Thoughts?
  20. Hmm, interesting.. The specific one I buy (black container) says it's made for snowmobiles and PWC. Not specifically for outboards.
  21. Is that a synthetic oil? where can u get it?
  22. Do you really think there's tht much difference? I wonder what makes it so good?
  23. You're a disgusting pig!
  24. I use AMS OIL for my 2 stroke outboards, but it's expensive! What do you folks use?
