  1. That doesn't even look like a white tail... geez it's huge
  2. they're obviously not wise to the ways of hunters yet since there's no open season! two years off... i wonder what they tast like>\?
  3. Ottawa is barely profitable. They have little if any corporate support and if the dollar ever dips again, they're phacked...
  4. 62 pt seasons are thing of the past... the one point games will ensure that...
  5. Luck? they've played their asses off for the past 10 games... they've outplayed their opponets for the past 10 games...
  6. They will be lucky lucky to get into the playoffs... but they will improve from last season. And Boston won't get a juicy pick... Kessel is a great player and the crop of young payers in their system is the best I've seen in the 32 years I've been watching this team. I look forward to the future... it' not here yet! But as my original post stated, they are quite a bit better than their first 6 or 7 games... their past 8 games prive this point. check your math... it's off with the one pointers.. No team will ever get 54 pts again I will say this much more- I would take this Leaf roster any day over the Mtl roster.
  7. That looks like a good eater...
  8. Ya I saw that too.. thanks...
  9. Do you think this is one of those animals from that Alberta heard or was it a "native" - did the MNR release in that area?
  10. Hey folks, Just picked up a pair of Irish Setter Mt Claw boots (600g thin.) The retailers weren't very helpful with how to care for the product... but the price was so great, couldn't care at this point! So what should I do for an initial "treatment"? I have a Gortex spray... I also have mink oil. Should I use something else? Should I just leave them alone and wait til the get dirty? Thanks!
  11. That is a gorgeous animal... Where was this???
  12. So I went with the Irish Setter Mt. Claw XT 600 Thinsulate. They're really comfy...nice design and quite light - gortex as well I just hope the 600 gr. thinsulate is adequate. I fugure I can wear some quality wool socks to add heat. I cant beleive the pricing! only $90! for gortex... I love America! I also bought a Field and Stream "Micro Tricot Quad Parka" for $120 (reg. $170) Nice breathable and weatherproof hunting jacket/coat in real tree camo. It's one of those reversible jackets... looks and feels great... So I'm set! By the way, I bought these items at Dick's (Galleria Mall). Went to Gander and almost bough the Danner's for $170. I found them bulkier and heavier - probably cause of the 1000g thinsulate. For $90 I could resist the Irish Setters Thanks to the Buffalo area folks who helped me out.. Cheers
  13. there are no fish at the toronto islands...
  14. The icing on the cake is that Tampa beat the CanadiAns
  15. As I posted in the anti-Leaf thread couple weeks back, the Leafs are playing up to their potential... There's no way that start was indicative of the way this team CAN play! Things are looking up.. that's their 7th game where they outplayed their opposition... they should be 8-3-2
  16. The best part about road kill is that it has been tenderized... Mmmmm tenderized road-kill deer
  17. My cousin has Rocky boots and they leak... although they arent gortex
  18. Can you move around in them? I mean if you're trecking 10, 15, 20km in a day long hike for rabbit, etc, will tye be comfortable?
  19. How about an 8" switch blade?!
  20. I didn't wanna say anything... but ya, that was a weird response to my post!!! I should have added that I really do want as light a pair of boots as possible...
  21. That's a bit of a strange website!
  22. thanks i'll check that out...
  23. with due respect, are you really surprised? this is how the world works, and how it will always work
  24. excellent.. I am considering both I think I'm leaning toward gortex
  25. Hey gang, I am just getting into hunting. I want to purchase a good quality boot and I need comfy shoes since I tend to have some issue with my feet. I have a high arch/instep. I don't mind spending a bit more if I have to to get comfortable boots. I plan on hunting a variety of game so I could be standing in a deer stand, turkey hunting or moving around for rabbit, grouse,etc... I will probably hunt waterfowl too. I know there's no perfect one -boot-for-all-applications, but would might come close? I hear Danner amd Irish Setter are good boots. I've also been told to stick to 800 thinsulate min. Any thoughts? Thanks
