I've been like a kid waiting for the prize from a cereal box offer! Found this on E-Bay and had to have it for my Rec Room (yet to be built). Not sure how many of you know that Rocket Richard's passion for hockey was second only to his passion for fishing. One of his ventures after he retired was to buy the General Fishing Line Co. He would spool the line off bulk spools in his basement and travel around the province selling them to Tackle Shops. To think that the mighty Rocket may have handled these spools!! Package also included an original pricelist The guy still has another lot listed on E-Bay if anyone is interested. Click Here E-Bay Item My next goal is to try and dig up some of the nylon line that he used to sell. I read an excellent magazine article in my Dentists office awhile ago that focused on his fishing experiences. Anyone know what magazine that was? I would like to try and find it. Does anyone know anymore of the history of the General Fishing Line Co. and the Rocket??

Technically, I believe you're supposed to send the titles to the border 5 days ahead of time and they will conduct the search so make sure your not taking anything out of the country that may still have a lien on it. As Bob said you have to pay the $200 rip off and get Canadian Tire to inspect your vehicle (trailer). You must also have the recall notice from the trailer manufacturer. You should get 3 separate titles (boat, motor, trailer).
-
Pictures, we want pictures!!!
-
Make absolutely sure that you have Titles for boat, motor and trailer, otherwise, your boat will be impounded until you present them. I speak from experience Definitely worth doing though!!

Welcome aboard Tallboy, Put your feet up and stay awhile. Don't forget, we like pics!

Best Steelhead Fishing Day Ever With My Grandpa! (lots Of Pics)
bpsbassman replied to Minnow's topic in General Discussion
If you think that was the best day of steelhead YOU had, you have no idea of what that probably did for your Grandpa!!!!!! Great report, one of the best I've read in a long time!! -
Will be crossing the border tomorrow to help our American friends celebrate. The wife is all pumped for Black Friday. Are we nuts The plan though is to go somewhere for a relaxing breakfast while the idiots beat up on each other for the Door Crashers and hopefully pick up a few bargoons later in the day. We haven't been away together since spring, so I can't complain given all the fishing I did all year. All the best to our American OFNers!!

House Approves State Funeral For Last WWI Vet Nf
bpsbassman replied to bpsbassman's topic in General Discussion
Interesting point Gary. No matter where he has lived the past 80 years (wow), he put his life on the line for fellow Canadians at the time. Hopefully the gov't wouldn't bungle it. -
Nice to know that a few OFNers helped make a differrence. The petition was posted on the old board and it looks like the government listened for a change! The House of Commons has voted unanimously in favour of having a state funeral when the last Canadian veteran of the First World War dies. The motion, introduced by the NDP, asked the government to honour all who served in the First World War by sponsoring a state funeral. Of the 619,636 Canadians who served between 1914 and 1918, only three are still alive: Percy Wilson, 105, and Lloyd Clemett and John Babcock, both 106. A state funeral is one of the highest honours a country can bestow on a person, but they're traditionally reserved for prime ministers and governors general. The motion was prompted by an online petition launched by the Dominion Institute, a national organization that promotes Canadian history. "We want to thank the tens of thousands of Canadians who signed our petition in support of state funeral," Rudyard Griffiths, the director of the Dominion Institute, said in a statement. "By passing a motion to offer a full state funeral today the Parliament of Canada will allow a grateful nation to pay proper tribute to our last Great War veteran on his passing and honour the over 600,000 Canadians he served with under arms from 1914-1918." The Institute said that since Nov. 6, around 100,000 Canadians had signed the petition.

I'm not really up on what exactly happened, but I'm with Whopper, if that's a sincere apology for something that appears to have upset a lot of people, then it takes a big man (not just physically buddy) to write a note like that. We all learn by making mistakes, getting up, wiping ourselves off and moving on. Good on ya bud.

Friday the 29th, although Wednesday or Thursday would probably work as well.
