  1. Same thing I did Joe . I have been deer hunting since I was 12 going to be 73 in a couple months . I have trouble with the cold my feet and hands mostly . This year is pretty mild weather wise here in PA . The other problem my wife is not a big fan of deer meat so I give most of it away . Hang in there you are not alone . I'm just happy I can still chase Muskies but with the size of the lures thats starting to slow me down .
  2. Nice looking Muskie and Walleye thanks for the report and pictures . Good luck the rest of the season .
  3. Nice fish the Upper French has been tough for us our last couple trips . See some real hogs just can't get them to eat . Thanks for the report
  4. I learned years ago nothing you can do about the weather just grin and bare it . Its just tough you wait all year for your trip and mother nature throws you curve LOL.
  5. Just got back from a week of Muskie fishing on Balsam , Sturgeon and Pigeon with my son . The weather was not the best except Wednesday lots of rain and wind one day on Balsam the wind hit 17 mph some big white caps . Ended the week with 9 Muskies in the boat and saw or had hits or hooked fish 26 other times . Biggest for the week was 44" best lures were spinners and bulldogs . We did have 7 follows from fish 40" or bigger . The last 2 days we had some motor problems a throttle sensor went bad and the Mercury dealer didn't have the part so we couldn't go at slow speeds or idle . Can't wait to come back next year . Here is one of my sons fish from Balsam.

  10. We haven't fished Big Bald for several years but when Pigeon Lake gets real windy we fish Bald . We are Muskie fisherman and usually boat a couple Muskies and bigger Bass on our Muskie lures there . Plenty of rocky ledges and weeds to fish . Good Luck

  18. Sounds like a pretty good day of Muskie fishing . NO wonder you are going back today for more good luck .
  19. We were up Oct 1 - 8 fished Balsam 17 hrs only had 2 follows and 1 hit from Muskies . We caught several Pike and had some nice Smallmouth follow in our Muskie lures . You are going to the right area South Bay and Ant Island weed edge should produce for you we do well there both with Tigers and Pures . Good Luck looking forward to your report .
  20. I sent you a PM just got back from a Oct 1 -8 trip we fished Balsam , Pigeon and Sturgeon and you are right Sturgeon was the best Lake for numbers and size . There were 3 different groups of people fishing Sturgeon around that week all did pretty good . If you want some help send me a email .
  21. You had a good week Pete for never fishing Sturgeon before . Next year team USA may need a handy cap with you and Mikey getting all this Muskie knowledge maybe just 30 or 35" head start . It was nice meeting you and we did have a fun day . Talk to you latter
  22. I took my son fishing when he was around 4 years old I hope by now that he is 48 he learned something over the years LOL . He is a casting machine he can cast all day , poor Dad needs a break once in a while from casting those double 10's .
  23. Just got back from a week of Muskie hunting with my son . We fished Balsam 17 hrs only had 2 follows and one hit from Muskies we did boat a couple small Pike . Went to Pigeon on Tuesday only one in the boat and 1 follow . Once again Sturgeon Lake saved our week in 4 days we boated 11 and had follows , hits and lost hooked fish from 23 other Muskies biggest was only 43" but we saw or had hits from 7 or 8 over 40" fish saw one that was a high 40" fish . Saturday on Sturgeon we had a small Can-Am only 3 boats my son and I each fished with a Canadian and the other boat had 2 Canadians in it . Who ever is behind by lunch time pays for lunch . My son carried the USA team again this year he boated a 43" er and a 30" er before 1 pm the Canadians only had a 37" and a 31" so I want to thank Pete and Mikey for our lunch . By the end of the day the total was 6 Muskies boated another 15 follows , hits and lost fish a fun day but the USA gets bragging rights for yet another year with a total of 110" for the day . We had another Canadian friend come over for the day he is a Bass guy he boated 4 or 5 Smallies around 2 lbs and a couple Large Mouths but he also boated a 35" Muskie and had a 40" Muskie break off at the boat one on a rattle trap the other a small swim bait I'm glad he wasn't on team Canada LOL . I make the rules so next year I'll have a rule no Bass lures allowed in the Can-Am Muskie tournament . Now the sad part I have to wait a whole year to fish the Kawartha's again you guys are lucky to have such good fishing in Ontario
  24. Nice fish maybe now she will take Dad shark fishing
