We use the public launch on Bass Lake Rd just outside of Bobcaygeon . Not much parking but the launch is Ok we have a 19 1/2 ft Bass tracker and launch no problem . Its also on the north end a couple mins from Big Island -

My son and I stayed at several different places on Sturgeon over the years The White Swan Cottages on the Bobcaygeon end of the lake is nice and clean . New owners took over a couple years ago haven't stay with them because we have been staying on Balsam and trailering our boat to Sturgeon and Pigeon when we come up . I'll send you a PM on fishing Sturgeon if you are going there . Good luck.

Hi Guys Just got back from a week of Muskie fishing with my son . We fished Balsam and Sturgeon lakes boated 18 Muskies saw another 25 from follows , hits and hooked and lost fish . Biggest was 44" most were between 36" and 39" all were healthy and fat except 2 that had sores on them . We caught 2 Tigers on Balsam along with a couple Pike up to 29" also caught several Bass 2-4 lbs on our Muskie lures . We didn't see a Walleye all week we usual see a couple nice ones on our jerk and glide baits . Dad caught the biggest for the week so I won the $10 but then on the way home I bought lunch LOL . I have to wait until spring Striper season for my next fishing fix so everyone good luck with the rest of the season .

My Grandson and i along with a good Canadian friend and his 3 boys fished Buckhorn this past week and had a fun time . The boys learned how to fish senko's , tubes and top water lures for Bass and we boated around 30 and lost a bunch that were hooked but came unpinned . The biggest was 4lb LM we also had a couple 2 lb SM but most of the Bass were 8" -12" . The Muskie fishing was OK we had 13 follows several Muskie hits near the boat and boated 3 . The good part is my grandson and one of the other boys caught their first Muskie ever which was my goal of the week . They learned how tough Muskie fishing can be casting big baits and working them for hours without seeing anything but it paid off . My Canadian friend took my grandson and another boy out one evening and they were casting tubes for Bass my grandson ask a question Why are we casting tubes for Bass when we could be fishing for Muskies . I guess I have another Muskie hunter in the family
