Wish I could find my thong, it was pretty funny when I wore it; well everyone pointed and laughed!

Saddly, you are right, do ten good things, no one remembers, do one bad thing, no one forgets kind of attitude. Only a fool would judge all police officers (or any other group) by the actions of a few so if being judged by fools means something to you then I guess it matters. Apart from that if you can hold your head up high knowing that you are honorable then that is all that should matter. A poem that I learned way back in school and never forgot sums it up quite nicely for me. 'if' by rudyard kipling If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream - and not make dreams your master, If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!" If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son! Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)

Right off the bat, if any one feels this is spam, please advise a mod and they have my blessing to remove it immediatly. I just came across a really good deal and would rather be accused of spam than not share it. The company I am working for just got a super deal on some generators. The Mfg. is Kipor, look it up if you would like, just type Kipor into any search engine. They normally retail for about $800.00 but my boss bought a whole load of them and is selling them for $450.00 + tax FOB Lindsay (just slightly above his cost). These are NEW units, still in the box and supply is limited to "while supplies last". They will still be available after this but not at this price. BTW, I am not making a penny off this, no comission, no finders fee, I just bought one for myself and paid exactly $450.00 + tax so call this spam or call it someone trying to share a good deal with fellow OFNr's. If you have any questions please PM me, If you want one, I can pick it up for you or you can pick it up yourself in Oakwood. Big Cliff

(Non-Fishing)..Need help with Lawnmower issues
Big Cliff replied to TroutnMuskieHunter's topic in General Discussion
Well, it could be any of the things already mentioned, simplest one to try is as suggested, when it starts to die, loosen the gas cap, if it is a tank vent problem, that will fix it (well, that will tell you where the problem is). Usually though if it is a tank vent problem it will run longer as the tank gets emptier (more air in the tank). Cleaning the carb.... could be but if it quits after about the same length of time each time????? Oh and by the way if you haven't done it before and you do decide to try it yourself.... you should probably just save yourself some time and go to CTC, LOL. It's not rocket science but if you have never done one before, it's like driving a car, easy when you know how! Coil over heating, could be..... If you do decide to replace the coil, setting the flywheel to coil gap is important .012" with the magnets to the coil. Also, becareful to not try cranking the engine over without the HT (spark plug) lead grounded you could ruin the new coil. Spark plug.... seen that happen before but not where it does it regulary after 5 minutes.. not a big job to check though, without looking it up I believe that plug should be an Champion RJ19LM, when you take it out of the box, the gap will probably be set around .025, reset the gap to .040". it will still work but not as well as it should. If all else fails, come fishing down here one weekend, I'll fix it for you. Please don't throw it out, I am always looking for "projects" that I can salvage for parts etc.. I have an apprentice working with me now and no matter how bad something is, it is an excellent opportunity for him to learn. Nothing gets wasted. Try the above and let me know what happens. -
Once again work got in the way of me having fun with the gang. Glad to hear that you are all safe and everyone seemed to have a good time!

Hit Lindsay abour 3:20 PM, rain and hail the size of peas, could hardly see to drive for about 20 minutes, then it cleared out.

Priceless!!!!!!!!!

Gary, I am so sorry to hear of Amy's passing. I remember about a year ago when it was touch and go for a while and we all breathed a sigh of relief when she pulled through. I guess God just needed another special dog too much this time! Keep strong my friend and keep her memories alive in your heart.

It is a wonderful bond that forms between us and our beloved pets, all they ever want is a little food and water and a bit of affection and they give us their hearts, always eager to please, always happy to be with us. Is it any wonder why we miss them so much when they are gone, we have just lost a part of our lives. Keep the memory alive!

Big Cliff and ccmt put the impeller on last weekend! LOL Glad to hear you had a wonderful fathers day, the rain held off here most of the day with one quick burst around 2:30 but it was over almost as quickly as it started. The big storm hit here around 7:45, lots of rain and wind, it seems to be clearing again right now though. A few branches down, our lawn chairs blown across the lawn but no other damage that I can see.

Let it be known to all man kind that Beans NEVER laid a hand on MY balls! I did carfully put Squid's balls in a box which Beans carried to his car with the dignity of a pallbearer.

Clamp-it, when I needed help to put my dock in it was cold, the water was cold, the wind was howling and the dock was heavy. These wonderful people showed up and helped me when I needed it inspite of the weather. We are happy to open our home and our hearts to any of them any time. John, I would love to invite every OFNr but our place just isn't that big, we only have 67' of shore line so we are kind of limited to the amount of people we can accomodate or feed at a time. You and your wife or fishing buddy would be most welcome at anyother time (there are usually a few OFNr's around) and I would really like to meet you too and even try to arrange another mini tournament.
-
OK, as promised, as a thank you to all that came to help put our dock in this spring. Aug. 9 is appreciation day. Any that want to are welcome to come on the 8th, the guest room is already booked but there is plenty of room to tent and washrooms and showers are available and you are welcome to stay over for the 10th as well. The day will consist of a mini fishing tournament and if we get enough fish, I'll do a fish fry the evening of the 9th. There will be plenty of burgers and such available (just in case) and I'll do a brunch for the morning of the 9th and 10th for those that stay over and there will be a light lunch available on the 9th and 10th as well. Only rules; no smoking in the house and BYOB & boats (or fish off the dock). We'll try our best to supply everything else. RSVP so we can have an idea of how much food to supply.. Cliff Sue, and Andy.

Hey, it just dawned on me. The minute I hand them over to Beans they become Squid's balls! Whew, sorry Beans but the thought of you holding my balls in your hands had me kind of nervous they might not be very big but they sure are heavy LOL! So Squid, as of tomorrow you can worry about them LOL.
-
Nice fish! Your AC guy sounds like he'd make a good OFNr!
-
All these guys wanting to grab my balls is scaring me LOL. Arangements have been made, I am going over to CPH's place tomorrow morning to help him with a minor plumbing problem. Beans will meet me there, I may not get to Lacair again this year but my balls will (not sure I like the sound of that ) Is there anything Team OFC can't do when we work together?
-
Pete, no problem, you did ask first and they are still yours if you want them. A couple of more weeks won't make that much difference. If your needs have changed then I'll pass them along. douG; Oh well, it's good to know my balls are worth something LOL.
-
Some time last year I posted that I had a set of downrigger balls free to a good home (I can't find the thread anymore). They are sitting in a bag in my garage with Pete's name on them and I am getting tired of moving them so Pete, you've got a week to get them out of my way or they are up for grabs to the first person that wants them (and will get them out of here).

Been there, done that although it was 27 years ago. It was very hard at the time but we kept civil and as others have said, you did love each other once. Ours was a little more complicated, we had two children but I guess we did ok, today my ex and my wife are friendly, my kids love Sue as much as if she was their biological mother, and both my ex and I have a lot of respect and love for each other and I think it could be said we are good friends. The most important thing is that if you aren't happy, DO SOMETHING about it, life is far too short to waste a single day being un happy if you don't have to be. Now, time to take this off the net, if you would like to talk, I'm here 705-328-0750. Big Cliff

Wonderful report and pics, it's really nice to see a couple of young fellows getting out and having a weekend fishing trip like that.

A little motor maintenance, fishing, and good times.

Ya, there are a few little things that the manual doesn't tell you LOL, like how to get the hole in the shift leaver lined up with the hole in the shaft and that took us a few minutes and a few tries to figure out but now that we know how, it's easy. It turned out that Cliff's owners manual was easier to follow than the service manual, I think the service manual was trying to cover too many different combinations of features. Now that we have done it once, I'll bet we could do it in 1/4 of the time with no problem, well, if we didn't have so many friends stopping by wanting their lawn mower blades sharpened or just to say hi LOL. I really enjoyed working on it with Cliff, we both got to learn a lot and we seem to work really well together, he is very patient and observent. I'd tackle just about any project with him any time. As always it was a real pleasure spending time with you and I always have a ball with Sydney, I hope Fuzzy Wuzzy Soft is still doing well in his new home (it's a long story LOL) suffice to say caterpiller in a jar and a little girl..... Got to go to work. -
Spectacular! Raf, those are the kind of shots some photographers only dream of getting. We often see the osprey snatching a fish out of the lake in front of here but I've never had the opportunity to get a picture of it. last year we were sitting out on the deck and one plucked a fish from the lake, it was headed straight toward us and the fish was a good size. The osprey was having trouble gaining altitude and bairly cleared the roof on our house, it couldn't have been more than 10' away from us. Unfortunatly all we have is the memory but at least we have that!
-
Some of the most beautiful things in nature happen when you are not expecting them. I walk out on my deck with my coffee and an osprey glides by a meer 50' away; I walk out on my deck with my camera and the osprey is a small dot in the distance LOL. So, from now on TAKE YOUR CAMERA! lol.
-
Makes me home sick and I've never even been there. Thank you so much for sharing those beautiful pictures with us. In two years, Sue and I want to take a couple of months and head to the East coast, that will have to be one stop on our trip for sure.

My flag flies high and proud for you and the others like you who serve our country and keep us safe. God bless you all!
