Call Carra back, talk to Sam, even if he doesn't have them, he will tell you who does. If Sam isn't available get the name of whoever you are talking to then ask them for the name and number of who might have minnows. Sam takes great pride in helping his customers even if he can't help them directly. He'd sure want to know if his staff weren't trying to do the same!

To remove sap from your boat: Start motor, engage throttle quickly, push sap out of boat. Works every time! Actually, try the butter or WD 40.

Thanks Chuck, that means a lot coming from an experienced hunter like you!

Land, it's the only thing they can't make any more of. In all my years, realestate has been the best investment I have ever made in the long run. (well, apart from time with my family and friends)!

313 Snug Harbour Rd. Lindsay Tel. 705-328-0750 I work Mondat to Friday in a shop here in town and Saturdays here at my own shop but anytime you are coming this way would be good for me. As I said, it will have to be a "spare time" project for me but it will be done in time for spring!

Sinker, I'd love to get out with you any time, fishing or hunting and yes, I do hunt ducks and geese (almost anything I can eat). I am busy weekday mornings and Saturday morning but free most evenings and Sunday mornings. Just let me know when! TUF, mostly because of my age, I tried a compound bow but wasn't comfortable with it. I decided on a cross bow after I was loned one to try. I have gun hunted most of my life and this was just a natural change over for me. I did a lot of research with Sam's help, make sure you talk to as many people as you can that will not just sell you something but take the time to help you select what is best for you. I actually enjoy this much more than gun hunting for deer, this is much more of a challange in that you have to get up close and personal with the bow. Last night I had 4 or more deer walk right under my tree stand, I could have easily gotten one with the shotgun but had to wait until I had a good clear shot. What ever you get, make sure it has the power to do the job. The doe I got last night I knicked ribs on the way in, took out both the lungs, clipped the heart, knicked a rib on the way out and broke her front leg. She dropped on the spot, got up, ran a few yards and was dead in seconds. HearingFish, My buddy is suppose to email them to me, I'll post as soon as he does. Beans, I told Tony and Meeley where to go, I got this one less than 100 yards from where I showed them. There are lots more in the area. Are you guys listening? LOL. Leechman: Good luck on your hunt!

No Roy and she doesn't help me clean fish either but she sure loves eating them LOL.

I'd be happy to look at it over the winter for you if you would like, I am too busy doing golf carts, chainsaws, and snow blowers right now to do it for you. I am a small engine mechanic but I don't usually work on marine engines. Probably nothing more than a gummed up carb or a stuck piston ring, most likely a gummed up carb or it wouldn't even sputter. Both easy fixes anyway. OFNr's don't pay for labour, just cover my materials. Let me know.

Well, as some of you know I started bow hunting last year and to be honest I was a little apprehensive about shooting deer with a crossbow. I have heard a lot of stories about game being wounded and not being found and that really bothers me! I don't like to hurt anything and have it suffer. I have also heard just as many stories about game being wounded with a gun and not being found so I decided to see for myself. I have been hunting most of my life and never lost a deer that I shot with a gun, I'd give the crossbow a chance. I was very careful in my selection and with Sam's help decided on a Middelton crossbow, it was the fastest, hardest hitting crossbow I could find and Sam very kindley helped me get outfitted and took the time to make sure I understood how to use it properly. Last fall I was rewarded with a very nice spike buck for my efforts. This year I haven't had much chance to get out but yesterday evening I decided to try one of my old stands not far from here and about 6:20 pm I had five nice does standing right in front of me. I picked one that was broadside to me at about 40 yards and I got her; nice clean shot and she was down in seconds. So far I've only shot at two deer with my crossbow and both were harvested very quickly, I think I'm hooked, this beats gun hunting any day.

if you launch at Lindsay, you will be below the lock so straight down the river to the lake.

We've lost one of the nicest people on the board

I just got in the door to grab a bite to eat and saw this thread. What a terrible feeling! Gary will be missed by many besides his bilogical family, he was a truly a wonderful person. My condolances to his family and friends! -
Found this tucked under my wiper this morning.

Personally, I would go back there fishing again only this time I would put up a game camera in some obscure spot to watch over my car, then if he leaves another ticket or does any damage to your car you have proof and could call the OPP yourself. I believe he has done this just to scare you away, I wonder how many times it has worked before? -
Are you offering to fix it if she supplies the parts? If so, I'll be happy to help anyway I can, I have all the tools just not much time and I don't usually work on outboards. From the sound of it she probably isn't going to have it back in the water for a while and by the end of this month things should start to slow down a bit for me.
-
Congrats Roger! Just don't do what I did, I retired in 2003 and now I work longer and harder than I ever did when I worked for a living LOL. Retirement for me is doing what I love to do, when I want to do it (well doesn't always work out that way LOL).

The water pump failing has probably caused the engine to over heat and that could have caused the damage to the engine, the low compression could be caused by several things but almost all of them expensive fixes as it would require the motor to be torn down. Looking for a good used motor might be a good idea as rebuilding some of these older engines ends up putting a lot of strain on other components and often causes something else to fail. Oh the joy of owning a boat!

Moe, I'll gladly do it for you if you get the parts, just not right now. I'm currently working 7 days a week 10+ hours a day as it is and I've got about 3 weeks of work ahead of me and it just keeps coming (I'm not complaining) things should start to slow down a bit in the next few weeks so hopfully I can get caught up a bit. I am trying to hire someone to help me but good help is hard to find. If I can find someone in the next week or so, I might be able to fit you in sooner.

We always enjoy it when we can get together with friends and family be it fishing or just sitting around enjoying their company. Thanks again to all that helped make it such a wonderful weekend inspite of what the weather was doing, we are already looking forward to your next visits.
-
Spent what I could of the weekend trying to put people on fish, I wasn't very successful apart from some pan fish and a few SM. The weather made it hard as every time anyone tried to get out, it would start raining again. Winds shifting all over the place and a cold front sure can make it tough. Still had a fantastic weekend though! Catching was tough but the company was incredable.

Very nicely done! Congrats!

As you know Roy, you have a standing invitation any time you want to come, we still talk about the last time you and J came up and I still make that beautiful paella (sp) that you made that night, mine is never quite as good as the one you made, guess I need more lessons LOL. Hint hint.
-
Couldn't miss out on a chance for a hug from that beautiful Miss Sydney again LOL. Did her bug catcher survive the trip home OK? Really looking forward to this weekend, hope the weather and fish co-operate. Cliff, Sue, and Andy!

Guess she loves me more Beans! LOL

Moe, as always it was a pleasure and I was glad that I could help out. BTW, thank you so very much for the box of doughnuts they were sure a big hit with everyone. Sorry I couldn't spend more time with you but with 35 people to feed brunch to I kind of had my day booked for me LOL. Those darn kids made me drink about 4 or 5 beers (I lost track after about two) and kept me up until almost midnight, I must have looked a sorry sight (I know I felt kind of rough LOL). Anway, if it does give you any more trouble, let me know and just remember "If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem"!

I don't know how much better luck you could hope for? You made it in safe didn't you! Storm took down three trees at work today, one ended up right against our shop, good thing it wasn't 20' taller!
