  1. You are very welcome, glad it finally got there, hope you put them to good use! Cliff
  2. I kind of have mixed emotions regarding it. On one hand, I would like to see it open, I don't think Scugog is any better equiped to handle the fishing pressure than let say Sturgeon Lake. On the other hand, I have seen the amount of garbage that gets dumped down the holes and on shore in many places where ice fishing is allowed. I'm not really sure I'd like to see that happen here on our lake. Perhaps open it to fishing with reduced limits, no huts allowed.... They could even issue a special license for it to cover the cost of enforcement and perhaps even some restocking. (I know, I know ANOTHER LICENSE) There is always room for compromise!
  3. It is the people, from the members to the Mods, to the founder that make OFC so special and so very different from most sites out there. We are family!
  4. Did you try tracking it with the tracking # I gave you? I will file a claim with them on Monday Morning. Cliff
  5. No one on this board has done anything for you that you wouldn't have done for them given the opportunity. We are all thinking of you and wish you nothing but the best!
  6. OK. a friend of mine is here and he said that if you can locate the fuse for the security system, pull the fuse and that should do it for you.
  7. First of all, send him a letter telling him you are disputing his claim and that he is not to contact you further unless it is to advise you of a court date. He will not be allowed to harass you any more with bills or phone calls! If he does, let me know! It is against the law! If he wants to take you to court, let him but when he files a claim, you get to file a defence (and a counter claim if you wish and I would do it claiming lost wages to appear in court and any costs incured ie. filing etc.). It will cost him money to file the claim, he (and you will have to attend a settlement conference) at which time a judge will advise: him to drop the claim, you to pay him, or the two of you to try to work out a settlement. (You don't have to do any of the above). Then it if goes to court, that will cost him more money and time, and then the court will set a date and you will both have to attend. You can ask for delays if you want (I'll fill you in if necessary) Now, what I would do is wait until he files the original claim with the court, then I would talk to a paralegal (less expensive than a lawyer) and file the defense and counter claim. Worst case senario the case goes to court, a judge agrees with his claim, you have to pay the claim, pre trial intrest, and some costs (typically small claim court is capped at $300.00 but it could be more, it's up to the judge). What is likely to happen: He drops the claim. ( It was supposed to be a simple remedy but it has turned into a nightmare) If he doesn't, you end up in court, Small Claims Court is supposed to be all about fairness and fair in this case would seem to me to be "were you promissed something for free and then later billed for it"? That would be my impression BUT would a judge see it the same way? Only the judge can answer that question and it is a crap shoot. I have seen lots of cases that should have been a slam dunk go the opposite way just because the judge didn't understand what was going on. Short case advice: Fight it! Talk to me if you need help! Oh ya, I'm not a lawyer, or a paralegal, I don't charge anything, I've just been through the system a few times trying to collect money and to be honest, I wouldn't bother doing it again. It is a farce!
  8. There is something wrong Cody, it was in Waterloo as of Wed. according to Canada Post. You should have had it by now, I sent it Express Post and insured. If you don't have it today, I am going to file a claim with Canada Post.
  9. Chickenhawk, I sent your package out to you on Monday as promissed, looks like they tried to deliver it yesterday but couldn't for some reason. Is there a problem? Cliff
  10. OK, well never did hear back from Stan (Hearingfish) So I have to assume he can't go. Looks like that leaves John, CPH, and myself. We'll work something out!
  11. I would do it, any overnight huts available like on Nipissing? I would prefer to go for a weekend!
  12. I'd be interested!
  13. My heart and prayers got out to Chris, Rob, and the whole family! Forever in our hearts!
  14. OK, just got an email back from Rob. "I have space a 6 person bungalow available Jan 23rd and 30th weekend. My weekend rate is $170 per person plus tax". Jan. 23 rd weekend would be my choice: So, I need firm commitments and deposits but before you do: NO smoking in the hut I don't care if it is -75 out side. If you want to have a drink or two (or whatever) no problem, if you are going to get drunk and stupid and make a mess of things for everyone else, this probably isn't the place to do it. The whole purpose of this weekend is to fish, relax, enjoy, and have a good time. So far the following have asked to join in. I have asked Rob to hold that hut for me for a day or two, so if we are going to do this we will have to book soon! CPH John Hearingfish (not sure if he wants to do his own thing or not) So, please confirm so I can get this booked.

Please confirm: Misfish can't make it that weekend, looks like we have at least one spot open. I have asked Rob to hold that hut for me for a day or two, so if we are going to do this we will have to book soon! CPH John Memart (Rob) Hearingfish (not sure if he wants to do his own thing or not) So, please confirm so I can get this booked.
  16. OK, I just sent Rob an email to see what he has available and what his prices are. I'll let you know what I find out.
  17. When we first moved here we had a real problem with our well, sulpher and E Coli. I was told to put 1 cup of Javex into the well (Our well is a drilled well and they calculated the well held about 85 gal of water at any given point in time). We did not use the water for drinking directly from the tap, we would put it in an open container and let it sit for a day before drinking it so that the chlorine would evaporate off. Anyway, it worked for about two weeks at a time our water would be free of the sulpher smell and test E Coli free. We ended up putting in a system (ariation) to remove the sulpher and iron, a UV system to kill any bacteria, and for good measure a 5 stage RO system for our drinking water. I am told that if we take anything out of our drinking water, it won't be water anymore LOL. Realize this doesn't ANSWER your question but hope it helps!
  18. You did what had to be done, as you said, keeping her around while she suffered would have been selfish. Keep her in your heart forever.
  19. OK, who runs a good charter out of South Nipissing The one we went on was first class but I can't remember the name of the operator. I'm a little too old for the "wild" weekend thing LOL, don't mind an occasional drink or two but I can fall down without getting drunk LOL. Why not see if we can set something up. Lets start by finding an operator, setting a date, getting a crew together. If we can, I would prefer to have 6 people in an 8 person hut. (I'm not called "Big Cliff" for nothing) (Oh and I do snore but not very loud and would probably fish most of the night anyway LOL). Operators please?
  20. A few years ago I and a few friends spent a weekend Ice fishing on Nipissing. We had an 8 man hut but there were only 6 of us which worked out really well because we had room to move and 2 spare bunks to store our gear out of the way. ( I don't like being crowded) It was a trip to remember, the "hut" was wonderful, gas fireplace cook stove, TV/VCR BBQ (outside). I would love to do something like that again this winter but of the group I went with last time, 2 have moved away, one is very ill and probably will not be able to go again, and the other one is going to be down South for the winter and one just got laid off and needs to keep a tight reign on his finances. Anyone got a trip planned and need someone to fill in? Only thing I ask is no smoking in the hut!
  21. Really depends on what you have for accomodations. We did a weekend thing on Nipissing a few years ago and had a blast, what we did was have one person pick up all the food and then we split on it. Everyone was responsible for their own booze, clothing and fishing tackle (bait was supplied) We made sure we had lots of snacks and munchies and that was about it. (Oh some cards if you have room for a card table).
  22. Sorry, they are both spoken for! thanks for all the suggestions though!
  23. Well put Beans! What I would like to know is if these companies are in so much trouble, how come all their CEOs are getting multi million $ bonuses?
  24. OK, but I go to bed about 9:00 pm LOL.
