  1. Dan, thank you so much! Just got confirmation that I have the lawn tractor Now all I need is to find a couple of scrapped sleds.
  2. I'm thinking on it, it would be ideal for me living right on the lake. Anyone got two old sleds with the tracks and suspension in reasonable shape that they need a home for? I've already got a line on a lawn tractor for the drive train. Well, since it is basically a lawn tractor with tracks I'm not sure that a license and insurance would be necessary, I think my liability insurance would cover me for damage to anyone elses property. Feedback from those that know would be appreciated.
  3. Thank you so much!
  4. Yesterday I saw a link to a video of a motorized ice hut, I was telling my son about it last night and wanted to send him the link but I can't find it this morning. Could someone tell me which thread it is in please!

  9. I drove by Scugog last week and there was plenty of ice (or at least it looked like it). However, there were several spots out in the middle of the lake where there was open water in patches. One of the reasons Scucog is so dangerous is because of the springs in the lake, there can be 6" of ice all over the area but suddenly there is a patch (could be 4' or 40') where there is only a 1/2" of ice. None of us go fishing thinking we will risk our lives but many of us do. I can't count the times I have seen guys fishing out here in a thunder storm, graphite rods, an aluminum boat, lightning..... fortunatly most of us get away with it! Saddly this fisherman didn't!
  10. When I lived in French River (some 35 or so years ago) we'd walk out on the front porch and let go with a couple of blasts with the 12 ga. at midnight. On a clear cold night you'd hear them going off for miles around. If I tried that where I live now I'd have the cops returning fire LOL. (No disrespect meant to our boys in blue, I wouldn't want to have to put up with what they do today for all the money in the world)
  11. It is really nice when you see someone that has become successful to the degree you have remember their roots! Keep up the good work!
  12. Because I have never been involved in rod building I'm not sure how this might affect things, is it a good thing or a bad thing? Would you be kind enough to enlighten me?
  13. Can you say Banjo fishing lures!!!!!!

  15. Spectacular!!!!!!!!! There are no other words that can describe it better! You are one very tallented young lady!
  16. Made Sue and I a really nice dinner, rainbow trout (her favorite) with a maple/mustard glaze, Asian style green beans and a brown/wild rice mix. A glass of very nice wine. About 7:30 I turned the clock ahead about 4 hours. We watched some tv and suddenly it was midnight; I kissed her and wished her a Happy New Year. Told her she could set the clock back now and I went to bed (might have even beat Lew LOL). (she always likes to stay up to see the ball drop then crawls into bed, give me a kiss, cuddles up and); well that's what dreams are made of! Today is when I do my celebrating; just finished making a nice Swiss cheese sauce and crape batter, shaved a nice piece of ham, cooked up some asparagas. Friends are coming over around 10:30 so I'll be making ham and asparagas crapes with Swiss cheese sauce for brunch. Wishing each and every one of you all the very best for 2015!
  17. Me, I just took a cab home!
  18. Yes, it is connected to the house wifi. She can actually see the books sitting in her account but when she tries to download it it tells her it is already being used by someone else
  19. Oh, I did manage to get the Kobo and the iPad Mini to sync without too much problem, the problem I am having now is I can't get the iPhone to sync too. I am wondering if it might be because she doesn't have a data plan on her phone. I did down load Overdrive right from their site and we have no problems borrowing books from the library and she can read them on both her Kobo and iPad Mini no problem and they sync beautifully. As for the Gmail account, I was told that I needed to have the same email account on Overdrive and each of the Apple devices for them to sync properly. The problem I am having is that when I try to set up the Email on her phone it keeps telling me I have entered the wrong password. (I KNOW it is the same one I used on the iPad Mini). Could the problem be a lack of a data plan on her phone?
  20. Sue has a Kobo, an iPad Mini and an iPhone. She likes to read books and gets them downloaded from the library HOWEVER; she wants to be able to sync them through all three divices using an app called Overdrive. SOOOOOO I set up a Gmail account and install it on all three but for some reason Gmail won't recognize the password on the Kobo. I have turned it off, powered it down, deleated the account, re established the account re entered the password and it keeps telling me the password is not valid! (works on the other two divices) I HATE TECHNOLIGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE if one of you techey guys can resolve this issue for me (and make my wife happy) I will be indebeted to you FOREVER!!!!! (oh, and I don't mean tell me how to do it, just come and do it!!!!) My next step will be to; well, we don't want to go there!
  21. All the very best to you too Lew! Thanks for starting this thread. Merry Christmas from Big Cliff and Sue to each and every one of you!
  22. This whole thing is bull spit! There is good noise and bad noise! Good noise is kids having good clean honest fun! Bad noise is kids doing drugs in some dark alley where you don't hear them until it is too late. Sucke it up buttercup and give the kids a break!
  23. The problem is; no matter what you do or say someone will take offence to it!
  24. Maybe I should take a look, my father-in-law had a bunch of un opened packs of baseball cards, I never thought of them being worth anything and they are probably still sitting in a box in our basement. I'll see if I can find them over the holidays.
  25. We have finally been successful! We have reached the height of total stupidity!!!! Let the kids be kids and have some good clean honest fun!
