Crown land between midland and ottawa?
big guy replied to livinisfishin's topic in General Discussion
It's crown land yes, but it's not an operating Prov park at the moment, it has been designated as one, set aside for future use. -
The right age? Do you even follow hockey?

Heard something years ago on the farm that sounded like this and believe it or not it turned out to be 2 porcupines up in a tree. My guess is that it's a sound they make during the mating ritual. I would never have guessed that the sound I heard would come from a porcupine, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that's what you heard.

Wow, sounds encouraging guys, thanks very much.

It looks like a very clean, well run operation guys. Curious though, which lakes did you stay at and how was the fishing? What I mean by that is, what can a person realistically expect to catch numbers wise during a week stay? Thanks in advance.

I actually know people who own the riverbed beside their home, it's right in their deed. They live near Kirkfield.

Whatever happened to reading and teaching yourself about how to do a certain thing, or talking to people who will educate you, whatever happened to learning? No, let's just buy this gadget and drive around the lake all day until we see fish on the monitor. Do we as not a society watch enough TV already? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought getting outside, getting out on the lake was to reap the benefits of being outside and seeing what's around us. Sure we'd be outside, but we'd still be watching this little TV like devise and not appreciating everything else. There are obviously some very smart people in the world, people who invent things like this, but by making them, it's making it easier for people who will buy them, making them lazy, thus not making them smarter. Maybe gadgets like that should be banned. Anyway, seeing them is one thing, catching them is another I guess eh?

I said released... I eat most of what I catch

Why is it that you can not make a statement or argue your point with directing shots? Your above statement is ridiculous and only shows the rest of us the size of your ego. From your pictures, it's obvious that your a fairly young compared to quite a few guys on this board including myself. It's doubtful that you have managed to catch and release as many fish as a lot these people, once again, including myself. So can you do me a favour, lighten up with the snide remarks and argue your points with validity. Thank you Now, having said all that, I have released maybe a thousand fish I suppose and the only trouble I've ever had with possible fish mortality was when too much time was taken getting the fish back into the water for whatever reason. The way it was held, the way it was released didn't seem to matter near as much as the time it spent out of its environment.

Ya see, I really don't understand this at all. Where exactly are the guts, or any other internal organ going to go? The last time I filleted a fish there wasn't this big open pocket of nothing in there, it's no different than our own bodies. Everything is connected and has its place, how is it possible that things can shift around? I think, somebody, somewhere really needs to do a study on this.

What are you tossing at them?

Separating, or just nitrogen bubbles popping? You know, the same sound you hear when the chiropractor cracks your back, or when you crack your knuckles.

Yes, true, but it doesn't make it right either does it? Isn't it funny/strange how these days we/most of us are so politically correct that you don't dare call a spade a spade, but if you speak the truth, if you speak logic, you're called a redneck? It's time we put an end to all the Bull.

Yep, all the ones around here that have businesses all have power. Farms the have diaries and creameries all have to regulated by the government and inspected, they all have power. But yet they will buy a farm that already has a house on it and strip the house of all electrical and plumbing. One of the funniest things I ever saw was at the place they manufactured their sheet metal, they build buildings, sheds, roofing steel there etc. Here is a great big building with power running to it and behind the house sat a radial arm saw with a little Honda gas motor attached to it. Made me scratch my head. The big thing with them is that they don't want to rely on the "outside" world for anything, but yet they still have to buy their fuel

Humour aside, that is all I'm saying. I was not taking a shot at them at all.

If they came on board your boat for a charter, would you check to see if they all had a licence?

I feel sorry for the women actually. The woman that lives across the road from where my mom used to live has 9 kids now and is barely into her 30's.

Wow, simply wow. Maybe you should do a little research on Mennonites. There are hundreds in the area north of Lindsay. They get rides into town from local people, in their cars, they go to the hospital, shop in the stores in town and use gas engines on the power tools such as radial arm saws and balers. And don't we all live in "handbuilt" homes? It sounds to me like you feel kind of sorry for them. If so, don't. It's the life they have chosen to live and that's great, all the power to them. Poor they are not however. When they started moving into my area, they bought some of the best farms in Victoria County and paid cash for every one of them. Bottom line is, you can't have one segment of "society" that is allowed to play by a different set of rules.

Promise me then you will look the other way if I go out and take home 7 pike tonight, ok?
-
Ya, why? Is it going to be my last meal?

I have those people shot

How would you know, unless....

They should change the name of this site to the Opinions Fishing Network, they wouldn't even have to change the logo.
