  1. It used to happen to me when huckin' them big baits. That's why I now troll!!!
  2. The best thing in cold temps is oversize bootfoots (you don't want them tight at all) plus a wicking sock followed by a pair of Merino Wool socks.
  3. I have one as well, they don't take great pics. If you want a camera by a camera. Cell phone cameras are good in a pinch but they don't have the best quality optics.
  4. Yep, Really Sweet Sonar!!!! You can retire when you're dead!!!!
  5. Hey they're almost the same price!!!!
  6. Copper You not getting the winters off any more?? hehehe...........Welcome to the real world!!!
  7. XM was terrible as soon as you got near the 60th parallel. It would start to cutout as you went over small hills and in Yellowknife the reception was worse. Most of my drive to and from work it was out. Sirius is way better here. It doesn't cut out at all and only cuts out in the Northern Mountain Ranges. It's fine in BC's Northern Rockies, it doesn't start to cut out until you are further north in the Yukon. In Alaska it gets very little reception due to all them mountains and Northerly Latitude. Sirius even works when I'm up at Great Bear Lake!!! I'm unsure just how far North it works well, but it is much better up here than XM. You pay a yearly subscription fee.

  9. I have had both. I started with an XM when I lived in Ontario and switched to a Sirius when I moved North. The XM satellites are lower in the sky and reception suffers in the far North. The Sirius I find has better programming than the XM. Pricing is about the same and you can listen to Sirius online when not listening to your radio, (XM was charging to listen online). I believe there are more accessories for the Sirius radios as well, you can get extra in car kits, home kits, boom boxes so you can take it any where. Oh Yeah, they don't work well at all in the mountains. All that darn granite blocks the signal!!!! I lose my signal when I head into the Yukons St. Elias Mountains on the way to Alaska and I don't get it back until I return from my trip!! One more thing, Sirius has the NASCAR Channel!!!!!
  10. Since I moved up north I haven't had any problem finding ice. It's been warm so far this winter so we've only had ice for 3 weeks now. Now it would only hurry up and get thick enough for travel. Here's a shot from last February or March
  11. That may have something to do with having freeways with no speed limit. Would you want a 17 year old doing 150 MPH on the Autobahn?
  12. Where's the pics of the fight????? p.s Nice fish.
  13. Higher priced rods use better materials in their construction. The most important materials are in the blank it's self. Higher quality graphite is stronger lighter and more sensitive. Sensitivity is probably the most important aspect of almost any fishing rod. The ability to feel the light bites alows you to put more fish in the boat or on the bank. This is especially true when jigging. Other components such as guides are also made of better materials on the more expensive sticks. An inexpensive rod will most likely have aluminum oxide guides while the more expensive rod will most likely have ceramic guides. Big deal you say they look the same...........the better guides are stronger and lighter. The big deal is the ability to reduce weight, especially on the tip section of the rod. Heavier guides will damp the vibrations transmitter through the blank more than will the lighter guides. This does two things slows the ability of the rod to recover after casting and impedes strike detection. The ability to recover after casting is extremely important in fly casting. Having the tip continue to bounce around for a second decreases control which effects casting accuracy and distance. That's my .02
  14. I have seen nitrogen used in racing applications, but think it is a waste inpassenger applications. IMHO
  15. I never had a problem when I had a Peel Region ball cap visable in my car.
