Some questions: 1/ was this the first time it was run this year (fogging oil in the cylinders)? 2/ did you mix the fuel or is it left over from the old owner? 3/ have you changed the plugs? Some things to try: 1/ There could be too much oil in your mix so mix a new batch with a good quality oil (either a premium or synthetic oil) your engine will thank you and it will run smooter with less smoke). If using synthetic follow the mixing instructions on the bottle as you need less oil than with regular dino oil. 2/ pull plugs and replace them (clean the old ones with a wire brush and keep them as spares) Some things you need to know: 1/ Starting the motor while the lower unit is out of the water will damage the water pump impeller (a few seconds won't) 2/ Starting the motor while it is tilted can flood the engine (thus the reason it wouldn't start)

I have one and have no complaints. I don't use it for my boat though as I have an onboard charger for that.

I also have a butt seat with taller pedestal and a regular seat with shorter pedestal that I can use in the front of my boat. I use the regular boat seat exclusively. In the 21 years I have owned the boat I only used the butt seat once. Standing/leaning all day is way too hard on my back and knees. If'n I was fishing tourneys it would be a differnt story.

Years ago I saw a boat go up in flames at the gas dock in Honey Harbour. They didn't turn off all power before fueling up and the fumes ignighted.

That jerk came into our campsite last year and ruined our party!!!! What a goof!!!!

The biggest thing hunting does is teach the bears to be wary of humans. Since they have not been pursued with the same intensity since the spring bear hunt ended they have grown bolder and lost their fear of humans. This coupled with the increase in population is causing the issue. The spring bear hunt was not cancelled because the bear population was crashing (it was stable) it was cancelled by antis blackmailing Southern & Southwestern Ontario politicians during an election year. These antis told the politicians in power that their votes would go to the opposition unless the hunt was cancelled. I'm not a bear hunter but I won't hesitate to shoot one that is acting agressively. My firearm comes camping with me just in case.

I alos do a lot of camping in bear country and while I'm not scared of them I have a healthy respect for them. Twice I have had large grizzlies sniffing at my tent in the middle of the night. I don't care who you are but that will unnerve anyone. Last year my friend was tenting in the site beside me and he had one pushing in on the side of his tent in the middle of the night. He hauled off and punched it in the nose as hard as he could!! It went away an beat up on my other friends trailers because it was all ticked off. LOL

Yes, what Stoty said. 10% of the trips cost is a good place to begin. If the guides are exceptional and go above and beyond don't be afraid to tip higher. The same goes if they don't work hard for you, don't be afraid to tip less.

Make sure you get a floating tow rope and then there will be no need to worry about the prop.

Yeah, quality costs money. My pontoon is about $1000 new and the inflatable is $1500 new.

Or you could stumble on a high quality inflatable for stupid low $$$ like I did. My inflatable in the first pic is an older Southern Pacific inflatable (same kind of quality as a Zodiac). To purchase a new one (same model as mine but with aluminum floor instead of wood) is about $1500 US. I found mine at a garage sale for.......................wait for it.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................TEN BUCKS!!!!!! I has a small leak in the floor but the air chambers are solid and there are zero patches on it!!! The motor was extra of course and I had to purchae oars for it. Including the motor I have less than $900 in the rig. There are deals to be had if you are in the right place at the right time.

Had my Legend for 21 years now and love it. I also opted to upgrade the motor and have not been disappointed. In fact I know that I will own it until I croak!!

Photobucket automatically resizes to 800 pixels on the longest side. I resize before uploading so PB resizing doesn't happen. Took these shots at The Northern Skies Airshow yesterday.

I can guarantee I won't see it. It won't get dark here for another 4 or 5 weeks.

1/ Yes, if you go ripping past canoers and smaller boats without concern for their safety. 2/ Nah, if you like fishing for panfish that's fine. I have no problem with that. 3/ No problem here either as long as long as it's done safely (see response 1) 4/ If you say so.

I love it when bass boats are ripping by at 70 but not as much as I love the sound of their lower unit contacting granite at 70!!!!!

The onboard charger I posted above that is sold at Canadian Tire is made by Schumacher and sold with the Nautilus brand name on it. This Schumacher charger is also This Canadian Tire charger. And yes it does charge seep cycle, AGM and regular lead acid batteries.

I run one of These on my boat for my 2 deep cycles for the TM and also my starting battery. I leave it plugged in year round when I'm not out in the boat. People say you don't need one for the starting battery but this way it stays topped up and when fully charged is ignored by the charger. I leave my batteries in the boat all winter and with them being plugged into the charger they never discharge and freeze. It gets pretty cool up here too.

Amp/hours has nothing to do with the output of batter power other than the lenght of time it can output that power. I don't know if that makes sense to you or not. The battery is 12 volts correct? The trolling motor is 12 volts as well? Amperage is the amount of current drawn fron the battery by the trolling motor and is determined by the load on the trolling motor (speed and whether you're running it through weeds). The higher the amp/hour rating the longer the battery will last before needing to be recharged. It sounds to me like it was just coincidence. Get yourself a shiny new TM and have at 'er!!!
