  1. Just waiting for the big one!!! And, there it is. Well mediocre one.
  2. My Honda Pilot didn't come equipped from the factory with the tow package, but I installed it myself. It consisted of trans cooler, power steering cooler, hitch and wiring. Not a ton of stuff. You do have to make sure you change your tranny fluid more frequently though. Failure to do so will result in shortened tranny life. Not a good thing when getting them rebuilt these days is generally a $3500-$4500 chunk of dough!! I had the dealer do my fluid when I was on vacation last month. Cost was about $225. Cheap peace of mind when you think about what a rebuild costs. If you purchased your vehicle new no worries for a while but if you got it used I would get the fluid changed before towing if it has 50K or more on it.
  3. I'd vote for the big hootered porn star over the crack smoking red neck myself. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/05/02/nikki-benz-toronto-mayor-ford_n_5253169.html
  4. Been using a group 24 starting battery for the past 23 years on my boat. 90 hp 2 stroke until last spring and now a 115hp 4 stroke.
  5. You can tow an 18' aluminum no problem. I tow mine with a 6cyl Honda and you barely know it's there. Might even fit in a garage with one of these installed on the trailer tongue: http://www.fultonperformance.com/content/products.aspx?lvl=2&parentid=7000&catid=7060&part=0
  6. HAHAHA!! Flies!!!! You can't catch lakers on flies!!!!!
  7. If it will run on as little as 3 volts just run your power and ground to one of the batteries (any in the system will work). This will give you 6 volts.
  8. Nope, not at all. I have several shipping containers worth we can deliver. Just say the word!!!! OH, forgot...... most are Grizzlies!! Does that matter?
  9. Speaking from experience, go with erratic plugs early (ie flatfish, quickfish) trolled slow and metal once the water warms up into the high 40's low 50's. You can catch trout with spoons in colder water but the wobble baits entice more and bigger fish in cold water.
  10. I have nothing bad to say about Legend Boats. Just buy the biggest motor possible for your package. I've had mine for 23 years and it will yank the arms clear off a skier and fishes like mad!!!
  11. ^^^ What he said!!! I refuse to even turn that twit's show on. I'd rather smash my junk with a hammer!!!!!
  12. I'd like to see the OU. Got a love of OU's and double barrel scatter guns.
  13. Paddling against tides sucks too.
  14. Drive around with it on the roof of his car!!!!!
  15. No controversy Capt. I saw the effects first hand with my buddies 2 boats down in Florida this spring. I ended up wrenching on both to get them running properly. Water in fuel and deteriorated fuel lines due to ethanol fuel were the culprits in both instances. I am very lucky living in the far North as there is no ethanol in any of the fuel sold North of 60*
  16. Yep it's a fairly easy job if you have any mechanical skills at all. I did mine a few years ago. Went from this: To this: Last spring it changed again with my new Smartcraft gauges. Guess I need to take pics of them still.
  17. In that case look at this one: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=20973116&cp=4406646.4413993.4417832.4417969 It's actually built from the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 (2009 model year) form. And is 1/2 the price of the current Tarpon 120. I picked one up last month while on vacation and it's a really nice yak. Here it's is on it's maiden voyage in Tampa Bay. It didn't take me long to customize it with rod holders, fish finder, milk crate and action cam.
  18. I did the bulk of my latest set of upgrades last spring. New 4 stroke OB, Smartcraft gauges, second fuel tank with transfer valve, water separating fuel filter, after market Bimini top, relocated the two TM batteries forward and added a pair of Smart Tabs. This year I'm adding a cast 4" jack plate for my kicker so it lines up better with my new outboard/Atlas jack plate combo I'm also running new charger cables from my front mounted deep cycle batteries to the 3 bank charger in the rear. Almost forgot my biggest project this year, build a dock @ my cabin property so I have a place to park my boat when I'm there. Currently it looks like this (well when the snow goes it does)
  19. Forgot about those. Check this one @ Dick's. If you buy the mid section as well you could use it in solo mode on smaller waters and bigger waters with the centre section installed. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=21094086
  20. Best way to empty a built in tank is to remove the fuel level sender and pump it out. I know in my boat there is a hatch that enables access to the sender.
  21. He's not knitting him a sweater, he's making a nice pair of slacks!!!!
