IMHO no I think he meant what he said... LipDip is a great fisherman, guide, educator of fishing and writer so for him, his statement is true but I think that learning how to read a good sonar can sure cut down on the learning curve but learning to read the lake will make you a better fisherman but I have to say that my new $509.00 X15 showed me things and help me find fish that took me hours to find in the past I fish an area where fish can be in 9 ft of water but they are always on the move and trolling seems to be the only way to find them then you can sit and jig or crank for them...with the X15 I can see fish on the bottom in 9ft of water while trolling ( the first fishfinder I ever had that show so much detail) so even if then are not bitting I can see they are there and stop and fish them slow with plastic or live bait...without the X15 quality I keep trolling till they get active or just guess where they are today....

I would think he said 14 because he felt at that age they could be off fishing on their own and at that age they should be adult enough to take a test, I would think seniors would need to take the test too..just because they don't need a licence to fish, doesn't mean they don't need to know the rules to fish...they must obey the rules just like a licenced person, so why not make them take a test.... not that I agree with testing in general

if it's legal..then it's right for them the law and personal morals have nothing to do with one another and I don't think they should be discussed in the same threads....as the law is the law and morals are what you believe in, what you find OK, not what is the law so hate the law not the guy fish/hunting/getting food within the law so change the law.....IMO

I don't think having to pass a test would help one little bit poachers will poach fish and deer either way... if you buy a fishing license you are required to follow the regs and ignorance of the law is no excuse, so a test wouldn't really help and a test would be a money grab, nothing more...see boat operator exams to know what I mean...money grab

I don't think anyone said it's ok I think everyone said or meant, not every thing is black and white...and one can make their own minds up on what to report and what not to..... like if you saw you son take something from you home that didn't belong to him would you call the cops...no if your wife was going over the speed limit would you report her...hey I said wife not exwife....... even the cops decide whether or not to press charges.............. that doesn't make it ok...but

well for me it takes more then a year to clean 50 perch...cause it take more then a year for me to bring that many home...lol

well if it sticks back more then 3ft pass the lights(including motor), you are breaking the law but it is more a balance problem then anything else, if the trailer is made to carry the weight too much weight behind the back wheels can cause a lot of swaying at hi-way speeds plus the weight of most the boat and motor is sitting at the very back of the trailer instead of being over the whole length of the trailer

I guess you have not seen the 100s of boats out fishing whitefish and and perch late fall there were large groups of boats and the first week of Jan I couldn't believe how many boats were out fishing, I was one of them........
