muskie are native to Balsam pike are not because of the types of lake most of the kawarthas are the muskie can not compete with the pike for spawning grounds and the muskie die off it has happened to all the lakes coming from lake simcoe, like canal lake and are now making their way to balsam, because of a man made canal system and the pike upset the balance so again I say I will kill and eat any pike that show up in Balsam lake and would hope everyone else does the same

does "off shore" mean from on the shore or does it mean from a boat off shore fishing just so I know to me it means from a boat but the places you wrote makes me think you mean from shore

very nice I have been thinking about hunting with a crossbow myself.... a way to still hunt without registering rifles and all the other crap that goes with buying a gun

in canada it's the illegal guns that are a crime problem the government thought that the criminals would register all their illegal weapons and 2 billion bucks was a small price to pay for it too bad it hasn't prevented even one crime but that's another topic

depending on what you are fishing for they could be hot spots and no you do not want to launch in Barrie and ride down to cooks bay, I don't know if anyone in Barrie rents, if they do there is some good fishing just out from barrie and the shoreline but if you want cooks bay and roaches point which is the north east point of cooks bay you should go to gilford or keswick to rent launch from harrys at the rive on the main street of keswick( 404 north to ravenshoe west to leslie north on leslie to riveredge park) rents as does Peter in gilford, (400 north to 89 east,to the lake and then the last right then a left, I think)

and when you bid on a boat you see sitting on a trailer, most times you are bidding on only the boat the trailer doesn't go with it or it's will be auctioned separately
