Wow those are very impressive fish congrats to you guys. I'd love to tangle with a couple of those. -
Damn straight if you have the time and inclination I would push back in court. Also stick to your guns don't let them push you around. City of Toronto tried that on me last year in the OMB. I stuck to my guns and won... Outrageous pushing that crap back on the Tax Payer. This is the problem with downloading costs. It travels downhill........and you know who's at the bottom. Keep us posted.

Thanks Guys for all the input. The Honda is a great option as well. Decisions decisions.... Seems like the Honda exhausts to air and the Yami underwater. May impact noise levels. I'll do some more investigating...

Looking for a small portable motor for some back country stuff and portage lakes. Would like to be able to strap it to the canooe when necessary. The Yamaha 2.5 caught my eye at the boat show. Just wondering if anyone had one and wanted to provide feedback good or bad. Also if they had a line on a reliable dealer in the GTA that I could speak with. It's MSRP is $1,049.00 and specs below. Thanks in advance.. Cool Mepps. Here is a vid that shows what happens inside the ship. You can see the ship flexing from bow to stern from the inside.

Lew I hear you but let's look at a couple of points. I got to see a bunch of stuff that I wanted to see all under one roof. With staff etc on hand to answer questions. I picked up a bunch of stuff that I had to get (well sort of ). A new anchor, headlamp etc. I definitely spent more on stuff than admission. If i had to go to all those place seperately it would have cost me $15 in gas alone not to mention the time. My parking at Ontario Place was 5$. The real theives are the concession stands. $3.25 for a bottle of water. Just my 2cents.

Wow that's new. Thanks for the heads up. Probably some issues related with it being near the dam or people causing a disturbance etc. Mot sure really.. I would check in with the MNR office in town or Minden Bait and Tackle.

You may be interested in the Community GIS Map Service online for Haliburton County. http://www.haliburtoncounty.ca/MapsGIS.htm Also I think if you are launching a tin boat you can get one in just north of the Bridge at the top of the White Water Preserve. Then you can boat up Horseshoe and under the bridge into Mountain. There is some current there so be careful.

Yep I was there too. Bought a new anchor, new lines for the boat and a Tikka Headlamp. The Headlamp is awesome. Very bright. Also checked out the new swift kevlar canoe. 15'9" at 30 pounds. Unbelievable. I want one bad.

I agree douG. I am approximately 30 mins from my job by TTC. Lot's of guys I know moved to Barrie but work in the Downtown. They used the argument that they could get a bigger house for much less. With the price of fuel and cars not to mention their safety and sanity they were crying when the first snow fell. Do the math on the cost of your vehicles, insurance and and fuel. My commute costs $21.00 a week. We only have one car in the burbs you may need two. You could easily cover some serious mortgage upside if you converted those costs to a bigger home or renovation. BTW once you leave the core you move out it is a tricky proposition to move back in. Just my 2c

Nicer than my house....LOL

I use most of the items in Joey's recipe. One thing I do is sub in lite soy instead of regular soy (cuts the sodium and I can't taste the difference). Also I add some red wine vinegar to taste. I addition I would add lots of fresh cracked pepper and some tabasco sauce or chili powder. The crack pepper sticks to final product for some extra zing. Also I balance the sour with the sweet of Maple syrup, Orange juice, brown sugar or Pinaeapple juice (I thinki got that from someone here) Lately thought I have also splashed in 2 -3 ounces of Scotch at the end. It gives it a unique taste. I tried Rum in another batch but wasn't as immpressed. Once mixed I put the sliced meat in a big freezer bag and fill with marinade. Seal it and remove all the air. Roll it around some and put in the fridge for 24 -48 hours. When it's done pour out the marinade and then give the bag a good squeeze to get the residual marinade out. The meat is then put it in the dehydrator. 6 hours and she's done. Mmmmmm
