Bill,...you know as well as I do that stretch of river could be one of many that all look the same,...besides you also know,... the fish move,...besides you also know....if someone recognizes a spot, they have fished there before. C'MON now,...there are litterally 1000' of pools holding fish right now around northern and southern Lake O and E tribs,....Anyone who knows what they are doing,... does it by this time of year!!! I myself can say with 100% confidence that I have never ever made a decision on where to fish from this or any other website,....I take all the factors and recent weather conditions into account, the decide where I am going, I think most guys do it the same as me including yourself,...if anyone decides where to fish because you saw a post you think you recognize from the day before....I call that CHOOCH!!! not too mention dumb and lazy lol Yo bud,...Im not saying you do this... Maybe there is more sensitivity to the beggining of the season when every one is Jonesing,...lol...and trust I hear ya,...but I got my first river chromer this fall over a month ago during one of the first salmon runs,..total fluke (100 kms up river and a silver little buck) but it took a little edge off. But now its game on everywhere!!! Some backgrounds add to the pics.....its a personal choice,...if im in a nice valley with leaves and crap,...I will get a pic with a background,..then get one straight on the water,...no biggie either way. How about this background? cheers,

Just curious why you are ranting here?

Cheers to all the Responsible Hunters,...you guys do the ecological work and help manage the wildlife!!! I dont hunt myself, but I have a great respect for our licensed hunters, (I grew up with hunters and Ive eaten it all and its all Deliscious....Wild Boar Ribs have got to be one of the best...isnt there some good hunting for them in the southern U.S right now? I remember making a dish once called Frickodella (Danish) and it was a moose fillet and a bear fillet,..with a bunch of sauce and cheese in between.....that was Amazing!!! Jack rasbbitt is also quite tasty.) Years ago... I hit a big buck deer driving 100km/hr in a 1990 Subaru around 10 pm in November. NOW that was a TRIP...like a camera flash with a 300 lb buck 10 ft. in front of me, then the lights go out, hence the camera flash,...then im going 30km/hr and heading to the side of the road,....seatbelt on,...front end of the car crumpled, and draining fluid large,...the cars done!!!.....but wheres the deer?,...some fur in the crumpled hood, ...no deer around,,...I hit this Badboy DEAD on!!!!.....start walking back to the last carpool...within 30 seconds a towtruck pulls over.... he yells "you ok ??" I say "Yeah man" as Im walking back,...he say's 'Do you want the Deer"? lol. So anyways,...the towtruck guy and I look for the deer and found it,...300lbs easy Big 12 pt buck....drag it back to his truck....and I ask him,..."where are you taking it? " He tells Me the butcher "M***** N******" lol,...who was a buddy I knew in gradeschool and had'nt seen in years,....so he takes off with the deer,...it just dawns on me that although we called the cops,..the evidence was gone,...lol. The Cops show up its obvious I hit something, but 'where's the deer'...lol....so I showed the meat in the hood to prove it,...LMAO,...it all turned out fine and had those steaks for a dinner a week later and reunited with some old friends,.... Turns out the guy on one side of the hwy I was travelling was putting out deer scents and food for weeks right by the highway along the edge of his property to lure the deer in to kill them on his land. I was the 7th car to hit a deer along that 1km stretch of highway in a week. This spot is only 20 minutes north of Steeles. I nearly missed one the night before, same spot of Hwy. Please be careful people!!! Deer are everywhere and so are hikers, fisherman and birdwatchers, cheers,

Coyotes attack and kill teenage girl out east
StoneFly replied to bigfish1965's topic in General Discussion
I grew up just a little north of the GTA and have encountered many Coyotes in packs from a bit of a distance and a few real close,..I have seen them on their own be very aggressive and acting very weird, not afraid at all and just looking mean. Grew up in the summers listening to the yelps and howls in the summer. Thought is they can be rabid, I have seen a few too close for comfort that looked blood thirsty and frothing. I feel bad for her, but another sad story is what will happen with those crazy Newfies as she was a semi-celebrity. I cant even imagine the slaughter that will happen. I wonder if the same response would happen from just an regular person getting killed. Only a few years ago, just north of thew GTA, a women walking in her back 40 wearing a red sweater was shot dead by a hunter, what was his fate? When someone gets attacked by a bear out west, do they kill all the bears? -
Looks like rain again this Friday coming,...probably better to head out friday am if possible,...Im lookin forward to it,..I dont know why it is but the fish seem turn on during a light rain,

One thing I know for sure is that you will never stop learning. I like to try alot of different things everythime i go out including different roe, sizes, colour and even cures. Switching it us is key when you know there are fish but you arent getting hits. Reading the water and knowing where to go and when is probably the most important. Once you get your first fish you will learn something new everytime, I personal take mental notes of all the different things I try and what works and what the conditions were etc. I think confidence in setting your hook and not being afraid of a snag will give you an edge. Also,...sometimes the Fish just dont bite...lol. Remember if you can see them, chances are they can see you.
-
Nice Work bud, thats exactly what what I am bringing with me Friday in addition to the Float rod. Im bettin you were at the same place as I was last sunday. Those fish were silly spooked.
-
I didnt go to the concert, but a coworker of mine's sister works for them and took us backstage today in the dressing room, their hang out room, music tuning room and up on the stage. No band there, but it was still pretty cool.
-
Great Report,....thats it, Im gettin my passport,...lol...as much fun as we have up here it can be hit and miss,...had the weirdest expeience this past weekend with spooked fish, but then again if we could see them they could see us. Wish I had a better camera of the 4 x 6-12lb browns I saw hiding under a log jam and the 40 or so 12-14" that were in there with them, not too mention in another spot the 20 chromers just watching us and as uninterested as spooked nookies.... The best part of your story was about the Swimming pool,...no matter what the most addicted of us do for these fish its nothing compared to what we will do for the woman we love. Its game on from here on Rain Gods,..one more
-
Well said!!!
-
Good Job,...we went out Sunday, found a pod of chrome and browns but these fish were so dam spooked they wouldnt take anything,..and we tried everything!! I kept thinking to myself i wish i had my spinner to blaze a few little meps by them, just to see what would happen. Next time

But some Clear Up REAL fast,...Im sure quite a few guys on here know what Im sayin. Its all about the beds, sand, silt, clay and gravel all settle at different rates. I have seen some rivers clear up in a matter of hours actually while I was fishing them. If anyone mentions any trib names here,..you are a true IDIOT!!!
