  1. And that does make sense, did the CO happen to mention if you can get charged by Killing and OOS or C&R only fish even though it was by accident?
  2. Based on your description, Im pretty sure I know the spot, even big hole you are talking about, I have seen several guys get steelies out of it using spinners before the C&R came into effect, and I even tried it the last time I went out, never thought about the fact that its catch and release only and the damage those trebles can do, usually not something I think about as the #14's I use have never casued a fish to bleed. Food for thought, for me. thanks for posting this. I wonder what the law dictates in this case,...what if the fish went belly up? Your only choice would be to not let it go to waste and keep it,..or just let it die. It is curious why they didnt mandate barbless single hooks when implementing C&R on that stretch. BTW,..I think I would have been inclined to snip the hooks as already pointed out. Although, thinking of the time it would take to get that done,...Im thinkin the fish is a goner anyhow. Im thinkin barbless trebles or barbless single, as long as you keep the pressure, you should have no worries and heck if you lose it,..its catch and release anyways, lol
  3. Whats Wrong with Elastics? lol. I rearely use the hook keeper, My reel is pretty close to it, just the position i prefer and I find I end up touching the hook too much while walking, especially not good if you have a roe bag on it. I just use the stem of the first guide as a hook keeper, it does need cleaning more often this way however.
  4. Nice work under the tough conditions,....i didnt even bother this weekend,..maybe I shaould have...lol
  5. Singles and doubles are key under these conditions,....little flies in the 14-16 range can also produce. Apparently little dew worms work well also, but I havent had a whole lot of luck with them.
  6. Good Job Bud, hope your not snagging them... ,..lol, just kidding. How did you take the pics if you were alone? Tripod?
  7. W2G Laz,...First of Many Im sure. Looking forward to the pics. congrats!!!
  8. Nice Work,...like Bill Said, a 5 minute fight can really feel like much longer,..even 5 is long. Just rmeember the shorter the better (for the fish that is)
  9. Thats AWESOME,..but where are the huts? lol Nice Video!!!
  10. Bill I was Agreeing with you....I said 'Bahahahahaha' because i have directed this guy there several times. due to its public nature, it would be the only location I would name. your right, there are always fish and always fisherpeeps.
  11. Erindale Park!!!! bahahahahahaha,...not my cup of tea, but there are definately fish, if what you are looking for is the city crowd no challenge type of fishing,...GIVER, there are people fishing there ALWAYS unless it is completely blown.
  12. these are all good advices for sure coming from people likely more experienced than I am. That being said,..you dont always have to wait for a rain if you know where to go. What I would do on one river is extremely different from what I would do on another, not too mention different holes on a given river,...given the same rain patterns....take an inch of rain and some rivers arent fishable for days, some are immediately. Some are always so dirty you can stand with a clown suit on and not spook the fish, others you have to hide bigtime,...then theres the rigging and bait differences,...blah blah blah,...you will learn dude,..you mentioned DMASSE, he knows his stuff, I have learned ALOT from him and I dare say he has learned a little from me,...but I kicked his butt a couple times under tough conditions...that being said,..he beats me 10x more,..not that its a competition...lol...
  13. Who lifted the Rock? lol are the roads done with construction?,..I sure DAMN hope so...lol
  14. Weird, that spot is usually hopin by now, did you go where you told me (dont post it here). If So, did you walk the stretch or just fish by where you parked?
  15. Great Pics, Nice work!!!
  16. Nice Troooots,..thanks for posting.
  17. Snagging doesnt count,...dude if you can catch a brown Legit,..you should catch rainbows/steelhead in your sleep. Knitting is not a bad passtime either Lol
  18. C'mon,..belly hooking and flossing are 2 totally different professions,..lol. Besides I was kidding
  19. Sickolla!!!!
  20. Good thought guys!!! No matter what I have commented on the war efforts over the last 35 years, our heroes from WWI and WWII are what gave us the freedom we all enjoy today and THAT should never be forgotten!!
  21. Im Starting to think this FishingGuypat is not even for real, but playin a big joke....its kinda funny if he is for real,...but kindof annoying if he isnt. Dude, just get out there and do it,...I have a buddy who comes out all the time, has been steelheading for a couple years now,..almost never catches a fish while we are smashing them and he is doing almost the exact same thing and we help him like crazy,..but he still comes out as he knows its going to change some day.
  22. Its all closed, there are no fish East of TO, dont waste your time, lol.
  23. dont you have to catch fish to post reports? lol, I say the more reports the better, just dont giveaway your location with the words or the pictures.
  24. lol,. dont worry about it, we are talking about the same place. I avoid those crowds at all cost, lol.
  25. Just position the shots so you can move your float as low as 5' from your hook,...then you can move it as high as you want. moving the shot around by sliding it helps for some drifts, but no you shouldnt have to re-rig.
