  1. Nice looking whities. You're making me drool.
  2. I think I'll stick to my old tin pot, grounds and all, first thing in the morning. The splash of brandy is the bonus.
  3. I taught my kids to never start a scrap, but to make sure you hurt them before they hurt you. The daughter has a disability, and used to get picked on at school. After decking two boys she never had a problem again. The school threatened to suspend or expel Anna. I asked the principal what punishment the boys would be receiving. He said there would be no reprisal for the boys so I called the lawyers. problem solved.
  4. Girls never got in the way of fishing! Might be still half drunk and not know the person in the bed beside me , but at 5 am I was still going fishing Part of that primitive Canadian instinct. Had booze, had woman, had to kill something for breakfast
  5. There are days I've been told I should go live in a stable.
  6. The only problem with running a sled all out is there is no room for error or reaction time. Friend of mine got killed last March on Couch on his sled. Was running full out and hit an object jutting out from the ice. I used to trail ride a lot on the HCSA trails and we never ran more than 60kph on the ice even though our machines could do 120 ( yeah, yeah, I'm dating myself )
  7. It all evens out. Think of how many trips to the chiro you won't make because you are lugging a 5# instead of a 20# tank.
  8. Such a breathtaking view from up in a bushplane. Haven't been in a single in over 20 years and all I could do was oooh and aaah. I do envy you Wayne.
  9. There used to always be icefishing and skating on Grenadier's, and you could also skate on the duck ponds. Of course, that was back in the 70's, before every mother's son was looking for the flimsiest excuse to start a lawsuit.
  10. Same happens here. Made 2 loaves yesterday and gone in 24 hours. The folded loaf and the crock loaf both look great, ,
  11. A day of laughs, and fish! It does not get much better. Glad you had a good day.
  12. Luremaking.com used to be there but not last year. There were no parts vendors at the fishing show.
  13. Always thought it was a Pommey phrase. Know a few Brits who say "good on ya, mate".
  14. Too busy playing with my ice gear.
  15. Unfortunately, not all CTC stores, or tackle shops can issue licences. Only so many retailers within a specified area get a franchise. So a readily available list on the website would be great and make sense. We all know that the words 'government' and 'sense' are contradictions
  16. You haven't had winter til your shovelling a foot of the white stuff. And I ain't talking cotton Just build yourself a wee bonfire in the livingroom and all will be fine.
  17. I needed that
  18. Just another extension of Darwin's law. Weak seed has to be removed from the gene pool somehow.
  19. The motel rents out huts and used to run folks out to them on sleds a bit of a distance out. Believe it or not, there is only 2-3 foot depth of water from the landing to the channel.
  20. Was out again Thursday, tougher bite, but good time with good friends. Got the son's better half out and she was first to catch a fish on her first successful ice outing. She certainly outdid RobD Mind you, it took us 5 minutes to get Amie to hold the fish in her hand
  21. New cabinet for my tackle making suplies and inventory. Old cabinet was collapsing from the weight of lead. Hundreds of harnesses to make and the never ending project
  22. That's because I've been too busy crying in my beer. Loved the Sault area when I was younger. Haven't been back in 25 years.
  23. Well done there. Even after a couple of decent days on the pond you still make me drool.
  24. Sure is neat to have the camera. I would be totally hypnotized watching that on the ice.
  25. Good start for 2010 is to get out on local ice and not find a white stripe. Got out this afternoon on a fave pond with some good friends with mixed results. As is so typical when icefishing, 2 holes produced all the action. Son and I were the lucky ones this time. A very light bite on pinners and small salties but still managed enough for dinner. We still found a lot of spots with very skinny ice. We backed off real quick. Be safe and have the necessary safety gear at the ready.
