  1. It is one of the reasons the lower Don has remained a dead zone. City of Toronto has dumped it's snow in the valley, by the viaduct, for decades.
  2. Great place to go to. In summer, near impossible to get a 2 day booking. Lots of good fishing off the dock.
  3. Here I was expecting a harrier with pontoons.
  4. Finally got the worst of the moving done. We still have too much stuff! I haven't even tackled my pile. It was buried beneath the wife's mountain Now I have to find space for a place to lay me head.
  5. Finally have everything packed and hopefully we have cast off enough of the 20 years of clutter we have amassed. Will watch the game on the 12" tonight. Will catch up with folks in about a weeks time.
  6. The problem with part of the IOC is the 3rd world reps who view women as property. Don't look good for women to outdo men, or to compete in events similar to men's. Kinda like a black runner embarassing, and humiliating, the Nazi propaganda machine at the '36 Olympics right in front of Adolph's face.
  7. With a "hut" like that, I wouldn't go home til ice out
  8. what a great game. One more period and we hit the final. Slovaks aren't beat yet. Still a tight game.
  9. Now you see where the idea of the werewolf comes from. A dog the size of a man and does not have the same fear of man that most wildlife have.
  10. You know what they say about life in the great white north: In Canada, the women... they be men too!
  11. Thanks for the plug Cliff. I tie bucktail harnesses, jigs and streamers. Have a lot of fun with them, both in the making and the fishing with them. Sorry they aren't laid out nicer, but I'm in the middle of packing to move next week.
  12. Thanlk God for our talented Canadian women, eh
  13. jwl has taken 'chirpy' fishin to an art form. The squirrels and chipmunks just will not let go of the peanut on the string. The kids fish them on rod and reel. Strictly C&R
  14. Now that's hockey!
  15. Nice whities. A solid meal in those 2
  16. WWOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW
  17. Translate: "the devil you say" Now if I was cussing at TJ, I would call him a Satana Perkele
  18. My uncle's response........... piru sinotte.
  19. I could order a bunch for folks next time i put in my order for parts. What size exactly? Smallest I found is a size 14 Eagle Claw
  20. As an afterthought, My day out with Emil and Jordan reminded me of a few things. Of years past when other adults took the time and patience to see that I had great adventures. My hooks were baited, fish taken off, and cleaned, in an endless procession without a grumble. I didn't have a dad but Gram, Grampa and my uncles more than made up for that. Taksu maku. Even though I enjoy fishing, I enjoy the company of others to share the experience. More importantly, watching kids having the time of their lives fishing is way more fun than catching a mountain of fish. To Jordan. Thank you for putting a smile on a tired old face , and some much needed happiness in my heart.
  21. The big thing is keying the right colours to the colour of the water and the forage.
  22. I had long promised a smelting adventure for icefisherman and his son Jordan. Today was the day. Beautiful weather and temps made for a perfect day. Co-operation from the fish also helped. The show stealer was Jordan. What a joy to have with me on the ice. Emil was also having a great time, but he was playing second string to the wee lad. Here is Jordan working on his stringer. Enjoying a break from the action. Jordan's bounty. Notice the look of concentration I am so glad the day worked out. The sausage was great. Well done Emil. Your little boychuk is welcome around my corner any time. Watching his excitement was more fun than catching fish.
  23. crackers, cornflakes, rice crispies, instant potato flakes. They all work in a pinch. When we bush camped I only brought pancake mix. Breakfast or batter is fine by me.
  24. With the right additives thrown in... No different than a McDusty burger
  25. I avoid using the debit card. A few years back, Beamsville area residents were bilked out of hundreds of thousands by a fraud artist at the local Pioneer station. He had connected a portable tracer to the card reader to record everybody's card data and rigged a hidden overhead camera to pick up peoples pin numbers. After a week he disappeared and never caught. I try to stick to cash.
