  1. I thought this was a Bob and Doug moment. Even got out the back bacon and beers
  2. I certainly am not, but I think this guy can help you out. http://www.maniacworld.com/Cornholio-Soundboard.html
  3. Stopped carrying mobile devices after drowning 2. I have enough problems keeping myself dry
  4. As with any contentious issue concerning our fisheries, in put is needed. If you reside in the Kawarthas, have a cottage there, visit regularly, you need to let these local politicians know how you feel. Council does not mire itself in facts. They listen to voices and the recommendations of staff. If Ms. Irving is doing most of the shouting at council, she will be the one they listen to as she is a resident, taxpayer, member of the business community. You need to let the area councils know that her interest in keeping U.S. customers happy, is not in the best interests of the local taxpaying users of the fishery. Taxpayers equal votes.
  5. I may be a bit square but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlkRI-YmT_E&feature=related
  6. Patent process takes time and a lot of $$$$$$$
  7. Can also be the slowest power.
  8. Happy birthday Beans, hope you're spending the day fishing.
  9. Running off to the media before any real investigations have begun would seem counterproductive, for the timing. If things stall sure, but the moment the cameras start rolling folks focus on striking poses and CYA rather than investigating. At this time I can say that the NPCA will now be initiating an investigation. We have managed to direct a number of public complaints in their direction from concerned outdoors enthusiasts . The MNR and the DFO are already investigating. The violations are just too visibly blatant to ignore. Letters and e-mails from good fisher folk certainly help. Thanks for caring gang.
  10. Just a wee bump. If you could please take the time to contact your MPP or the MPP's for the area to express your concern it would further the cause and put some pressure to bear. [email protected] [email protected] Possibly voice your concern to the MNR or OFAH. It takes action on our parts to ensure this does not get put in the closet.
  11. Anywhere from Cayuga on down is loaded with cats. Heck you just have to go to the small park below the Hwy3 bridge in Cayuga and fire out a bottom rig with 1oz or more of weight. A 1/0 or 2/0 bait hooked dressed with sucker meat, shad, smelt,. Fire that into one of the pockets between the pilings. Have to admit there is a big concentration of cats in the stretch tween Fishmasters and the Dunnville dam.
  12. IF there was a ballot, my wife would fill it. After the 2 spring show I figure she must have entered some 50 odd "free" draws with "great" prizes.
  13. Structure is good, but I can see the wind farms being demarcated as restricted areas for reasons of security, safety, and liability.
  14. The money to operate has to come from somewhere. The original idea behind most sites was that ad dollars would more than cover operating costs. If you remove the advertising the money must come from elsewhere whether that be sponsors, membership fees, merchandising. Now pop-ups every 30 seconds would be annoying. I'd say leave the ads to produce a revenue stream.
  15. We need a very wet spring across the province.
  16. Shoe repairs
  17. I just find pike under 20" not to be worth the effort to fillet. In Canal and Dalrymple I have no problem filling the boat with pike over that size. What I find wrong about this effort to eradicate pike is that a number of anglers catch pike, kill them, and toss them back as turtle food. I have seen far too many pike with the base of the gills cut just floating in the 2 lakes. Such a waste.
  18. What's this thing about setting my status?
  19. There is very little in the way of quality programming, and nothing original. Survivor. Nothing more than "As The Stomach Turns" cast on a desert island. No wonder my wife keeps collecting VHS and DVD boxed sets from the show of the 60's and 70's (and a lot of that was pretty bad)
  20. No not original, but had been allowed to revert to a more natural state over the past 15 or so years. This is part of what was envisaged for the wetland and the pond when the NPCA turned the lands over to Lincoln. It does not appear as though the current council really wants to follow through.
  21. Property is bordering the 2 municipalities. The house is St Caths, the pond is Lincoln, and Lincoln and its council are as clueless as it gets. They regularly cut down growth along the water's edge and drain down the pond to better facilitate the Canada Day fireworks. They also permit beach bonfires that are destroying the root systems of the bushes and scrub that hold the dune together.
  22. Already have the DFO interested
  23. I love my Ford Freestar as a family vehicle. Unfortunately Ford is not building family vans any longer. It has been very reliable on long trips, towing the boat and 4 heavyweights. Not necessarily the purdiest things on the road but great family vehicles, have the tow rating, hold the gear, but my neighbour swears by his Honda van.
  24. A few years back I was interested in buying a bait and tackle business. It wasn't viable. I did learn some important things. The cost of obtaining the retail permit was getting more expensive while the limitations on what one could sell were killing the value in that license. Secondly, the ministry was not issuing new harvest licenses. The only way to obtain one was to buy the business and licenses of an existing harvester.
  25. We finally heard back from the NPCA and they have taken the 'hands off' approach. According to them, the damage was done over 6 months ago and there is nothing they can do about it now. Sounds like the "3 Monkeys" are on the job.
