my buddy owned a landscaping/ snow removal business, he buys Ariens, I can ask his opinion if you want, he loves talking about this stuff

I know the Bruins fans are going to be complaining about the Moore call to me at work tomorrow. I'm gonna remind them about Bergeron planting his own face in the boards and Marchand's dramatic back dive. 2 points, in regulation! Season sweep!

Thanks, that's a smart way to do it, also a great excuse to buy a big bottle of rye.

I had lots of boat gas left over after the season so I transferred it into jerry cans for use in snowmobiles, ATV or whatever. In December the fuel system on my snowmobile froze on the boat gas. I drained that gas, added de-icer and fresh gas and it's fine again so I'm thinking there's water in the boat gas. I've got quite a few jerry cans and don't know which ones have boat gas. Can I siphon out the top portion of those cans and if there's water it will stay in the bottom? Is it worth the risk? It's all premium, no ethanol gas with stabil. Any input appreciated.

Things you notice getting ready for spring

Looks like a few teeth marks on that HJ on the top Rob. My go to, confidence HJ is black/ gold but I know quite a few guys including Borger who swear by that green/ orange belly pattern. Gotta love Canada and the changing of the seasons we get to enjoy. -
I have a hunch I know who you are revr There is a big sign at Terrier, I ignored it and took my chances, for sure you could be charged if caught up there. It's crown land but sometimes the MNR will restrict logging roads to protect the outfitters who have fly-in camps in the area.

Good choice to go with Don. Cabins, equipment, lakes, all top notch. I think the C&R is only for brook trout on some lakes. From Don's description of Vick, you might want to bring a pike set up and some spoons and take advantage of them too.

Ice thickness with the warm spell

I got an update from a big lake in Haliburton today. It topped out at 14' for this year, today it was 4' and 4' of clear and white ice but thundering and booming tonight with the colder temps. -
It might have been better for everyone if it was. I don't envy your job for having to try and catch these low life snakes who are capable of anything. Be careful out there.

That's not a truck, it's an Avalanche. Just kidding. I get the impression you're a guy who takes care of his crap. Hopefully the insurance company writes it off and gives you a fair settlement. That truck won't be the same again. It's frustrating to hear about that red tape FishNautographs, but good on you guys for trying to do what you can and acknowledging the problem.

I gave up on researching outfitters in Quebec. Even the provincial tourism websites suck. I'm sure there's some really cool places to go in QUE but with the language barrier and the outfitter's poor web presence, I just said fucht this. Good luck though

He's still a UFA at the end of the year in blue and white. Most teams have cap issues.

If Boyle is so solid, why did the Bolts trade him? I remember Cliff Fletcher saying "draft picks, smaft picks". He made some decent moves but it didn't really get us anywhere. I don't want to go down that road anymore.

I can see that, those charges could easily be debated in court and waste tax payer's money in the court system, even if the guy is brutally guilty. Catching someone fishing without a license is pretty cut and dry. So what's the advantage of catching someone fishing without 2 licences, the provincial licence and the Port Hope licence? If the snagger buys 1 licence he could buy 2. If not, it could be easily argued "I've got an Ontario licence, I didn't know you need another licence to fish here" You'll probably ignore this but whatever, I think this is the wrong path to take.
-
That's the only way this would somewhat make sense to me. I have faith (well, maybe hope) in the new management guys and their plan.
-
I don't buy that at all. We have laws against poaching, littering, how you can and can't fish etc. We have plenty of laws, we don't need more. Enforce the ones we have! Like Bigugli said, some of the European countries is what we don't want to become. These type of fees are a slippery slope. There isn't any correlation between this new money grab and the problems with poachers.
-
Good for the OFAH to fight that. An Ontario fishing licence is $30 and they want $40 just for their town, lol. If Port Hope gets away with it, other municipalities may try the same thing.

Pretty quiet here as the Leafs loose their 14th straight to the Habs. I'm happy with the point. That's 2 teams heading in opposite directions.

14-day actually looks good for Minden and Huntsville

In the late fall, The Weather Network predicted a typical Canadian winter for southern Ontario and above average snowfall. oops. 2017 is off to a good start to beat 2016 as the warmest year on record. Even so, on my lake in Haliburton, the most ice we had all last year was 10", this year we've hit 14". But yeah, this cold snap coming up should make for decent conditions for ice fishers on March break like me. -
Damn these games are exciting but stressful. Freddie looked great. Habs and Bolts loose, go Kings!

A lot of these youtube videos are fabricated bull pooh, trying to get a viral video.

I know the Leafs are in rebuild mode. If they make the playoffs or not, they are likely going to finish middle of the pack, with a middle of the pack draft pick. There won't be a first over all pick for us. I'm all in, hoping we make the playoffs. It would be exciting and making the playoffs anything can happen, like the Oilers in 06.
-
Nobody did. That's just bizarre to keep hiring ex-coaches. They're in 1st in their division while having had lots of injuries. I guess they have really high expectations, lol.

Around Elliot Lake is mostly trout stuff and lots of ATV trails accessing the lakes.
