  1. Great job TJ Looking good on that video eh the snow shoes I mean
  2. Like others said age is a big factor in the taste of the meat.... the older it gets, the stronger taste it'll be and that goes for either a buck or doe. As for tenderness, the meat must be hung to rest for a while before butchering... we always let our harvested animals hang for a good week if the tempature permits. Another factor also is the way the meat is cut.... I'm no expert in that area but the meat needs to be cut the right way otherwise it'll be tough. Leechman
  3. Great report richyb and good looking doe Must of got your heart pumping when you could see them but could not take a shot Greatest feeling a hunter can experience Great job and congratulations Leechman
  4. For me, nothing big but plenty of them... and the ones that stands out are the following: Hard water - 18" Walleye Pike - No measurements on that one 13" Crappie 17" SMB Softwater - 5Lbs Channel Cat 4Lbs+ LMB 27" Pike Leechman
  5. Paul, those are jumbo perch too bad they have parasites on them. Look at yours, the tail holds a couple of yellowish ones That pair would be good table fare for thanksgiving Great shot Will talk later about this upcoming weekend.... The ice should be thicker now that the snow melted and the temps dipped below zero to freeze it over again
  6. At -30C I don't go out unless I have some sort of shelter.... usually will go to an outfitter for that cause I don't own one. We always go out in the open and the only luxury we have is an ice bucket to sit on
  7. Hey Simon, that sounds like a good idea but for me it's a long drive to go up there. Just did a quick search in Google maps and Dryden is 1799Km's from Gatineau and would take roughly 22 hours to drive out I don't think I'll be joining this year Jacques
