  1. You might want to try me as well,my prices are VERY competitive.www.hirks.ca
  2. Yup the owner downshot hook is a good one too, especially if you rig the bait texas due to the long shank.
  3. They won't bleed, you can buy mixed tubs now with different colors.
  4. Not familiar with this model but Mirro's are a lower/middle end line quality wise.I doubt it is a double plated hull (Allumacraft is) and as for thickness almost all are at the 100mm mark and no more due to issues with the properties of alluminum if it's pressed and formed too thick.Ask the seller about this rivits, not sure, but bracing to reduce flex is the key to it not leaking over time.
  5. You get what you pay for.Its a 42" shaft so limited in it's application and it has a composite lower shaft (a cost cutting measure) were as Motor Guides have stainless (it's made by MG).I would be concerned with the durability of the mount as well.
  6. Dirk I sell the Diachi's but fish with Gammy circles ,you have the best set-up now.
  7. Not sure where you are located but I'm in Oshawa area and will have or can get quickly whatever you need.I strongly advise you to stay away from CTC lubricants,I wouldn't run their 2 stroke or gear oil in a weedwacker never mind an outboard worth thousands,GOOD lubricants are cheap insurance, don't fall for the false economy of cheap products.
  8. Dirk you asked a good Q,don't mind the funnies.Sup glue is great for reducing your plastics loss, the heads of the baits don't get ripped on hook shoulders as easy when you glue em,and it's good insurance to glue braided knots, palomar+glue=never fail
  9. I have these in blue, red, white, green or yellow for storage boxes and interiors.IM me if you want more info on em.
  10. Hotrod nailed it,know your strengths and weakness'es.Without passion and a good business plan you have little hope of making it.
  11. Well Charles I will likely run into you fishing the Quinte series or Caraveth's Stoney etc. so I'll talk to ya then and will do better than seeing it,you can jump in for a boot and I'd like to have a run in yours.I agree on the quality thing,it was my #1 on criteria but your good with the Champ in that dept.,they made my short list of 3 boats.Ernie those boats are like hot women,it's ok to look but "love the one your with",you got it good with the Ranger you have.
  12. Charles I'd say about zero chance of LeBaron's dictating to Pure Fishing how/when/where they choose to do their marketing,in real terms LeBaron's would be a fly on their *** lol.I have heard Rapala had another commitment therefore couldn't attend,no idea about Shimano.
  13. Guys it's simple, 95% of the product comes from the US and our dollar tanked resulting in 2009 product being about 15%-20% more before even allowing for the normal yr.-yr. 2-3% inflationary increases. If you can find what you want in an 08' you will save huge compared to 09' because the dealers purchased this product with close to PAR money.
  14. I thought the show was good, being the second yr. for it Andy has done a great job. What has to be realized is that this is a great venue for Manufacturers/Reps. to showcase products,I noticed several LARGE Co.'s in the industry didn't have a booth and think they missed a great chance to profile and ultimately sell product through retailers.I believe the retailers were limited in number due to space cost and costs accociated with doing a show.I have a shop 45 minutes from the show but choose not to have a booth, the math just doesn't add up.I guess it comes down to your expectations and the direction the show takes in the future, but for $12 a great way to spend a day in my opinion.
  15. Around here there is really no reason to fish anything but braid on spinning, just tape it to the spool or use backing to prevent slipping.Fish a mon/flouro leader if your concerned about visability. You will eliminate twist by fishing braid due to it not having memory and its super sensitive. One thing I look for is a fine weave with braid for spinning,I find Super Stren braid casts well due to this but just about any braid will be a huge step up compared to mono/flouro. Ps. you may not like braid for topwater becuase it will hang hooks and if you fish cranks you may prefer flouro because it sinks were as braid has more resistence in water.
  16. It will be a good bait for you to throw were you are Dirk around the shoals for smallies and just off weedlines for Largies. You can control the depth and utilize a tech. called yo-yoing on the shoals, let it drop to bottom and pop it up as you bring it back to the boat, great for walleye too
  17. Was a mason for 8 yrs.,worked for 13 yrs on the line in automotive manufacturing and got certified as a Six Sigma Black belt until last yr. when I lost my job due to the crisis in the industry. Now I have a Fishing & Marine shop and am living the dream
  18. Google Pats boating and you will get a long list of people that have posted thier experiences with boats, trailers, atv's,you will learn all you need to know.Biggest thing is find out the Title status in the State you are buying from, some have title on trailers, atvs and some don't.With no title you need proof they don't title trailers before you can get a plate here
  19. Scam, happens in the US on Craigs list/E bay constantly, send me the money and I will ship you the boat lol,ya whatever
  20. If I had to fish 1 bait for LM or SM,this would be it.It will fish well in almost any type of cover from 1'-12' weightless and deeper wieghted. For most situations I favor wacky because it fully utilizes the feature of the bait that makes them so good, the shimmy.Sometimes bigger is better for LM but you are better to just fish 4" or 5" for smallies.Hook wise for wacky the Gammy short shank circle hooks with the nylon weed guard in 2/0 size are the ticket, can fish em in cover and very small and unobtrusive,a longer shank 2/0-3/0 extra wide gap is the ticket for texas rigging these.BTW that Dinger color is one of my favorites, gets em everytime. There are big differences in how the different makes fish, you can't beat a "true Senko".
  21. My 2 cents, cull tags in no way stress fish and ya the Berkley clips are the best,it does save from chasing them around a livewell.Glory bags have been shown to reduce stress because the fish feel more secure and they don't get sloshed around in the well when running or bang up against each other, they don't remove slime and fish can be tranfered, culled etc. without being touched.
  22. Niceguy some of the modified tins (express)have come a long way in hull design and incorporate a stepped pad design but realize they are still not able to build strakes, deadrises and pockets into them like glass and are not even close in terms of thier hydrodynamic properties when compared to glass.Ride wise you would see a noticable difference for these reasons as they can't cut water like a well designed glass hull.I do believe they would be compareable to poor riding glass such as procraft in the chop but still won't touch smooth glass like a Champ etc..
  23. try this,bassboatcentral.com Express forum.
  24. Don't know what you have now Mike, but to cover everything you stated a 6'6"-7' med. w/fast tip spinning,6'6" med-med heavy w/a slow tip casting and a 7'-7'6" med. heavy fast tip casting will do it all with ease.
  25. Stoty take a guy with you that knows boats,if you can get a comp gauge you can check it yourself (warm it up 1st!!).Give the boat a good look and pull the cowling, pay close attention to the block gaskets and heads on ALL bolts, does it look like anything has been pulled apart/replaced or bolts with chipped paint or marred? This will tell you if it's been worked on,if it hasn't you can run it for piece of mind but as said that doesn't really tell ya squat except it starts/idles/revs,not how it runs under load etc..You are wise to ask the owner lots of Q's and pay attention to responses, sounds like you found your rig,G/L with it if you get it.
