I never thought to mention it on this thread but berkley has a new spinning line, a very thin low stretch no memory line like a braid but no weave in it. They say its a uni-filament line. Played with it but have not spooled/fished it yet. Its called nanofil

The only thing fireline and fireline braid have in common is the name fireline, they are 2 totally different lines one is a braid the other is a fused line.Pure fishing goofed calling the braid firelne braid imo and likey hurt its sales.
-
Johnny try the fireline braid, thats what Gary was referring to not fireline (2 different lines) the braid is the ticket.

Smallie for sure, the cheeks give it away. Green smallies are pretty common.

Bill some states dont issue boat and/or trailer titles. If you buy from a state that doesnt you must provide proof to the mto of such from the state agency where you bought it stating they are a non title state or mto will not issue you an ownership, a bill of sale is not good enough.

Vance is right, engineered to ratchet. How are things Vance?

I have a handfull left from my store I can sell ya, send me an im if you want.
-
The transom may handle it fine, max coat guard ratings are determined via a formula that take length and width into account, the problem you may run into is that structurally the boat was not built to run that fast and therefore may =loose rivots, cracks etc in the hull.
-
Hydro steering is nice, you can let go of the wheel when running and it eliminates wheel torque but a properly setup boat with cable will have lttle to none unless trmmed way up.

Lol Albert. I had read your post but didnt catch who the poster was.

I had seperate bills it's not the 1st boat of have imported

You should get a 50amp reset breaker not a inline fuse holder, cost $9-10 bucks

How about this one.I buy a boat in the US,payed 13% on the full value of boat, motor, trailer so no tax outstanding right? wrong!! I go too register the trailer and am told I owe 8% provincal tax (clerk says I should not have paid trailer pst at the border) Ok so she makes a phone call to head office to process my plate as I had no title for it and proceeds to tell me I owe 8% on the whole package as that how the province insures they get the tax now by hitting you when you get trailer plate? I say not happening, here is my receipt and you are MTO not Revenue office, this has NOTHING to do with my boat, engine.Amazingly she agreed and instead of paying like $270 she just charged me 8% on my trailer (would not issue plate otherwise). Now I have to chase revenue canada for $80 that I have paid twice.

Thanks guys!! I will missing running the shop, loved doing it and really feel bad as I had many very loyal customers and I feel like I have let them down in a sense.I will miss the visits and the chat.

Due to market conditions I have decided to close the shop Aug.31st..Thanks to all the board members that have supported me with their business. All stock must go so there are some great deals to be had.

Hard to beat amsoil for the $. If your from the Oshawa area I sell both amsoil and seafoam.
-
You can mix the oil. Years ago gelling was possible depending on brands but amsoil will mix with dino oil with no problems.

Something missed here is that stabilizer is intended to delay phase seperation brought on by ethanol if gas sits. The biggest threat from ethanol if you use your engine regularly is fuel system degredation (lines/gaskets)if they are not ethanol resistant which applies too any engine more than approx. 10yrs old give or take. The lines rot on the inside and your engine ingests the crap, not good.Change old lines and use stabil but realize the ethanol is still there eating your lines even if you use stabil so just change the lines too the new enthanol resistant type.On the octane thing I ran a high compression Merc with fixed timing and new dfi engines may be able to compensate for and prevent pre-detonation due to low octane but carbed and efi can't,end result with them would be a big BOOM if ya run octane too low for your compression. So your wasting your money running prem with a 87-89 rated engine.

Right of way? my friend 1st and foremost it is illegal to anchor in a navagation channel and impede marine traffic so he would be the one getting the ticket. The guys orignally posted about are not likely fishing a bass tournament because there are 3 of them in the boat.Reminds me of the guy that droped a bow and stern anchor in the middle of the nav channel openning to the Otonabee and sat sideways in a channel that's about 60' wide, every cruiser had to come off plane to get around him, they only reason the dumb==s's didn't get soaked by my rooster tail was they had a teenager in the boat.Did I run past him doing 50mph,yup,was I indangering them, not at all, virtually no wake, did they clue in and pull the anchors?nope sat there for hours, they deserved to get soaked and if anyone was contributing to a potentially dangerous situation it was they themselves, they say you can't fix or legislate stupid.

For wacky use the gammy ewg weedless finess 2/0 hook,it's a short shank wide gap circle type hook. With respect to what Garry said, these hooks catch fish not fisherman and missing or losing fish with these is pretty much non-existent.

drop shot weights? Do you tie them on or not?
hirk replied to sconceptor's topic in General Discussion
Soft/clean bottom I tie them, rocks no just pinch the line. -
You should install a water pressure gauge.it likely got alittle warm when under load such as getting on plane, the impellor may be worn.over heat is a constant buzz but may have just been boaderline hot briefly.take Ec's advice and check the harness and horn but replace your impellor if its a few yrs old first off.
