  1. I use fluoro leaders. I think mine are 80 lb test and have a berkley cross lock snap and good ball bearing. I get thm made to size by Brian at Backwater bait and tackle in Midland. They are very reasonable and they seem to last a long time and have not broken one yet.
  2. Nice fish. 2 at 20+ at a time and you holding them is impressive. Are you juicing? We need to get some testing done here.
  3. Good job. LOL That is one fancy bass boat. My buddie's dad has a 34' sea ray. Nice boat. I just can't afford to run 2 454s. Well, actually, I can't afford the boat either.
  4. Wow!! You and Paul got it figured out. Felicitation les gars!
  5. Yes, that is Glenwood cottages. New owners for the past 6 years. Renovated several cottages and doing some more this year.
  6. Very nice inside click on the cottage called 'Boathouse' http://www.glenwoodresort.ca/interactivemap.html
  7. I throw back big fish. That is my personal choice though. To each their own. If I wan to keep anything I will go out for 30 minutes and catch decent perch and keep about 6 for dinner. I will also keep one whitefish or smaller laker every now and then.
  8. I just got a second shipment of 4 lures today and again there was no additional charge. Took 1 week to get here. $3.50 is the cost and it looks like there aren't any extra charges under $40.
  9. That sucks about your fish. I lost a Donkey this week as well. Probably close to 5 pounds because I forgot my net. Not to hijack this thread but it looks like this guy has the j-11 clown. Great prices as well. Look under the category freshwater crankbaits and topwater http://www.nealsfishingtackle.com/tacklesupplies.html
  10. Just got back from a cottage on beautiful Lake Manitouwabing near Parry Sound. I stayed at a small resort on one of the many bays. Such a nice lake. Didn't matter how hard the wind blows you can always find calm water (unlike Simcoe). Anyway, I have 3 small children so we did a bunch of panfish fishing and we caught a bunch but I don't fish as I am too busy taking off fish and putting on worms. Between eating and taking kids for tube rides, I managed to get out fishing 5 times by myself for 2-3 hours at a time. It took me a day to figre out what would work and where the fish were. I am not much of a walleye guy so I didn't even try for them. I don't really target pike either (got a few by accident), but I do like the bass. Overall it was a very good week and once I figured out the bass I managed to get about a dozen per outing. Unfortunately I forgot my net at home and it cost me on 3 occasions. I lost a 4+ pound largie at the boat while trying to lip it, another decent largemouth at the boat and another huge smallie. doh! My boat isn't exactly fishing friendly but hey, beggers can't be choosers. enjoy Here is the cottage Setting the boat up Boat on dock Little Pike Another little hammer handle off the dock Ok now onto the bass First bass was a smallie (how fitting) Nice clean Largemouth Even better Largemout 2.6 pounds This picture is dedicated to Simon (Limeyangler) due to the blurr. haha Another nice clean smallie Nice Largemout Best Largemouth of the trip Best fish of the trip 21" smallmouth (note how wet I am trying to lip the fish off my ladder on the back of my boat.
  11. I was a bit scared to look at your pics as you are clearly threatening nudity with this statement (not only that, but it appears that you want us to be as well)
  12. Way to go Mike. You crushed them. Some really nice Largies there for sure. I had that exact same boat and caught lots of fish out of it. They are really unstable but once you get the hang of it, it does the job. You really improved on last year. Looks like you have been studying. Godd job bud. You must have been stoked with that 21" Donkey. Congrats on what looks like a fantastic holiday!
  13. Like Jacques and Radnine said. Senko or similar stick bait. Rigged wacky with a 2/0 or 3/0 octopus hook will work wonders. Crankbaits, I have to go with a Big-0.
  14. Still early boys. Those are good entries but one pike will crush them.
  15. Looks more like smallie colours with a largemouth. Congrats Happy Bassday. Very cool.
  16. I would guess 20 years old. THey have been made of plastic for some time but those built during the war did not have metal lips as the metal was being used to build "war stuff" Either way Jitterbugs are solid lures. They are never really worth all that much due to the fact that there are still so many around and yours are not by any means rare in colour. Good lures though.
  17. There are lots of specific wakebaits that can be retrieved really slowly. Mann's 1-minus, Stormsub wart, Bandit footloose, Xcalibur xw6, and Lucky craft but none of them work. Don't try them. Don't buy them on Ebay. They are terrible lures. No chance that any bass or pike would ever hit one. It is not exciting when you get blowup after blowup on surface lures. Step away from the wakebait!!
  18. My inlaws came here yesterday from the UK and my father in law brought the times paper. I have the actual paper with the fish on the front page. Not too often a fish makes the front page of a national newspaper.
  19. Yep that is correct. Eat up!
  20. I love this video. So many subtle funny lines. 5 mins long
