  1. That 7'H will be awesome for pitching, with the shorter rod it's like a extension of your arm. I'll see myself with the 7'6Xtreme next season, going with the 7'3XH this summer for the big jigs. Curiosity, what you using it for?
  2. Some more new stuff, cranks and spinnerbaits from Gagnons...decent sale small selection, going to get more next weekend if you all don't clear the shelf
  3. Bowmanville and Lynn shores I remember had carp... I might need to go and get some canned corn an try not to eat it all while fishing...green giant canned corn...soo good
  4. Nice report Dan
  5. At least your getting numbers. Are there any decent spot's around Oshawa,Whitby,Ajax area? Not sure if the carp world is as secretive but thought I would ask Hope to see you get a 30lbr...wow I wouldn't mind the fight from a 10 Thanks for the write up, MTBF
  6. Nice job, haven't been up that way (Wilberforce) in 3 summers now. Got to get there in 2012 ! Great fish! MTBF
  7. Great replies, only managed one small pike at out next spot today Lot's were sunning their selves on the banks then slid out quickly, 1 more week and a increase of temp and the fish will stay out deeper and be easier to catch!
  8. Can't beat a St Croix rod, with the strength of the blank with ART, the lifetime warranty, and that they are made at least in the US(America) makes it a good rod, no need for over sea's production when we have it close to home.
  9. Nice pike there bud, always good to get them off shore
  10. Thanks for the comment's guys, had a great time, there was a pattern to it in the retrieve, I'll let you guys figure it out, really got to feel for things. as for facebook, it's on lockdown unless I really trust you..only have a few OFC guys on there. O well, always will be a bad side to any good thing that happens in this world, only bad side really are the 3 spinnerbaits I went through lol, used the old spinnerbaits to make room for new ones for bass
  11. Part of nature, it's not the water's fault it's ours for developing too close....Hope I never see that situation.
  12. Yup, fishing with the fam jam tomorrow, different place different city lol, was fun fishing different spots. I'll have a report tomorrow, I expect 3-6 fish from our next spot, well see how I do
  13. Nice job, Pike are the best fish going 2nd to Largies Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  14. Well, I reek like pike right now haha, today Rick(Gonefishin), his girlfriend and I all got out bright and early to a new area we haven’t been to, for what was going to be a great day of Pike fishing. We covered lot's of shoreline and near the end of the stretch we choose we started to pick up fish...then the entire way back. We landed and caught 10 Pike and I frigged up on one of Ricks and lost it then we had another 4 or 5 good hook ups but they ended short. Fish 1 Spinnerbait Fish 2 Spinnerbait Fish 3 Spinnerbait Fish 4 Spinnerbait Fish 5 Spinnerbait Fish number 6 she hooked up and after a quick battle it let go, Rick threw in the same area with the minnow bait and pulled this pike in, a joined catch! Fish number 7 jerkbait Fish number 8 spinnerbait And the last pike, had to do the mercer shot spinnerbait fish again can't get rick's 5th pike to load properly but it was equal in size to our average. My advice on this thread is find flats, fish slow and don’t get stuck on color in the murky water conditions. We did lot’s better than last opener and were prepared, having tight drag to get the hook in then a fast half dozen clicks back on the drag was important to let the fish run around and to have some fun tiring them out for easy landing. A amazing day, My guess for the count was 10 today and Rick’s was 12, wish he was right but no way can I complain! Until tomorrow in a different location off shore this time And the confident smile of the best pike day of out lives MTBF Thanks for the reading ladies and gents Edit* Only added 1 pike to this weekends catch, caught a decent little guy on a spoon today. More to come next weekend
  15. 5am. calm waters dying flutter from heddon lures. nothing beats the swirl and the big jump. This brings me back to the end of August 2009 when I caught my biggest largemouth on a popper, aside from tv this is the best way to of captured it....word for word pictures and video...check it out 1:58min long..it's good http://s284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/MCTFisher/?action=view&current=PBBass.mp4
  16. Perhaps this fall some of you guys can show me how cool the big deep v's are
  17. Your right, it's not a fact but a 20k boat after 5 or so years could only resell for 11-15k at the most...I just think why not go big and anjoy it...after all to sell a big rig for 30k down from 50+ to sell if you need to downsize seems like a better option...use the money to pay the un affordable debt and to get yourself that 10k small craft that is more reasonable. Ugh it's too early to talk bad about boats
  18. Ugh, I can't narrow it down but in my eyes in the 7 weeks I fished bass every day last year the bass either would eat a Snag Proof frog over the duckweed or the didn't after 45mins of hitting a few spots...So I picked up a Booyah Pigskin jig and it always made fish come to the boat. Best Bait, just love the appearance of my Hack Attack Jigs by Strike King...going to be a good dozen big bass this summer you guys will see with that stuck in the hood of it's mouth!
  19. Lol, I see your point but it's as easy as dealing with your old boat for a few more years....to spend 15 or 20k on a boat you feel will be upgraded to and sold for 60% less is not a way to save money in my eyes, and through financing and a strong strong down payment makes it a rig you love to pay little for little for while not worrying about the flaw's and "i wishes" that are inconvenient about the craft...I'll be at the OFC get togethers in mr 12' i have and although the smallest boat you will see come a decade or 6 years later I'll be running the biggest sexiest boat...some don't need it and thats fine but as a bass angler I'm chasing the perfect boat for the job...that is when my education is complete
  20. Couldn't tell the story more...you might need a few extra cents for the Timmy's coffee price hike...so -7cents off the coffee haha
  21. BASS BOAT! Never will understand why people but a 12' then a 16' then a 18fiberglass then once there old and through a dozen they get the perfect rig....wait, I wont but a boat for 3...4...6 more years and when I do it will be a boat that will last me 10+ years...sure they are expensive to have and maintain but I would rather make 1 investment then well 4 or 5 Just me personal opinion, I like the princecraft boat on Fish'n Canada, seems to be 6-10inches above the deck...not sure the model but it's a nice deep boat with "bass like" casting deck.
  22. Ya I kinda see where you are going, but you got to admit, guys did really well out there this spring...talked to a bunch up my neck of the woods...They should of helped the Rainbows years ago and maybe in the next few years again too...Switch it up year after year you know, Lake Trout this time then rainbow for the next 2 or 3
  23. Rainbow trout...there populated enough, unless you really don't pay attention you should be doing pretty good out there catching them, is it as easy for lake trout? Are Lake trout more superior, in my eyes yes...sure they dont contribute to food money and government income but this dam world isnt about money, one os doing well as as you pointed .....they all spawn in the rivers like crazy...lake trout are sensitive and could use the help...quit ur bichi...oops
  24. Good job, caught it at 10 last night. I want to be in that boat on that show a couple years down the road
  25. Good to hear, the lake trout out there are big and healthy, nice to see more going back!
