  14. Well good evening OFC! I just returned home from a very busy summer, working for 9 weeks at Kesagami Wilderness Lodge as a guide then home for a week and since then I have been camping for the last 4 weeks fishing here and there and having a blast. Same area as last summer visiting my great grandmother and family. Gram turned a big 103 this August, we are soo lucky to have her with us still. She is in good health and state of mind. She loves having us every suummer. Anyway let's talk about the fishing. At first it was hard, I caught lot's of fish but for the life of me at first I could get nothing over 3lbs, they were all nice 2's and the bait's I threw were Snag Proof froggy's and jigs the odd time but as you will see many were on frog's. Here are some pictures to start before I show the bigger bass. I fished the main lakes and channel's this summer. The biggest of the bass came half way through the month. A little scenery of the water I was fishing Tried some deep water ledge fishing with different baits Drivin my boat My Dad with one of his nicer catches This picture is funny, same weedbed same corner night to night produced two nice 3's Here is a picture of a 4.1 on the froggy Picture two of the fish During the trip I decided to paint my boat...took 3 days off and did a nice paint job Before pic After pic One of the memorable catches, a nice northern I slammed in the weeds behind me on a scum frog, what a pull I had to give to get this fish out of the cover There is a just under 4 Picture of a morning 3lbr I had a great trip this summer and didn't experiment with different baits as much as I should of but like my PB 6lb 14oz I slammed two 5lb largies within 3 days in the same little bay over 8ft of water on the famous Rapala Skitter Pop(2") 5.0 First Picture of the hawg, loved the fight on the ML Croix Avid and the Stradic, was nice to get a big bass on a spinning rod Picture two This bass weighed a little more at 5.3lb's. No it's not the same bass as I suspected cause the tail is chopped a little but here she is. Such a nice bass Well that sums up my trip, I got my little bro out fishing and my Dad and uncles. I got to finally run a outboard and well now I want a 14 lumie with a 20 or 30hp Well see what I do a year from now haha. Anyway I got reports to applaud and read up on, thanks for viewing and hope the bassin has been good to everybody this summer! Tightlines MTBF
  15. Great fish man! Can't wait for Saturday, first day of my bass season...30 straight days of pounding largies Thanks for sharing, MTBF

  18. Hello again OFC, hope the summer has been good for everybody so far. I just got back last night from my 9 week season at Kesagami Wilderness Lodge and it was a blast, hired as a 1st year Guide I spent 30 days guiding and the rest on shore doing dockhand work. It was so much fun to say the least, the people I met and the friends I have now are superior...Can't wait to get back as a Guide next season! Here are pictures of guests I guided this summer, first well share these and some of the nice catches that we had along the way then onto some scenic and pictures of the friends and I Boys with the Waschuck group haha lot's of fun these guys were. And your's truly Other guests I had during the summer. 41" 41" 43" 40" 42" There were a few other 40" + fish that I had guests catch this season and lot's of other big pike...once over 31 32 inches long these fish just get huge and fat, It was slow learning at first but once I got out more and more I learned new spots and started making better plans. Really looking forward to next year now that I can start off with lot's of confidence. The Lodge Staff fishing day was a blast and my first time guiding we caught a few walleye and a nice pike later in the day. Loved every second of it plus the 15 or more walleye they made me fillet haha...had to learn someway Working in the boat, really fun to drive and do this haha One of the bigger Pike I caught myself this summer, a healthy 37" My PB 25" Walleye Shore lunch anybody? I miss shore lunch already Black Bear at the lunch spot, had to cook with my buddy a few times this summer. In the office chair This was my first cast on Kesagami Lake, caught this beauty 34" on a silver minnow Hanging out with my friends around the fire Picking apart a walleye Bald Eagle up in a tree Merganser's Sunset Golden Eagle, I saw 3 this summer I had such a fun summer and it's only the start of it. I have some time in the city until this Saturday morning when I leave for 4 solid weeks of camping and fishing out in Leeds & The Thousand Islands again. Going to be such fun out there bassin every day. Up to 3 setups now, possibly getting a 4th at the end of August I treated myself to a new rod and reel and a little tackle. There is a picture at the bottom of the setup, it's a 7'3 St Croix Legend Tournament Big Jig rod, feels very nice paired with a 200E7 Curado Well still lot's to do in terms of the family camping trip, I'll be on OFC then some days I hope but I need to start catching up on bass reports Take Care everybody! MTBF
  19. I'll never understand the grandfather clause for a fishing license...O well
  20. Bass Pro...only because they have everything I am looking for on every visit.
  21. Nice catch, most of our spring Pike had big bellies on them...even the shorter pike, must be lots of food around this season, last pike were skinny for the most part. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  22. Nice setup man! Tiller is the way to go, now that you have all the extra room in the boat for da fishing
  23. No didn't do the impeller. Only if it's needed to be done I'll get it done. Something to do this fall after I run it good. Obviously if the water doesn't pour out nicely I'll get it replaced but if she runs good and strong then I'll put it off until end of August...a very pricey replacement so hopefully after a test run the part will be fine for use.
  24. Thanks for the comments guys, very interesting and complex thread. He is a good friend of mine and we have kept touch since he moved 3 summers ago. We have seen each other once since then and will be doing some camping this summer. Troubled is he, no I don't think so. Just expressing his views of the way he sees the world. He has view of the thread, if he chooses to reply to comments he will give the responses to me but please understand these are not my words and views.
