  4. Hey guys, well it's that time of year again and I am almost done my Christmas shopping. I still need to get something for my dad and uncle and I know just what they need. I want to get my dad a new spinning setup and for the uncle just a rod. I am having trouble deciding what rods to get them. They will both get a 7'MH Spinning rod, they love to fish in the weeds with me but those 6'6M rods just don't cut it and I'm tired of the struggle with every fish they bring in lol. A step up in power will make a difference with some 20-30lb braid to boot. Anyway, any sour or good reviews on the Convergence, Clarus, or Voltaeus spinning rods by Shimano? They have all there new rods out and I'm not sure what to get. For the few extra $$ I they might be better off with the Clarus or Voltaeus rods but for a few less if these Convergence are of good quality I'll settle up with them. The reel for dad will be a Sedona, most likely a 2500 size. Anyway just would like a little feedback on these three series of rods. I have delt with many broken Shimano rods and all come back replaced so I know warranty isn't a issue between either series. Tightlines, MTBF
  5. Picked me up the new Jiffy Propane auger, a plastic sled...new rods reels and tackle, frabill survival suit and not sure what else I'm going to need lol :S
  6. Great intro, those walleye are monsters! Nice job, can't wait to get out to Quinte myself this winter! Thanks for the post.
  7. That thing looks sweet...
  8. Yup, Door Crasher Only. I have seen the bundles on the Compre's and Crucials. There are some nice rods to choose from. We have all the NEW Shimano rods on the floor so they old stuff has got to go. The last to see as the "Cork" Generation from Shimano. There are lot's of reels there for the sale too with pleanty of spinning and a bunch of baitcast reels. Not to mention no tax throughout everything in the store. http://www.gagnonsports.com/christmassale.html
  9. I love stradics. I have a CI4 and a FI Stradic. We have all the FJ Stradic models in now and will be selling at a good price our Stradic FI models...Only have 1000 and 4000 size's tho.(Gagnon's) Either way if u can go better but once u hit the stradic mark there is no need to go further IMO.
  10. Ya I guess it did lol, Ah well I have fun on here. Hope ur rivers turn muddy Seriously tho I mean no harm...
  11. Haha you guys are hilarious At least I can post pictures of my fish...with land/water in behind
  12. I want to cry I'm so jealous
  13. well really tho people wonder why there stuff breaks...
  14. Reel in the water = stupidity....stupidity = a better reel next year to put in the water again haha
  15. 38lbs wow lol. I didn't think it weighed that much..I'veonly brought it up the stairs and outside once for the test run and it doesnt feel like almost 40lbs lol...its nice to carry with 2 arms tho...guess that makes it feel lighter. Anyway a few extra pounds is fine by me, this machine is sweet...cold start 1 pull a second after i connect the propane line...I'll take that all winter ...I'll pull it behind me in a sled and will take the abuse to my arms for the 5 seconds i am lifting it from hole to hole.
  16. The couple day's I got into 5lbr's early the bite continued for me throughout...There is always a quite time between 10-1 it seems then it fires up again...Who knows why
  17. I don't know for sure but my guess is maybe 30lbs. It's not to touch for me to carry.
  18. Just writing again, I started up the auger last night outside and it was very simple. The engine ran on the 2nd pull...didnt putter or try to cut out it just ran clean smooth...Let it warm up for a few minuted then touched the throttle a few times...seems to spin very fast, I'm sure through the ice the speed would be slower. Anyway, I'll know more after some on ice use...
  19. Even tho ur not my friend Happy Birthday Lew
  20. Congrads on the new PB...that 6lb largemouth bridge is hard to cross. Hope I get to do it again next summer! Thanks for posting, MTBF
  21. I just bought the new Jiffy Pro 4 8" Propane and it looks great...got the 4 stroke oil in it and all I need is the cylinder. No priming, no mixing, no choke, and well there a bunch of other features. I believe it's a powerful 49CC motor on mine...they are suppost to be quieter than traditional gas augers...I'm really excited about this Anyway we have both the 8 and 10 inch Propane augers in at Gagnon Sports. I'll let people know when the Strikemaster and Husqvarna/Normark augers are in also. 1 min video on the propane auger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwGs8t1VfIw&feature=related
  22. For bass you could just run braid to fluoro in a 12-15lb line range. I have used 15 and am now using 17lb fluoro leader for pike...I just use mainline fluoro not a "leader" branded fluorocarbon. Cranks use 10lb or 12lb not heavier.
  23. Great fishing there! Thanks for sharing.
  24. Ya that's kinda a jump. What a package tho Still chasing the little Humminbird.
