  1. Shimano reels and a mix of G.Loomis/Shimano rods here. Love there warranty and what the company provides to the fishing industry. Glad they fixed up your Calcutta.
  2. EDIT!! Can't believe I forgot this picture, big fish of the trip First thing in the morning dragging a worm....got 1 bite before breakfast and this was it haha, great fight.
  3. The slop is pretty but didn't produce many fish for the weekend, fish came from the edges and pads mostly...some off shore fishing with tubes too but August is the time for the topwater bite in the slop there. The "black" water is actually quite clear but due to the deep drops and dark bottom is makes every where look so darn "fishy". Thanks for the reply's guys.
  4. Awesome report! Love the scenic shot's too. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  5. Hey OFC, been a long time since I've posted a report but here it goes. I went back north of Kingston to my favourite lakes for a vacation with my family. We rented a small cottage on the lake and it was great. Friday was a rainy start to the trip but it did stop raining later in the evening. Fishing was slow for me to say the least. I was there from Friday afternoon to Monday morning, got out twice a day and had a great trip. Here are some pictures from the trip, here is a picture of a double header my brother and I had. Catching a small bass working shoreline. Another one but on a senko Here is a cool picture my mom got while I caught a chunky bass working edges with plastics. And the fish The next two pictures are of my brother and the other is my uncle who I visited while down for the weekend. My brother caught this bass as the first fish of the trip. Let's say, he beat his brother at his own game and he made sure he knew he was in the lead Later in the day my uncle and I got out for a few hours, here is a picture of a nice Pike he caught bring a frog across pads across the channel Nice chunky fish I nailed on isolated pads Big bass of the trip The next morning was very cold so I fished slow with tubes and senkos mostly. It was honestly a 1 bite morning with my brother for the 2hrs we were out before breakfast and this great bass hit, great fight a mile out. Another skinny Pike I caught by surprise Last fish of the trip, caught it off the bank the evening before we left Thanks for looking everybody, might be back for a weekend in 2 or 3 weeks. MTBF
  6. I'll watch you throw a slop frog for some exciting topwater action on 6lb mono...then you can watch me catch bass frogging with the proper no stretch strong as hell braid. I'll enjoy my fight, you will break off and swear about it
  7. Great fish buddy!
  8. uni to uni knot all the way.
  9. Lmao
  10. Not a river rat myself but why ban roe? It's plentiful, can't be invasive in transport like baitfish, crawfish etc...and takes personal time to cure, tie, etc. Not to mention it's in the fish these guys catch and with proper legal harvest your entitled i would think. What is not right is taking roe and leaving fish dead on bank. Perhaps reasoning for banning as that is a sight everybody see's on the shores of creeks. Tightlines, MTBF
  11. Have a look at Shimano Compre rods, no for grip, great graphite, through blank reel seats so you get fingers on the blank, the eva foam lasts a lifetime and is a lighter material, and yes as other's mentioned Lifetime Warranty. Not sponsored but I'll bring you to a Compre way before a mojo. Hope this helps, MTBF
  12. Me too I think
  13. nice talking to ya today, ill let you know if im out ur way

  14. It's a combo of 3 different small lakes all connected and the channels between them. Eastern Ontario around and past Kingston is the place to fish, after fishing these lakes I would rather a few nice trips over a dozen weekend trips close to home Going back for 3 days in September, never fished that time of year there, Frog's might not come out who knows. Excited to try!
  15. Was about 16 years old and was fishing a small pond behind a waterfall off the bank, across the bay there was this huge dead tree..I was there and it fell down, as round as a truck and it fell straight across the little corner of this pond..the wave it made in that shallow water and echo was intense...Not to mention all the bass it scared off Very cool moment you had Dan
  16. I fished it for 3 days in May. It's a great reel. The gearing is better it's lighter, cranks well and the micro drag and solid frame are nice. Just my 2 cents....
  17. Looked like a fun trip Joey, thanks for sharing that. MTBF
  18. Nice Largies and smallies man, wow that largemouth is a monster. Heading out tomorrow morning for a week of bassin in my favorite area Hope to have a report as nice as yours Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  19. Great report. Thanks for sharing. MTBF
  20. Nice Largemouth
  21. I use the Tracer Braid on my Spinning reels. Works well tying baits to the "low vis" spots and having the bright yellow is a plus. Casts well also. When it comes to baitcasters I have some Super Slick braids and Sunline FC braids spooled up. All work well.
  22. I'll catch some on it I tossed one around on Scugog in what looked like 4-7ft of water, there were weeds around and the rig didn't get buried in them. Get a lighter rig, use 3/16oz jig heads and some small swimbaits. It's not heavy but large in size so requires a side arm "toss" and not so much a cast...use the right rod, flippin stick or bigger or don't bother hurting your equipment. Buy a rod that is rated for 1-1/4oz-2-1/2oz baits.
