  1. Way to make the ENTIRE ROOM green with envy!!! ENJOY, please do a report with pix pix pix or it didn’t happen
  2. I didn’t mean to insult those with glass boats. Agreed... Performance, creature comforts and ride are unparalleled. I’d have one if I owned a cottage and knew the waters well.
  3. The only reason I’ll buy a glass boat is for the motor that’s on it and the trailer that’s under it.
  4. I’ve seen some painful launch fails on video. I just dumped a glass boat at the landfill. Unhooked, backed up the hill, put it in drive and punched the gas...bye!
  5. I’ve got tons of 5/32 x 3/8 and 5/32 x 7/16 solids if you need a handful. 2xxx alloy.
  6. Never had Turducken. Is it good? I don’t like goose but I hear duck is a red meat?
  7. True, I have a 16’ aluminum bowrider on wobble rollers and have a near identical spare trailer I was thinking of changing over to bunks or bunk roller slides while it’s empty. I worried about pressure points on my hull from the wheels but it hasn’t done any damage so far and I’ve towed it loaded heavy with gear, double layer of waterlogged, rotten floors and 100’s of lbs in waterlogged foam. I think alum hulls are tougher than people think. so I’m interested to see what the op gets for suggestions. I’m torn between nylon bunk slides/glides and bunk style roller tracks. if the nylon/UHMW glides work well I’m going that route
  8. Can’t help you but is your company hiring???
  9. Wobble rollers, or bunk roller slides? nothing worse than winching out in late oct in nasty weather and have a wobble roller bugger off out of its bushing and going cockeyed.
  10. Especially when they are the same colour and you forgot to write the vin on it. but I’d rather shell out $40 so I didn’t have to switch the plates. Easier to sell it later also
  11. your trailer will not exceed 900kg empty so you don’t need the weigh in crap. I’m sure an estimated weight and carrying capacity will suffice. (Axle rating minus dry weight of trailer materials) lots of people register trailers as homemade, even if they are not (ie bought without ownership because seller can’t find it)
  12. my thoughts exactly. So...a person must tow the trailer on a trailer, figure out how to load and unload and all at the mto scale. I bet they’d love that
  13. I’d like to know what mine is fully loaded with coolers, camping gear, 3 batts, kicker, bow troller and food. I figure 2k + + beer, 3499lbs. Perfectly legal.
  14. I’d be open to one if I can get a low miler. I think they ran until 2010-ish which I’d consider. I like the boxy style that reminds me more of the earlier boxy classic suvs like the early 4runners and pathfinders. Truckish. The reason I’d like to be max 10 years old is due to unibody corrosion issues.
  15. I’d be open to them as long as they don’t have cvt transmissions. We almost bought a murano for the wife until I found out about the trans. Game over. I’ll look into them.
  16. I like the idea of small displacement with tow capacity. Not a new concept with Ford. The late 80’s Tbirds turbo coupes. My only concern is the short wheelbase for towing. I’ve got a 16’ alum boat. All my towing is low centre of gravity. Should be ok I’d think. I’m not towing a glass boat or boler camper.
  17. I have a company truck now. All expenses paid. 4x4. And I love it, but, I think about paying that out of my pocket going forward, so I’m with you. Right down to the utility trailer and all. 2 L, that’s a late model escape? eco-boost? I didn’t realize they could tow.
  18. Sometime ago I posted a thread looking for a older but capable 4 x 4 opinions. it is something I never went through with and now, because I’m looking to make a career change, I will likely need something with a little better fuel economy (for commuting) and reliability. Any thoughts on vehicle so I can tow a boat or a tent trailer with? AWD would be nice, but if this junction the only criteria it needs to have is semi-decent on fuel and capable of towing up to 2500 pounds. Full sized pick ups/SUVs or anything with an eight cylinder is definitely out of the equation. Hoping for something less than 10 years old and less than $15k i’m actually thinking about going back to a minivan, God help me LOL
  19. Could this scenario also happen in bog/marsh where there’s enough solids to bottom out but enough mud to spin tires? I’m just asking because it would be really unfortunate to get stuck in a large open area with nothing to winch from and on terrain that’s not easy or impossible to navigate on foot.
