  1. I hear you. I’ve been ordering and accumulated a few k in boat goodies for this winters rebuild. Lots of waiting time and delays. I figured that most things would have been replenished, but you might be well right. I watched a Scotty downrigger go out of stock on me yesterday right in front of my eyes...add to cart, oops. Too late!
  2. What gives? We’re trucking along as normal (industry) so why supply chain issues with recreational product? shipping lanes not open yet due to winter?
  3. Another good read. the gill net incident would have been funny to see
  4. Gear aka tackle, lures reels. I’m looking for an Okuma reel that seems to be out of stock everywhere.
  5. I’m starting my shopping list and want to load up on gear early. I’m seeing stuff out of stock already. Not sure if it’s due to the severe product shortages we saw by mid season last year or not. every place I went to last year looked as if they were going out of business. Even the CT’s were totally gutted. anyone anticipating the same thing this year?
  6. Waste of time and money. Wire wheel, paint with POR 15 or the Canadian equiv .(DOM # something) and tremclad topcoat. You actually want some minor rust on it for POR to grab to. It won’t stick to smooth sanded surfaces. (I know this from exp) If you’re going to strip it bare, disassemble, send out for Chem dip or blasting then hot dip galvanizing...never paint again. though you’re probably not far off buying a new galv trailer...
  7. I’ve got an older roller trailer that has a wobble wheel bugger up occasionally. Thinking of switching over to these bunk slides or roller bunks.
  8. I’d sure like to see how someone dealt with end capping the scroll end on the bottom step.
  9. Toyota Highlander And other hybrids have auxiliary power options for camping. Can’t wait to see what the electric F150 can do. And the hummer is coming back in pick up form with a plus equivalent horsepower. I recall reading a new story how during the ice storm in Quebec a decade ago or so, they put diesel locomotives in the city centres and use them to power the city through inverters. They dropped them in the street
  10. Some great stories here. I’m hearing a common denominator here; “so and so used to brew” I wonder if the mini-keg brewers last longer before giving up brewing? I have to imagine at some point it becomes too much of a hassle regardless of equipment.
  11. Agreed. I hate LVP. Sure it looks better than the old laminate and it’s waterproof, but laminate had decent substance. Your subfloor has to be perfect for LV. If I ever do it again, I’m going engineered hardwood or heated ceramic. It’s worth the money
  12. Would be nice, but I’d put my money on spruce if carpet went in day one.
  13. I’m definitely going to look into that. I’ve got a bunch of growlers I could use. I don’t want to buy bottles. If it wasn’t for mini-keg or growlers I wouldn’t get into it. Too much work with all the extra filling/washing/sterilizing.
  14. I’ve been considering brewing my own craft beer after hearing of much better quality results. I’m not talking the plastic bottles filled with the beer ingredients out of the box kind of beer. I’d invest in a mini-keg set up and a full mash/boil process with a system like this; https://www.clawhammersupply.com/products/digital-electric-120v-homebrew-beer-system a local supply said they could set me up with ingredients that would put me close to my favourite craft brews. anyone here doing this already and has it been successful/rewarding?
  15. I can’t seeing there being a clean way of doing that without dismantling the railing system and reinstalling after you clad the treads. My lvp were not bendable and each tread nose/plank was like $60 each honestly, I’d just remove the carpet, sand and paint the treads and stringers (railing system too if you prefer). Carpet runner up the middle or not.
  16. Excellent, thank you. Canadian too!!
  17. I’m starting to gather info on building my own lures. I’ve watched a bunch of great videos. Looks like a great way to be involved in the hobby in the off season. any of you guys build your own? I’d be interested on good sources for supplies and quality wire forming equipment that won’t break or break the bank. I want to make everything from small spinners to large Muskie lures and Salmon/Laker spoons. Lyman style copies too. some of the wire formers look like they don’t work all that well. I’d like to be as pro as possible.
  18. I almost bought one but The wife wouldn’t let me sell the house
  19. Is that the access with 2 big round parking areas and like 4ramps? Never launched there but looks quite good
  20. Watching with interest. $20 a pop at Bronte adds up
  21. Can’t help you there but I’m very interested. Hope others will chime in
  22. What part of NS are you considering? I love the south shore. Mahone Bay Area. The food and craft beer down there...my god. prefer the rugged side over the Bay of Fundy side. Or old mr AG. Bell had his piece of Paradise in Baddeck. Wonder what the fishing is like on the Bras D’Or. it’s a mix of salt and fresh iirc
