  1. I agree as I was/am in the same boat and learning as well. So I posted what I found about it. But now I have found a few MORE bit's of info here: sekin how to this may help some. Thanks to all that have posted valued info in this thread too! Cheers. Geoff
  2. That's a nice "HOLY SH@T"! fish Cliff I'de love to get out with you one day some time next month ( as I'm moving in this month to the new place...), cheers. Geoff
  3. looks like you guys had a good time, nice report Jeff.
  4. Congrats!
  5. I read every word in awe when matched to the pic's of the story you told. Like others have said, keep on posting and documenting these events as i am sure you will be rewarded... I THANK YOU! Geoff
  6. Subaru too? I have had these on more then my Subaru and they have been the best so far. Still worth it when you look at how well they hold up and how well the preform. Best time to buy OEM wheels is 60 to 75% way through the season. You can toss snow's on your current wheels when the time comes (like others mention not to soon as they flake away) have them pulled and put on the OEM steel wheels you buy later on. Do the change over at the same dealer in the spring as they will not charge much more if anything. As for when to put snow's on, I have been told by many diff. tire folks that 7*C and colder is the best time to have them on as there is less wear and tear on them. Anything over 7*C on a reg. basis will wear them down to the point that you will get only 2 GOOD seasons out of them for anyone that dirves any distance. BTW, with the KM I do a year (610KM today just for one 2 hour meeting) I will be getting new snows this year for my Subaru () and also getting new wheels for them later on for the summer swap. I'll gladly store those 4 steel (OEM) wheels in the garage for a bit at a huge discount... Geoff
  7. My condolences to Garys family and friends. *edit* I must add that this comment on his web site is something I think we all share. Reflection: Water can reflect it's own tranquility and the beauty of nature. While fishing one can reflect on both
  8. This fish is the Letterman, David fish as the gap in on the bottom and not the top...
  9. are you sure it's a LM and not a 1/2-a-mouth?
  10. I found some seats for sale on kijiji.ca for a good price for you to split. kijiji ad
  11. looks like you had a great month there Garry and are off to another good one. I like the kijiji ad's too that I have seen of yours...
  12. you are one luck person tibbs, great report and pic's!
  13. Glad to see that you both made it home safe from that Scott. I would tell your buddy to talk to the dealer he got the boat and trailer from about this problem. Any good sales person would offer any help they can to get the return on investment for a happy customer (ie you buying a boat in time and telling friends about such a great dealer so there may be a chance for many more deals down the road). A bitter customer spreads the word about 10 times faster about poor service/support/what ever then a happy customer. But I know when I am happy with something I have purchased, I have no problem talking about it and the place I got it from. Something to think about before he jumps all over the person at the dealership he got the set up from (re: trailer issue). Would you be more likely to help someone that was nice, honest and open to you or someone that was all rude? Cheers, Geoff W.
  14. thanks all.
  15. I agree but a double uni knot is better then a swivel IMHO.
  16. Thanks Charles. Now I have to wait and see if my buddy takes or let's me get it...
  17. Thanks John. I am # 2 in line for this boat as I mentioned my buddy is looking at it too. I only get a chance at it if his funds fall short for any other reason. Now I have to tell the wife (or figure out some way) as to where the $$ went if I get the chance at this boat...
  18. Hey folks. So I have an option in front of me for a 16'6" Lund that is 15-years old with a 120HP and a 55LB min kota on the front. It needs some work on the seats (with age that happens) and some work on the carpet & top. The boat is not kept in the water and is well cared for. The package is, boat, 120HP, 55LB, trailer and top (that needs a new pannel) for $5000.00. I have not seen it or pic's yet as it's a buddy of a buddies boat. Do you think it's worth 5K for a boat of that age? Thanks all. Geoff
  19. nice looking ride CC
  20. # 91 - WATERMELON/CREAM WHITE
  21. have a quick search on this board for "Halimar" and you will see what my thoughts are. The do rent a boat there but if you are ok in a canoe then those are free. Have a look, I've even posted 2 fish I got there this year... Oh and it's on a great chain of lakes too...
  22. How far do you want to go and in what direction? There has been a lot of posts about places to go in a 3 hour or less drive. have a look at some of the old posts as you may find what you are looking for. Cheers.
  23. The Causeway on 7a can be a bit dangerous with kids but worth a try for some perch. There are a few parks along Water St that is just off 7a. I see people there all the time I go by but there may be better places from some of the locals...
  24. I was thinking the same thing when I was reading it... I guess his career choice he felt was a natural calling…
