  3. You can have EVERYTHING involved with your day taken away. IE, you drove to the spot (car can be taken), your bait, lures, rod, reel and have to fight to get it back. If I find it later I will post unless another member posts it for me (time to put the kid's to bed so no PC for a while )
  4. the last thing you want to do is get busted with no licence! It's doesn't cost much at all for a licence so why chance it? as for spot's I can't help as I'm out in the East end... but different size and colour spinner baits is a good call. try the R bend and the inline one's. you can also use heavy line and a jig with a stick bait...
  5. I agree 100% on that one. not like that maters but still, I do...
  6. correct. all his "winnings" will be in trust...
  7. Thanks for the reply Burt. It turned out well, tks. I am going to bring some to my grandmother next week and she is the taste tester to let me know if I did a good job or not. Now I have to print this page so I can try the ribs too, thanks!!! The way I do Smoked Salmon: salmon cut to portion for dinner Marinade portions for 24HRS in brine (or whatever you want to call it) in the fridge before you smoke it. Brine is made up of a 4 to 1 ratio of 4 parts low sodium soy sauce to 1 part honey. Do not bring to a boil, just hot enough that all is mixed well, let cool and add some to a spray bottle. The rest goes in the Tupperware with the meat (again soaking for 24 or more HRS) Bring smoker to 200* (I use the Kingsford charwood) and then add the “apple” soaked wood chips. Add the salmon Spray with the mix in “sprayer” every 35 to 40 min to keep fish from drying out and you are done in 4 hours. Store in vacuumed sealed bag if not eating right away and can be kept for a few months.
  8. Ryan, how can I get you a prize for this? I have a 2GB MP3 player sitting here new in the case (samsung yp-s2 in black) to donate but I'm out in the Durham area. You going to ask Dave to drop by and pick it up as I'm not far from his home town (LmAo!)? I'm sure I might be able to dig up another one as well (just need to look for it). Let me know via PM when you can, cheers. Geoff
  9. I think the total $$ of all prizes for the derby is $450,000. What he WILL WIN is a boat, motor and trailer for sure. if at the end of the derby he still has the bigest fish, he then gets the truck worth $40,000 as well (in trust). I SURE HOPE HE DOES WIN!!!!
  10. OH man that ALL looked so good! Too bad there was a bit of the green stuff snuck on the plate... Now, I need to know about the rib's. how long and how hot? anything in the pan below or is that the drippings from the meat? I just did a salmon and trout on mine tonight and I didn't even see this thread over the past few days, HAHAHA.
  11. rather spend that on the 17'6" fiber then the 14' tinny.
  12. Johnny's answer could have been much worse...
  13. I now ask as I have the minnkota with the var. speed adj. so I can run on setting 5 but be on 13% power when needed. and seeing how my sonar is mid boat I should have the length in power cab. to do so. Those windy days would be not a problem if this works like that for me...
  14. PS, the 8Hp would not be on if this is the case...
  15. so wait one sec, if I have a trolling moter that can be hooked to the bow (eventhough it's a transon mount unit) I can hook it up, fire it up to the speed I want and use my 8HP off the back end of the 14' tinny to steer? DANG if this works that well then I have to make some changes to good old "I'm the EYE catcher not her"
  16. AHHH, Terry owes me a new keyboard for that...
  17. I have those very same ones and LOVE them in the PM. Mine are also over 15-years or more old...
  18. nice few days out for sure! try that same crayfish bait on a shakey head jig and see what you think. it makes the bait stand up tail to the ground and claws up so if you test it (same amount of fish vs...) I would love to know how you make out. for me the jig head is working well...
  19. great, now I want to go melt down some of my wife's candles, add a bunch of garlic salt to it and let cure and try it...
  20. nice fish and report.
  21. Done, diddly-done...
  22. you guys are no fun, I was going to say to Terry he had a 5-day ban or something to get him going...
  23. I'm maxed out, good luck...
