  1. Too bad you weren't there to take some pic's and see it all for yourself.
  2. Isn't this same post in "Lodge and Guide Showcase"?
  3. first off, bolt cutters are a must for you and the fish. Then the net, rod, reel and line. As for rod, reel and line (not incl. leader) go heavy and or/strong stuff. Reel, same. Rod, somening that you can 'horse' the fish in with fast so you don't kill it due to a fight time that was too long (ie, a musky on a bad rod isn't a good thing). play safe and good luck...
  4. that and the Asian Carp...
  5. find anything that will hold the heat that the day produces. like, bolders store heat much longer then weeds that are dying or are dead. even a log will hold more heat then weeds. find something that they can 'warm up to' and pitch it. but that's just me. they want to keep warm and on the feed bag as long as they can so I would hit places like that in any lake 1st.
  6. where are you going or want to go and fish? what type of gear do you have? are you a regular musky angler with all the tools to catch, release in a safe for you (and fish) manner? I honestly think your post is going to sink to the bottom without any details...
  7. nice big brown there for sure. gives me hope, haha
  8. nice report and it looks like he's teaching you all the good and new tricks...
  9. Salmon and bow's come in every Thursday like clock work I'm told at the spot most call "Metro". Best time to get them is 1st thing in the morning. This was a tip from a few others here that I have read so I'm passing it on...

  13. Mike, my Honda 8HP 4-stroke is great. It also has an alternator built in so I run a cable to my batt. for the fish finder and it charges it as long as the motor is running. Mine is over 12 years old and is still going very strong. I would get a used Honda any day! In fact, I think I had seen one in the classified here not that long ago...
  14. Did you try trolling?
  15. nice report and great pic's Justin.
  16. Just like a gremlin fed after midnight... it's not a gremlin before but they do change... ah hell I don't know but nice fish and weclome new guy to the board too.
  17. Hey all. So I went to a lodge this weekend with my wife and kids. I didn’t expect to get much if any fishing in as well, it’s her (the Mrs.) b-day weekend. So we get there, get the car unpacked to find we had a decent size room and good beds for everyone. It wasn’t musty and had a decent view and I swear I could see a water slide from my room... Either way, we got everything unpacked and all set up for a fun day (Saturday) and wouldn’t you know it, they all want to go and hit the water! So we get ready and head down the steps to the water. On our way I swear I had seen a wolf and a moose!!!! My kids said they had seen it too but I have to take it with a grain of salt from them as they are only 7 and 3. So we get down to the water, get all set up and the place is packed and not a single fish in sight. I checked the shallows, the deeper pools and NOTHING! I even had people say to me “excuse me, this is MY SPOT” just while I was passing by! Needless to say the wife and kids didn’t catch a thing but they all did have a fun time. I did have a look at the pic’s my wife took on the camera (yet to download them to the pc) and in fact there was a moose! She has a pic of a moose, a wolf some scenery and the lodge. When I find the time I will post some for you. All I can say is that Great Wolf Lodge is a good place to go for the kids to have fun (adults too) but the fishing sucks.
  18. One word "ebay" and it gave me a lot of sellers selling 6 for under $20.
  19. Hey Cliff. I have a clam 2000 and it's great for 2 people. Clam products are top notch and I haven't read much on the others. Maybe HT has something decent too? As for a heater? I have the coleman blackcat and it works very well. It uses the 1LB bottle and the Lowes by me is selling the Mr.Heater refilling adaptor to fill from your 20LB tank for under $20. I hope that helps. Oh and Costco get stuff in from time to time too. Geoff
  20. HAHA, amazing and this could get messy...
