I sold my pin and now have a baitcaster just for da river. esp for those day's when using a very small bait you can drop it right where you want to. not saying a pin isn't the way to go or a baitcaster is best, it's a personal pref as to what you are more comfortable with. as for the shift type R reel, who pay's his bills? yup, Rapala SURE does. any good baitcaster works...

salty, those frabil combo's are a fly reel and I have my own version of it. great for no line twist and they are fun to use too.

Me, I would keep it as is for now for a few reasons. 1, you tend to flip stuff so why pay extra when not needed 2, it looks like it will last for a season or 4 for that matter 3, do you really need to spend more for something that works 4, I can go on and on but NICE BOAT!

one last thing, if the motor cannot get you up on plane quick then it's time for an upgrade as you can swamp yourself or even flip it due to the back end dropping. you want to get almost on the bow asap to get it on plane.
