  1. I find it very odd that there is no floor drain by the HW tank / furnace area at all. Even though you have septic you should still have a drain of some sort going to the sump pump.
  2. I loved doing that sort of stuff with my old girl. I do miss her...
  3. Deal. Sure that's one HELL of a cab ride there but I'll come and I WILL bring some of my smoked walleye provided I have some. If not, then something else, lol
  4. If you don't like it and DO buy it and I miss the sale maybe we can work a deal...
  5. Well Cliff, here's one for you. I don't have my kids until 7 days from now. You two can use my place as needed. I just need 1 of the 3 bedrooms and you have my cell so I will leave it up to you. Tomorrow I do plan to go fishing with 'E' but you know how to reach me. You two are MORE that welcome to stay here if needed (pet's inc.) AND we could work on the smoker when I'm not at work...
  6. Welcome to the site, enjoy.
  7. Just watch your TV bill over the next 2 months is all I CAN say about UFC 167... LOL!
  8. Not me but I WANT one too now. LOL. I just bought fisherpete's unit for the ice but I need a new unit in the boat (it's an old Paranamax 128 in there now) so it would be ideal for me.
  9. Ryan that is one TOP NOTCH looking smoker/BBQ that you have. Well done! I may take a look at or apart the 1970/1980's up right freezer I have tomorrow after I attempt to get out fishing and see what I can get started on it. I do what to keep the fridge as an item I want to convert to hold a mini keg with a draft tap and sell it BUT I can 'burn' it up as a smoker too. I just need to figure out what one works better as a smoker and takes LESS effort from me to modify.
  10. wow ch312, it looks SO good! I hope to start on mine (convert fridge to smoker) in the new year as I cannot get it out of the basement on my own. Well, I might be able to but I don't want to damage the house too much... LOL
  11. I hear that CTC has the Lowrance Elite 4x Ice COMBO on sale at some stores for $279. Might be worth a look as it come with both transducers. I don't have one, just relaying a possible deal...
  12. I have a 301 E too and I like it.
  13. Also, you can go from Drive to Neutral without having to pull the lever or push the button on the shifter of the tranny to go from one to the other. While going to all other gears you need to pull in and or press the button (depending on the shifter in the car/truck). You can basically slap it in and out of gear at any time. Just like pushing the clutch in on a 5-spd. I did it out of pure boredom while driving an Auto VS 5-SPD but I found it very useful. If I needed to power out of any situation all I needed to do was a quick motion to slide it back into gear and I would be on my way again. Thus like changing gears in a 5-spd, 4th to 3rd... Again, just my findings with a 4Runner.
  14. Art, the whole gas, gas GAS part is VERY true when in an actual driving situation. What Peter is asking (and how I read it) is why is he's not stopping on the surface when pulling off the driveway. Yes the 4Runner could be running at a higher RPM as it warms up and so forth but to ease the forward momentum by going to neutral while braking should help. I know what worked for me with my old 4Runner so I shared my findings. Not a shot at you by any means Art. It's just my personal findings. Me; I would hammer the gas and go around anything in the way now, BUT because of that I no longer drive...
  15. I have to agree with 'Fisherman' on this one. I had a 4 Runner (mind you it was a 1994 and this was over 10 years ago when I had it) but I would always pop it into neutral when slowing down; even in the summer I did that. It did help but I think I did it more because I missed driving a 5-speed.
  16. Same here Simon BUT it does happen. Buy choice or not. It does happen. I need it (like I said it's my church) but at times you have to put things aside to deal with life. Fishing "will always be there" (I HOPE!) so when the time comes to get back to it I WILL be there.
  17. You can try BUT you may get shot due to all them rich folk hunting...
  18. I'm in the same situation as Sinker... My kids do live with me Ex but I don't drive anymore so for me to get out it's at least 1 hour walking just to see what it's like out there. New town, new life, new job but trying to make the best of it. Fishing is like my 'church' is the best way I can describe it.

  22. I really don't know about that B... I am sure SHE could but I, I've said too much...
  23. I got my nephews combo's like these and they held up very well. In fact I a few years later I got another for my son (daughter already had a mid-sized combo). @ CTC a Shakespeare Amphibian 5-ft Spinning Rod and Reel Combo http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/shakespeare-amphibian-5-ft-spinning-rod-and-reel-combo-0781021p.html and by not spending a TON on the combo, that you don't know how much use it's really going to get, you can load them each up with a tackle box and lures. I spent 1/2 the cash on the combo and the other of the much needed hardware. Makes it that MUCH easier when they do want to go out fishing that they have some options.
  24. Lucky my eyes are still decent I guess Lew. LOL
  25. Glad to see (got the msg yesterday you 2 were out) that all and all it was just good to get out on the ice that was deemed safe at the time in the area.
