  1. Beauty humpback chars there Al. Some great colors showing for early season, late ice out fish. Looking forward to a go at 'em soon. Had to have felt good getting out.
  2. Know a couple guys that still call 'em "Jackfish." If it's not CC's it's lube tubes. Isn't "pickerel" actually slang for walleye? lol. Pegged it, drilled it, bombed it, nailed it. Skunked or blanked, Doink!
  3. So far so good Chris. MacClays, fishcounter, E-Trex and portable finder in one pic... that may as well have been my boat dood. Too bad about the tense feeling with the outfitter. Looking forward to more. And the great grouse pic should be in a mag somewheres.
  4. Foreman... guide... same thing really Cliff. lol. Man's gotta eat though.
  5. lol. Two tanks in that pic. One for the oil and the other for the gas.
  6. Some great pics Rob. Many good years ahead dood!
  7. Looked like a mint day on Lady O. Yeah... would like to sometime boat my first open water king too.
  8. Think I saw that motor on the Big Rideau this morning. When the guy fired it up at 6:00am in Portland, the people in Smiths Falls felt tremors and the cloud of smoke wiped out an entire flock of passing geese. lol. The guy sure did get 'er up on plane and tour outta there though. lol Again Lew, it's a one of a kind. Things aren't at all made like they used to be... or some could make them.
  9. Rippin Terr !!! Rippin' eyes! I'm with Shane cause once you get that Lund with all it's fancy shmancy toys and comforts, you'll get soft man and the fishing will come tough to ya. Just sayin'. lol.
  10. They're all fishing champs today Dad. WTG!
  11. It's those old pics that are the best keepsakes Lew. Very cool shot. That boat looks like it's made out of solid rock... but with wood gunnels.
  12. On a fly-in must've been a blackfly that bit me on the pinna. Sucked cause one guy was the worst snorer ever and that bite would irritate when putting the earplug in. Scotch and Gravol helped take the irritation away though. lol.
  13. Will... ya kinda got schooled by the Hobbit this time. I mean, ya got some nice bass but Cliff kinda went ape on the overall species count. Fun times guys!
  14. Good on ya Brian. And great fish for da kid. Rainy days for dem lakers is when the big ones bite... and fight.
  15. Great Father's Day dinner here at our place today. Got drenched this morning catching lakers and brought one home for the BBQ. Cedar planked the fish and smothered it with maple garlic butter scallops and shrimp. Spent the afternoon looking through Dad's old photos which he scanned and put to Photobucket. Wondered how I went so long up north only seeing him a couple times a year, yet since moving home in 09 it's been the best thing having him and mom close by. He never really did teach me to fish at all, but nowadays it certainly is great teaching him a thing or two about it after he's taught so much, much more about life. Happy Father's Day.
  16. Was gonna say that Lew!!! Joey... I'll test the red and whites, the goldy and whites, and the black and gold too. Free of charge. lol. Good work.
  17. Mooooooo! Goodun dood!
  18. Doesn't matter the length ya give it today cause in 40 years it'll be double. lol Congrats Cloudy. Fine muskie for the Missus and yerself dood.
  19. The best way to get the real feel and best meal deal is to dine on the full course of pics and videos smothered in text. I'll take some Attawapiskat well done with a side of awesome any day. Hope Doug feeds us some more too. Eddies, creeks and islands... ohhhhh pike and eye drive-thrus.
  20. Pike to me. And if it came from that dirty water that'd be the reason it's light. They get lighter too... Big Lake Ab silvers and the odd purple.
  21. Yeah... it's a weird name. But it is Ottawa... and likely what happened is, the emails which had the real names were erased.
  22. Great day out doods! Well done Lloyd. Would be tonnes of fun reelin' some in with this gang.
  23. 8:30am and they're at 68 chinooks, 42 bows, 13 grease pigs, 9 hos and 162 atlantics. Too bad they can't catch the intended species, taking a skunk on the browns again. Sheeeesh!
  24. N.E. Ontario... Yeah... Cochrane Air Services Kesagami Lake would get a vote, maybe Nettogami and Edgar as well. As would Hearst Air for the Attawapiskat and Napken Lake. True North for Kesagami is time-share now, you'd have to arrange your own charter in. Otherwise, up the eastern James Bay Highway on the Quebec side might lead to some amazing fishing in remote places as well... drive times similar I'd imagine.
