  5. Esnagi is a great lake...there is road access, however good luck finding it and if you do, the owners will be on you like white on rice. We fish it in the winter, we get there by ski-doos and the fishing is still amazing. It is nice, from Wawa in the winter we are there in an hour to an hour and a half. I know the owners of the lodge, awesome people..down to earth and love the fishing and hunting. One thing for sure...if you go, you will not be disappointed...the walleye fishing and the pike fishing are simply amazing...and you will see a lot of fish in the 18-22 inch range.
  6. I like the Gill Net method personally, but the rest are some great tips
  7. My buddy has one on his boat...he has a 25Merc..on a 16 footer...ease of mind if anything else...but will always save you headaches of worrying and you are just being proactive rather than reactive.

  9. I too can relate my godfather had crohn's and my gf has colitis and goes from Bad to Worse, back to Bad. We support every year and are always hoping for a cure. The doctors cant believe that she is able to work or even get out of bed on most days due to her white blood cell count, but she is the strongest, toughest and most stubborn person i know...so there is no doubt she will get through it. I sincerely hope all the best for your daughter and that she recovers fully and completely and lives a wonderful life! Anders
  10. right now any choice other than the liberal party is a good choice
  11. Roads closed in area For the people that are making there way through the area, this link has a great link to a map of areas being closed off to bush road travel. this is my moose hunting spot
  12. I understand the damage that a forest fire can create and the dangers it posseses to the men and woman that fight them, as i did that for a summer. The fire is a far way away from most areas of habitat for human, as its solely in the bush. This fire went to over 2500 ha in roughly 24 hr, that is from an employee from the mnr whom i am good friends with. With the lack of fires in the area and ontario for the most part in the last 3-4yrs, the forest is littered with fuel, add in the dry temps and poor runoff this spring, its suprising that this is the first, or what i am aware of as a first of its size this year. The MNR does a great job (did i just say that) in controlling forest fires and have complete faith that this to will be controlled, however, they are amazing how they grow, and will create a mind of its own.
  13. I love forest fires...this one is the biggest in our area since the big one in White River and Dubreuilville quite some time ago. Looks like its going to be bear! Link Here

  17. Finally got out walter fishing for the first time this year. Due to weddings on a long weekend and other arrangements i havent been out yet. Last night my dad and i finally got out fishing and after a slow start with me waiting inside for him to pic me up and him sitting in my garage waiting for me to get home we finally left after 30 min of wondering where we each were, when we were actually there :wallbash: When we did get out the fishing wasn't hot but it was nice to get out. My dad got the first one coming in at 20 inches and finding the stringer. After a lull i get my first hit and feels like it was a good one, but after telling my dad i think somethings wrong (had that feeling in my knees) the fish gets off. A moment later it hits again and smashes it this time, makeing sure it had the whole minnow. After a good fight this old girl emerged, battle scars and all. Tipping the scales at just over 7lbs. This fish was thick....or so i thought My dad got another 20 incher that ended up on stringer and after making a few moves with no luck we came back to the spot were we hit the first 3 fish and on the first drift...wham...another brute. When i though my first fish was thick, this one topped it...another walter that hit 7lbs on the scale. This fish is 1.5 inches smaller than my first. Not bad for my first 2 walters of the year and both hogs. Will be tough to beat that, but ever nice to get out!
  18. I understand some people's perception on bears (not all but some), however we have become a society of fear. What did everyone do 10 15 yrs ago when they saw a bear? My guess is pull out the 35mm or the polaroid and try to get a picture of it. I understand the population is growing due to the cancellation of the spring bear hunt, and we are slowly expanding our cities and towns into where the bush once was, but i think if we educated ourselves and hell even if the MNR's great bear wise program offered a free info sessions we wouldn't have to continue to live like this every summer or spring.
  19. Charge? or establishing area, also bluff charging.
