Don't mind them Glen ... I love ya

I started using the Top Raider a little more last year while my wife was playing around with a Cisco Topper. As the others have said, the times I have used this bait is early morning and late evening. Typical structure for my first attempts have been off points of islands where the rocks extend out, open-water shoals, and across weed-beds. I had one musky attack the lure (But missed) on the inside turn of an island point with some surrounding weeds. Made one heck of a commotion, but my excitement was short lived. I'm planning on working this bair a little more this coming year.

spinning reel cleaning (old post, slightly modified)
Rich Clemens replied to goteeboy's topic in General Discussion
Spent last Sunday sharpening the hooks and will probably be finishing them up this week-end. I see my Saturday honey-do list is already growing ... something about cleaning the basement. -
Hmmmm ... are the wings really necessary. We're so easy to please.

Need a new fishing partner ...After today!

I got the same problem with my two little helpers in the boat. When we get one on ... everyone is hanging over the side of the boat to see what it is. Once in a while my last Airdale got a little carried away and we not only had to get the fish out of the water, we also had to fish the dog out of the water. They're great companions and good to see you taking yours out as well. -
Good to see you guys getting some soft water up there. Great report 4Reel.

Really only one favorite ... Corona.

Very sweet ride John ... you'll have a blast in it.

Now that's a true test. I'm sure the dog will be glad to see me, but the consequences of the other are just too much to risk. Good one.

I enjoy the scenery shots and that first one with the snow capped mountain is one awesome shot Brandon.

Somebody Loves Ya I also was lucky enough to get the H2O unit ... wishin' I had the extra hundred bucks for the color unit. Put those to good use and celebrate your birthday over and over Carol.

My first bass over 10 pounds - Lake Toho report
Rich Clemens replied to cthewrld's topic in General Discussion
Mighty impressive Mike. Congrats to you. My Grandfather lived in St. Cloud, just across the street from West Toho (I think it is called). Spent a few evenings sitting on one of the piers fishing, but had no luck. Of course, this was back in the early 70's whe we went down for visiting and vacation. I've never caught one anywhere near that weight ... maybe close to half of that. Again - congrats on the large bucket mouth. -
Have a great one Bly. Great job on the care there Cliff.

We have diamond backs around here and I'm happy to say that I've never seen one in the wild. Been to the French and G-bay and never ran across a rattler. That's just one more example of two things that do not go well together ..... me and snakes. Instant pants fillers those things are.

Welcome aboard. Nice variety of fish there and some dandys too.

Welcome aboard PH. Unusual fish from down under ... .not sure I'd want to run into one of those crocs along the river though. I like to do some bass and pike fishin' myself, with a couple musky side trips. Great intro and looking forward to your future reports.

I am on my second Tracker boat. The first boat I ever owned, we purchased about 5 years ago and it was the Pro Angler. It came with a 25 hp Merc, but we had it upgraded to a 40. We picked it up at a sports show in Harrisburg, PA as the price was right for us and we got a pretty good deal. Never had a bit of problem with it and we liked the way the storage areas. I think it was a 16' with a 72" beam. This had the dual console. We wanted a bit more room and with fishing Ontario in late September, we could get into some chilly/wet weather running down the river. Of course, a Little console for my wife, just wasn't doing the job. Patsy even suggested we check out the boats that have a full windshield. Hmmmm ... A bigger boat. Let me think about that for a fraction of a second. Ok. Bass Pro had their grand opening in Harrisburg a few years back and they partner with Tracker. We really liked the tracker we had and worked with the sales rep on a trade with the grand-opening specials they were running. They had a TARGA V17 WT on site and looked it over pretty good. We liked the available open space and the multiple areas of storage. It came with a 75, but knew we wanted to upgrade to a 90, which wasn't all that much more money. What I didn't like was that they were only offering me 4K on my Pro Angler and I knew it was worth more than that. Other than a few scratches, the boat was is great condition as we keep it in our garage. After considering it for a while, we decided to go ahead and make the deal. We really enjoy the boat and are happy with it. The only thing I wish I had done differently was to upgrade to the 90 4-Stroke, instead of the 2-stroke I have. If you're considering the boat, get it prepped the way you want it ... up front. Otherwise you'll just be coming back later on and upgrading things. So far, I'm not yet permitted to upgrade the motor. (Still working on that one). Overall we are very pleased with the trackers and are within our price range for the boat we wanted. Of course, it seems that they don't hold their value at trade-in time like others do. As I mentioned before, we've hada no problems with either boat from the day we bought them. Of course, with a 30 gallon tank - it is starting to hurt a bit when pulling in the gas station. Our ride and our two regular fishing buddies. (Sadly I had to put the Airedale down a little over a month ago, be we have another to break in this year).

Ahhhhh ... another brother from the states. Welcome aboard.

Look like a great place to be to put some very respectible fish in the boat. Congratulations.

DOG PACK ATTACKS ALLIGATOR - NF

How did I know what the picture would show. We're having a blast with our own new pup - just full of energy. Of course, our lab thinks she's a complete pain in the "back-side". Cute pic - I like it.
