  1. We used to do two fishing trips a year, but I guess it is only one now. Think we spent more time in just a single day sitting around chatting and having fun, than we did fishing the entire week. LOL. Great to see everyone again, a year in between is just too long. Already booked for a repeat next year and looking forward to it. Lots of Pennsylvanians in camp that week ..... GO PA !! Finally got to meet Sheri after only knowing her on FB. Come back next year Sheri - reserve your spot now. Patsy and I got totally skunked in the fishing department this year, but that's ok. Even when we were out, we couldn't wait to get back to camp to be with our friends. Hope we can keep this up for years to come. Boat is cleaned out and washed - bring on September. Thank you OFC for bringing us all together.
  2. Feeding Time !!!!! Congrats on the first of the season.
  3. Oh sweet. Congrats. I'm still holding on for my first 50" . Always glad to hear when others hit it.
  4. Is Alan joining us this year ?
  5. Uh oh. Maybe a big challenge for, opening week. Better up my on game. LOL Patsy's PB came on one of your custom-made lures at 49"
  6. Don't think that's the one Dan. Ours is a little one BR. Coming out from the lodge, turn left and run up the channel maybe 100 yards. Sits right along the water . There is a little bay around back of it
  7. That's when Patsy and I are checking in there - around mid-September. Cabin 9 on the point there. Looking forward to,trying the bay's for some ski action. Never been up that way that late in the season.
  8. Yup. Meet a lot of great friends at the GTG. Many I still stay in thought with and meet up each year.
  9. Thanks for confirming Art. Basically what I remember from being up that way last year. Lew actually stopped by and was talking to the folks there - which is where I got my info. Lot's of great times there at Lakair. First time I ever went camping was at Lakair. I've heard lots of good things about Memquisit, so we're gonna give it go for some fall musky action ..... We hope anyway.
  10. The last I had heard, the new owners were doing a lot of remodeling. Looks like they were completely rebuilding the one cabin that sits down there by the launch. It was my understanding that the new owner would be doing seasonal rentals only(What I recall hearing anyway). Some of OFC'ers are booking now up on the West Arm at Mashkinonje for the Musky opener since Lakair closed. I'm going to hit Memquisit for a week this September and give that a try. A number of us are already booked for the opener this year at Mashkinonje.
  11. I used the crate and down-spout method for a year or two. Quick and easy to select the bait I wanted - and easy to see them all. But, it took both hands carrying the box back and forth from the cabin to the boat every day. Some locations, I would not trust letting all those lures sitting in the boat - so it could have been more than one trip a day just for the box. Eventually I purchased a carrying case from BPS with a shoulder strap. Put three of the larger Plana boxes inside and they fit just right. One box had my bucktails only, and so on. Each box contained a specific group of lures. Now, just throw it over my shoulder and I have two free hands for carrying other things. The down side is, it takes longer to open up and find the bait I'm looking for.
  12. Congratulations Mike. Goes to show that hard work and dedication, people can move up the ladder to better and better things.
  13. A long hard fought battle indeed, but nobody could have done it better.
  14. Funny ... woke up to a coating of the white stuff down here this morning. More on the way for over the week-end. Enough already
  15. HA Ha. And I worry about the Muskie teeth. Congrats on your PB.
  16. Welcome FishFinder. Looking forward to Some cool videos
  17. I make two trips up to the French River / Nipissing area each year - some 500+ miles one way. (Sometimes three trips). I always check the trailer front to back before I leave the house - and I also do the same before leaving the camp for the trip home. I carry a small air compressor with me to top off the tires (Truck and Trailer) whenever needed. As others have mentioned, I do a walk-around at each stop and make sure all is well and that the bearings are not over-heating. In all the years making these trips, I've never had an issue. I do need to pick up some spare trailer light bulbs.
  18. hockey and fishing ... you'll fit in here nicely. Welcome aboard.
  19. Hitting the West Arm for the musky opener with some great friends. Maybe we'll fish a bit too. Staying at Memquisit for a week in September. First time hitting the Nip in mid-September. Following that week with a second on the North channel of the French. Hopefully my dry spell the last couple years will pick up.
  20. A lot of Walleye guys are drooling over this report. Sweet.
  21. Exactly what I thought. Anyway, saves a lot of higher traffic routes and less to worry about towing the boat. I'll keep using it
  22. PA registered vehicles do not have a front tag. I've heard it is somewhat expensive, but I do t know what it would be. we get on there around Burlington and run it until we get off at the 400. My guess is, we would be on just about the entire length of it. Not sure how far it continues past the 400. I wonder, if we Americans had an unpaid balance, would the border patrol know ? Our trailer tag is underneath the frame and angles a litle, so that may help with not getting a clear photo.
  23. I use the ETR on our two trips each year to the French and Nipissing area. I have yet to get a charge. Could be that the cameras can't catch my plate number on the truck or trailer. But, I have heard that some Americans have been billed.
  24. Mine neither. But if I don't spend it ... someone else will. LOL
  25. Did someone mention the redesigned 2017 Raptor. That's the one I have my eyes on - anxious to see one.
