  1. There we go. That didn't take long. As I said in an earlier post I am new to this. I don't have an unlimited budget to spend on this. It wii take time. I like how you almighty muskie protectors act like you had thousands of dollars of gear your first time out. Go be a loser somewhere else.
  2. So I guess a big net it is then
  3. Gonna get a cradle I think.
  4. Got up at five this morning. Walked to the dock. Wind was up and I thought about going back In the trailer for more sleep. Decided to go out anyway. Started out fishing top water. Nothing for a while. Put on a bionic buck tail and first cast FISH ON!!! good fight. I knew this one was bigger. Few leaps out of the water. Peeling drag. What a rush. Got it to the boat and realized my rubber net was way too small. I forgot to mention my buddy slept in so I was alone. Had to grab the gill plate. It was heavier than I'm used to. Sorry muskie guys but only way to get a pic was to hold it straight up and down real quick. Got the hooks out quick and revived it and it swam off unharmed. I noticed a quarter sized fresh wound on it's right side and the right front fin was freshly bitten or torn half off. Caught at 6 am 44" back to the trailer for 7: 30 for breakfast.
  5. My neighbors fishing has slowed down a lot the last few years. I think these pics got the bug back in him. Maybe I'll go out with him and use his lures. lol
  6. Man all the talk I hear about muskie fishing is hard and many days of no fish and the fish of a thousand casts. Thins stuff is a walk in the park dude. Think I'll chalk it up to beginners luck. Lol
  7. shhhhh. Don't tell my wife.
  8. Oh and just got a few lures from my my neighbor. Top water raider(I think that's what it's called, and a jerk bait. Will try them next weekend.
  9. Thanks guys. Took my 5 year old soon out for a couple hours today for bass. Found myself throwing that same lure again. Couple descent LMB and one muskie follow. Couldn't get her to commit.
  10. Well now that I figured out how to post pics from my phone here goes. Have a trailer on pigeon lake. Decided to try and give muskie a go on the sunday of opening weekend. My cousin and I got up at 5: 30. Only lure I had was a large black and orange spinner bait. Worked the edges of the floating bogs. Picked up a few oos bass. Drifted over a small pencil reed island and upon exiting the other end I let my lure stop and fall beside the boat to light a smoke and bang fish on. Little guy 28". First ever muskie. Yeah baby. Rubber net, quick pic, measurement and release. No harm and still lots of spunk. 7: 00 am. Drifted over to a floating bog island. First cast into the channel and it exploded on impact. Little bigger, 32", but way stronger. Great fight. Same catch and release as earlier. 8: 0am. Back to the trailer for breakfast at 9: 00 am. Great morning all around.
  11. Great report. Must be hot if Lloyd gave up on the camo pants.
  12. How do you add mutiple pictures?
  13. Got the boat in the water at the trailer on Saturday. My oldest an I went out for a bit in the afternoon. He managed to pick one up. We only had worms so we had to fight to keep the sunfish and bluegill off (although some were very decent). I went out early Sunday morning (after I found some old Berkley 3" minnows in the bottom of the tackle box and got two more. Then he and I went again in the afternoon and picked up a few more keepers with a few throw backs. All in all a great time and a new experience for me targeting crappie. Oh! and might I add Delicious!!!!
  14. Used to be top water bass with buddies. Now it's a close second to pan fishing with the kids.
  15. PURENEWF following you guys
  16. I fish them in the Credit for channel cat bait
  17. What was the weight on those beauts?
  18. Can't wait to try some of these guys in the fall.
  19. My uncle's farm has thousands
  20. Was at Restoule a few years back. Didn't make it up to stormy. Fishing was good in Restoule. Caught a bunch of fair sized smallies and some huge sunfish. Talked to a few others there that had good success also. Oh...also caught a few walleye. There is a store right across the lake from the campgrounds that sells gas.
  21. I had the older curve for work. Now have the new bold. For work purposes it's good. For my personal I had the Galaxy S now have the Galaxy S2. Love them. Never had an I phone but have lots of friends converting to Android. Mostly due to way more free apps. Bigger screen, a virtually indestructible screen.
  22. I agree with Wayne. Lloyd is awesome to fish with.
  23. Get yourself a 'Panhandler' and a double bladed electric knife. Watched the Americans at Rice Lake last year. Pretty slick.
