  1. Nice report evster. Hopefully your next outing will produce a few more fish but it sounds like you guys still had a great time. Thanks for sharing. Corn Nug
  2. Great job finding those pike Pete. Nice report. Corn Nug
  3. Headed out to my local pike hole tonight with a couple of friends. Tried a few different areas floating shiners and eventually I hooked into this little guy. The bite was a bit slow and the sun was dropping fast. We decided to call it a night and head off. Nice being out tonight as she was a beauty. Will be heading out Sunday morning to try again with my father. Hope we get into some. Corn Nug
  4. A few fish is better than none. Good job. Corn Nug
  5. Congrats to your nephew on his first ski. I've never caught one yet but I'm sure I'll try my hand at it someday. Corn Nug
  6. Nice job lads. At least you got a workout paddling around despite the lack of fish. Great story about the little fella bringing in the largie. Must have been one proud faither there with his son. Nice report. Corn Nug

  10. CCMT - I remember reading a post of yours recently where you stated that you took a quick break to enjoy the view and moments later you or Bly hooked a fish. Sometimes you need to step back and survey the area before blindly tossing your lures out. JB/GROG - My buds and I have got into pike in that area before using the good old wee cleo, in particular the blue/silver pattern. Floating shiners and large suckers has also been productive. 11. You're probably pretty close Krawler. Pmartins are always good for specks. That nice ping they make under water draws them in close and the worm tip get's them biting. We'll have to wait for Steve's secret weapon to be revealed..... Corn Nug
  12. Nice one brother! Your exploration paid off. Good job seeking out some honey holes. Corn Nug
  13. Colossal fish! Nice job documenting the return to water. Congrats. Corn Nug
  14. Welcome Brookster. Lots of good people with extensive info hear. I'm sure you'll enjoy the board. Corn Nug
  15. Nice Mepps! That bait is almost as big as that rockbass. If you've got any spinners you're willing to part with PM me some pics and pricing. I'd be interested in 6" - 8" spinners. Thanks man.
  16. Right on man! Nice to see some inexpensive tackle getting the job done. Very nice pike. Mepps, that's quite the dressing on that spinner. Are you selling any of your creations? Corn Nug
  17. Thanks for clarifying the license issue Misfish.
  18. Awesome report! Great looking pike you got into and the mix of species must have made for a fun trip. Corn Nug
  19. Beauty pickerel you got there. Congrats!
  20. Nice report JB. Glad you finally caught up with those musky. Too bad you lost some time on the water getting your bud a new license though. I'm not sure why the MNR told him to stop fishing after they confirmed that he was in fact licensed to fish. Corn Nug
  21. Went out this morning bright and early to my local pike hole. It was a nice cool crisp morning and I was hoping not to get skunked two mornings in a row. Saw a couple pike jumping just off the south shoreline and started casting in that direction. I washed a few xraps and spinners for a half hour and decided to take a break and snap a quick shot of the shoreline. Glad I took my break because after switching up to a little cleo I got this little scrapper on my second cast. Continued to work the little cleo and minutes later I hooked into this guy. Better fish than my first. Approximately 24". I stayed out for another hour or so but the sun was starting to hit the water hard. The bite turned off and I decided to call it a day. It was fun getting into a few and I enjoyed the nice morning. Corn Nug
  22. I'm with Spiel. On my latest trip to Algonquin my bud brought his trusty/lucky lantern he's been using for 20+ years. How's that old saying go.... "They don't make 'em like they used to" Corn Nug
  23. Very nice looking specks man! If I had to guess I'd say the fish at the top was the last one caught. It still has some nice colour to it. Not for long though. Enjoy your dinner! Corn Nug
  24. Sorry to hear you got skunked on your trip Nemo. At least you had nice weather and were able to go for a swim. If it makes you feel any better I went out to my local pike hole early this morning and got skunked. Corn Nug
  25. Sure looks like poison ivy to me Nemo. How was your trip? Anything to report?
